اِذۡ تَمۡشِىۡۤ اُخۡتُكَ فَتَقُوۡلُ هَلۡ اَدُلُّـكُمۡ عَلٰى مَنۡ يَّكۡفُلُهٗ ؕ فَرَجَعۡنٰكَ اِلٰٓى اُمِّكَ كَىۡ تَقَرَّ عَيۡنُهَا وَلَا تَحۡزَنَ ؕ وَقَتَلۡتَ نَـفۡسًا فَنَجَّيۡنٰكَ مِنَ الۡغَمِّ وَفَتَـنّٰكَ فُتُوۡنًا ۚفَلَبِثۡتَ سِنِيۡنَ فِىۡۤ اَهۡلِ مَدۡيَنَ ۙ ثُمَّ جِئۡتَ عَلٰى قَدَرٍ يّٰمُوۡسٰى(طه :40)
Ith tamshee okhtuka fataqoolu hal adullukum 'ala man yakfuluhu faraja'naka ila ommika kay taqarra 'aynuha wala tahzana waqatalta nafsan fanajjaynaka mina alghammi wafatannaka futoonan falabithta sineena fee ahli madyana thumma jita 'ala qadarin ya moosa
Sahih International:
[And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses.
وَلَـمَّا تَوَجَّهَ تِلۡقَآءَ مَدۡيَنَ قَالَ عَسٰى رَبِّىۡۤ اَنۡ يَّهۡدِيَنِىۡ سَوَآءَ السَّبِيۡلِ(القصص :22)
Walamma tawajjaha tilqaa madyana qala 'asa rabbee an yahdiyanee sawaa alssabeeli
Sahih International:
And when he directed himself toward Madyan, he said, "Perhaps my Lord will guide me to the sound way."
وَلَـمَّا وَرَدَ مَآءَ مَدۡيَنَ وَجَدَ عَلَيۡهِ اُمَّةً مِّنَ النَّاسِ يَسۡقُوۡنَ وَوَجَدَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِهِمُ امۡرَاَتَيۡنِ تَذُوۡدٰنِ ۚ قَالَ مَا خَطۡبُكُمَا ؕ قَالَـتَا لَا نَسۡقِىۡ حَتّٰى يُصۡدِرَ الرِّعَآءُۖ وَاَبُوۡنَا شَيۡخٌ كَبِيۡرٌ(القصص :23)
Walamma warada maa madyana wajada 'alayhi ommatan mina alnnasi yasqoona wawajada min doonihimu imraatayni tathoodani qala ma khatbukuma qalata la nasqee hatta yusdira alrri'ao waaboona shaykhun kabeerun
Sahih International:
And when he came to the well of Madyan, he found there a crowd of people watering [their flocks], and he found aside from them two women driving back [their flocks]. He said, "What is your circumstance?" They said, "We do not water until the shepherds dispatch [their flocks]; and our father is an old man."
فَسَقٰى لَهُمَا ثُمَّ تَوَلّٰٓى اِلَى الظِّلِّ فَقَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّىۡ لِمَاۤ اَنۡزَلۡتَ اِلَىَّ مِنۡ خَيۡرٍ فَقِيۡرٌ(القصص :24)
Fasaqa lahuma thumma tawalla ila alththilli faqala rabbi innee lima anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqeerun
Sahih International:
So he watered [their flocks] for them; then he went back to the shade and said, "My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need."
فَجَآءَتۡهُ اِحۡدٰٮہُمَا تَمۡشِىۡ عَلَى اسۡتِحۡيَآءٍ قَالَتۡ اِنَّ اَبِىۡ يَدۡعُوۡكَ لِيَجۡزِيَكَ اَجۡرَ مَا سَقَيۡتَ لَـنَا ؕ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهٗ وَقَصَّ عَلَيۡهِ الۡقَصَصَ ۙ قَالَ لَا تَخَفۡ ۖ نَجَوۡتَ مِنَ الۡقَوۡمِ الظّٰلِمِيۡنَ(القصص :25)
Fajaathu ihdahuma tamshee 'ala istihyain qalat inna abee yad'ooka liyajziyaka ajra ma saqayta lana falamma jaahu waqassa 'alayhi alqasasa qala la takhaf najawta mina alqawmi alththalimeena
Sahih International:
Then one of the two women came to him walking with shyness. She said, "Indeed, my father invites you that he may reward you for having watered for us." So when he came to him and related to him the story, he said, "Fear not. You have escaped from the wrongdoing people."
قَالَتۡ اِحۡدٰٮہُمَا يٰۤاَبَتِ اسْتَاْجِرۡهُ ۖ اِنَّ خَيۡرَ مَنِ اسۡتَـاْجَرۡتَ الۡقَوِىُّ الۡاَمِيۡنُ(القصص :26)
Qalat ihdahuma ya abati istajirhu inna khayra mani istajarta alqawiyyu alameenu
Sahih International:
One of the women said, "O my father, hire him. Indeed, the best one you can hire is the strong and the trustworthy."
قَالَ اِنِّىۡۤ اُرِيۡدُ اَنۡ اُنۡكِحَكَ اِحۡدَى ابۡنَتَىَّ هٰتَيۡنِ عَلٰٓى اَنۡ تَاۡجُرَنِىۡ ثَمٰنِىَ حِجَجٍۚ فَاِنۡ اَتۡمَمۡتَ عَشۡرًا فَمِنۡ عِنۡدِكَۚ وَمَاۤ اُرِيۡدُ اَنۡ اَشُقَّ عَلَيۡكَؕ سَتَجِدُنِىۡۤ اِنۡ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ مِنَ الصّٰلِحِيۡنَ(القصص :27)
Qala innee oreedu an onkihaka ihda ibnatayya hatayni 'ala an tajuranee thamaniya hijajin fain atmamta 'ashran famin 'indika wama oreedu an ashuqqa 'alayka satajidunee in shaa Allahu mina alssaliheena
Sahih International:
He said, "Indeed, I wish to wed you one of these, my two daughters, on [the condition] that you serve me for eight years; but if you complete ten, it will be [as a favor] from you. And I do not wish to put you in difficulty. You will find me, if Allah wills, from among the righteous."
قَالَ ذٰ لِكَ بَيۡنِىۡ وَبَيۡنَكَ ؕ اَيَّمَا الۡاَجَلَيۡنِ قَضَيۡتُ فَلَا عُدۡوَانَ عَلَـىَّ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰى مَا نَقُوۡلُ وَكِيۡلٌ(القصص :28)
Qala thalika baynee wabaynaka ayyama alajalayni qadaytu fala 'udwana 'alayya waAllahu 'ala ma naqoolu wakeelun
Sahih International:
[Moses] said, "That is [established] between me and you. Whichever of the two terms I complete - there is no injustice to me, and Allah, over what we say, is Witness."
