walaw
And if
tarā
you (could) see
idh
when
faziʿū
they will be terrified
falā
but (there will be) no
fawta
escape
wa-ukhidhū
and they will be seized
min
مِن
from
makānin
a place
qarībin
near

And if you could see when they are terrified but there is no escape, and they will be seized from a place nearby.

Tafsir

waqālū
And they will say
āmannā
"We believe
bihi
in it"
wa-annā
But how
lahumu
for them
l-tanāwushu
(will be) the receiving
min
مِن
from
makānin
a place
baʿīdin
far off?

And they will [then] say, "We believe in it!" But how for them will be the taking [of faith] from a place far away?

Tafsir

waqad
And certainly
kafarū
they disbelieved
bihi
in it
min
مِن
before
qablu
before
wayaqdhifūna
And they utter conjectures
bil-ghaybi
about the unseen
min
مِن
from
makānin
a place
baʿīdin
far off

And they had already disbelieved in it before and would assault the unseen from a place far away.

Tafsir

waḥīla
And a barrier will be placed
baynahum
between them
wabayna
and between
مَا
what
yashtahūna
they desire
kamā
as
fuʿila
was done
bi-ashyāʿihim
with their kind
min
before
qablu
before
innahum
Indeed, they
kānū
were
فِى
in
shakkin
doubt
murībin
disquieting

And prevention will be placed between them and what they desire, as was done with their kind before. Indeed, they were in disquieting doubt [i.e., denial].
