فَلَمَّا فَصَلَ طَالُوۡتُ بِالۡجُـنُوۡدِۙ قَالَ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ مُبۡتَلِيۡکُمۡ بِنَهَرٍۚ فَمَنۡ شَرِبَ مِنۡهُ فَلَيۡسَ مِنِّىۡۚ وَمَنۡ لَّمۡ يَطۡعَمۡهُ فَاِنَّهٗ مِنِّىۡٓ اِلَّا مَنِ اغۡتَرَفَ غُرۡفَةً ۢ بِيَدِهٖۚ فَشَرِبُوۡا مِنۡهُ اِلَّا قَلِيۡلًا مِّنۡهُمۡؕ فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَهٗ هُوَ وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مَعَهٗ ۙ قَالُوۡا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا الۡيَوۡمَ بِجَالُوۡتَ وَجُنُوۡدِهٖؕ قَالَ الَّذِيۡنَ يَظُنُّوۡنَ اَنَّهُمۡ مُّلٰقُوا اللّٰهِۙ کَمۡ مِّنۡ فِئَةٍ قَلِيۡلَةٍ غَلَبَتۡ فِئَةً کَثِيۡرَةً ۢ بِاِذۡنِ اللّٰهِؕ وَاللّٰهُ مَعَ الصّٰبِرِيۡنَ(البقرة :249)
Falamma fasala talootu bialjunoodi qala inna Allaha mubtaleekum binaharin faman shariba minhu falaysa minnee waman lam yat'amhu fainnahu minnee illa mani ightarafa ghurfatan biyadihi fashariboo minhu illa qaleelan minhum falamma jawazahu huwa waallatheena amanoo ma'ahu qaloo la taqata lana alyawma bijaloota wajunoodihi qala allatheena yathunnoona annahum mulaqoo Allahi kam min fiatin qaleelatin ghalabat fiatan katheeratan biithni Allahi waAllahu ma'a alssabireena
Sahih International:
And when Saul went forth with the soldiers, he said, "Indeed, Allah will be testing you with a river. So whoever drinks from it is not of me, and whoever does not taste it is indeed of me, excepting one who takes [from it] in the hollow of his hand." But they drank from it, except a [very] few of them. Then when he had crossed it along with those who believed with him, they said, "There is no power for us today against Goliath and his soldiers." But those who were certain that they would meet Allah said, "How many a small company has overcome a large company by permission of Allah . And Allah is with the patient."
قَدۡ كَانَ لَـكُمۡ اٰيَةٌ فِىۡ فِئَتَيۡنِ الۡتَقَتَا ؕ فِئَةٌ تُقَاتِلُ فِىۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ وَاُخۡرٰى كَافِرَةٌ يَّرَوۡنَهُمۡ مِّثۡلَيۡهِمۡ رَاۡىَ الۡعَيۡنِؕ وَاللّٰهُ يُؤَيِّدُ بِنَصۡرِهٖ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ ؕ اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰ لِكَ لَعِبۡرَةً لِّاُولِى الۡاَبۡصَارِ(آل عمران :13)
Qad kana lakum ayatun fee fiatayni iltaqata fiatun tuqatilu fee sabeeli Allahi waokhra kafiratun yarawnahum mithlayhim raya al'ayni waAllahu yuayyidu binasrihi man yashao inna fee thalika la'ibratan liolee alabsari
Sahih International:
Already there has been for you a sign in the two armies which met - one fighting in the cause of Allah and another of disbelievers. They saw them [to be] twice their [own] number by [their] eyesight. But Allah supports with His victory whom He wills. Indeed in that is a lesson for those of vision.
وَاِذَا جَآءَهُمۡ اَمۡرٌ مِّنَ الۡاَمۡنِ اَوِ الۡخَـوۡفِ اَذَاعُوۡا بِهٖ ۚ وَلَوۡ رَدُّوۡهُ اِلَى الرَّسُوۡلِ وَاِلٰٓى اُولِى الۡاَمۡرِ مِنۡهُمۡ لَعَلِمَهُ الَّذِيۡنَ يَسۡتَنۡۢبِطُوۡنَهٗ مِنۡهُمۡؕ وَلَوۡلَا فَضۡلُ اللّٰهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَرَحۡمَتُهٗ لَاتَّبَعۡتُمُ الشَّيۡطٰنَ اِلَّا قَلِيۡلًا(النساء :83)
Waitha jaahum amrun mina alamni awi alkhawfi atha'oo bihi walaw raddoohu ila alrrasooli waila olee alamri minhum la'alimahu allatheena yastanbitoonahu minhum walawla fadlu Allahi 'alaykum warahmatuhu laittaba'tumu alshshaytana illa qaleelan
Sahih International:
And when there comes to them information about [public] security or fear, they spread it around. But if they had referred it back to the Messenger or to those of authority among them, then the ones who [can] draw correct conclusions from it would have known about it. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, you would have followed Satan, except for a few.
قَدۡ جَآءَكُمۡ بَصَآٮِٕرُ مِنۡ رَّبِّكُمۡۚ فَمَنۡ اَبۡصَرَ فَلِنَفۡسِهٖ ۚ وَمَنۡ عَمِىَ فَعَلَيۡهَا ؕ وَمَاۤ اَنَا عَلَيۡكُمۡ بِحَفِيۡظٍ(الأنعام :104)
Qad jaakum basairu min rabbikum faman absara falinafsihi waman 'amiya fa'alayha wama ana 'alaykum bihafeethin
Sahih International:
There has come to you enlightenment from your Lord. So whoever will see does so for [the benefit of] his soul, and whoever is blind [does harm] against it. And [say], "I am not a guardian over you."
وَاِذَا لَمۡ تَاۡتِهِمۡ بِاٰيَةٍ قَالُوۡا لَوۡلَا اجۡتَبَيۡتَهَا ؕ قُلۡ اِنَّمَاۤ اَتَّبِعُ مَا يُوۡحٰٓى اِلَىَّ مِنۡ رَّبِّىۡ ۚ هٰذَا بَصَآٮِٕرُ مِنۡ رَّبِّكُمۡ وَهُدًى وَّ رَحۡمَةٌ لِّقَوۡمٍ يُّؤۡمِنُوۡنَ(الأعراف :203)
Waitha lam tatihim biayatin qaloo lawla ijtabaytaha qul innama attabi'u ma yooha ilayya min rabbee hatha basairu min rabbikum wahudan warahmatun liqawmin yuminoona
Sahih International:
And when you, [O Muhammad], do not bring them a sign, they say, "Why have you not contrived it?" Say, "I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This [Qur'an] is enlightenment from your Lord and guidance and mercy for a people who believe."
قُلۡ هٰذِهٖ سَبِيۡلِىۡۤ اَدۡعُوۡۤا اِلَى اللّٰهِ ۚ عَلٰى بَصِيۡرَةٍ اَنَا وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِىۡؕ وَسُبۡحٰنَ اللّٰهِ وَمَاۤ اَنَا مِنَ الۡمُشۡرِكِيۡنَ(يوسف :108)
Qul hathihi sabeelee ad'oo ila Allahi 'ala baseeratin ana wamani ittaba'anee wasubhana Allahi wama ana mina almushrikeena
Sahih International:
Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me. And exalted is Allah ; and I am not of those who associate others with Him."
يُقَلِّبُ اللّٰهُ الَّيۡلَ وَالنَّهَارَ ؕ اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰ لِكَ لَعِبۡرَةً لِّاُولِى الۡاَبۡصَارِ(النور :44)
Yuqallibu Allahu allayla waalnnahara inna fee thalika la'ibratan liolee alabsari
Sahih International:
Allah alternates the night and the day. Indeed in that is a lesson for those who have vision.
وَاذۡكُرۡ عِبٰدَنَاۤ اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ وَاِسۡحٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوۡبَ اُولِى الۡاَيۡدِىۡ وَالۡاَبۡصَارِ(ص :45)
Waothkur 'ibadana ibraheema waishaqa waya'qooba olee alaydee waalabsari
Sahih International:
And remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - those of strength and [religious] vision.
هٰذَا بَصَاٮِٕرُ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَّرَحۡمَةٌ لِّقَوۡمٍ يُّوۡقِنُوۡنَ(الجاثية :20)
Hatha basairu lilnnasi wahudan warahmatun liqawmin yooqinoona
Sahih International:
This [Qur'an] is enlightenment for mankind and guidance and mercy for a people who are certain [in faith].
هُوَ الَّذِىۡۤ اَخۡرَجَ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا مِنۡ اَهۡلِ الۡكِتٰبِ مِنۡ دِيَارِهِمۡ لِاَوَّلِ الۡحَشۡرِؔؕ مَا ظَنَنۡـتُمۡ اَنۡ يَّخۡرُجُوۡا وَظَنُّوۡۤا اَنَّهُمۡ مَّانِعَتُهُمۡ حُصُوۡنُهُمۡ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ فَاَتٰٮهُمُ اللّٰهُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَمۡ يَحۡتَسِبُوۡا وَقَذَفَ فِىۡ قُلُوۡبِهِمُ الرُّعۡبَ يُخۡرِبُوۡنَ بُيُوۡتَهُمۡ بِاَيۡدِيۡهِمۡ وَاَيۡدِى الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ فَاعۡتَبِـرُوۡا يٰۤاُولِى الۡاَبۡصَارِ(الحشر :2)
Huwa allathee akhraja allatheena kafaroo min ahli alkitabi min diyarihim liawwali alhashri ma thanantum an yakhrujoo wathannoo annahum mani'atuhum husoonuhum mina Allahi faatahumu Allahu min haythu lam yahtasiboo waqathafa fee quloobihimu alrru'ba yukhriboona buyootahum biaydeehim waaydee almumineena fai'tabiroo ya olee alabsari
Sahih International:
It is He who expelled the ones who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think they would leave, and they thought that their fortresses would protect them from Allah ; but [the decree of] Allah came upon them from where they had not expected, and He cast terror into their hearts [so] they destroyed their houses by their [own] hands and the hands of the believers. So take warning, O people of vision.
