اَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ اللّٰتَ وَالۡعُزّٰىۙ(النجم :19)
Afaraaytumu allata waal'uzza
Sahih International:
So have you considered al-Lat and al-'Uzza?
وَمَنٰوةَ الثَّالِثَةَ الۡاُخۡرٰى(النجم :20)
Wamanata alththalithata alokhra
Sahih International:
And Manat, the third - the other one?
اَلَـكُمُ الذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ الۡاُنۡثٰى(النجم :21)
Alakumu alththakaru walahu alontha
Sahih International:
Is the male for you and for Him the female?
تِلۡكَ اِذًا قِسۡمَةٌ ضِيۡزٰى(النجم :22)
Tilka ithan qismatun deeza
Sahih International:
That, then, is an unjust division.
اِنۡ هِىَ اِلَّاۤ اَسۡمَآءٌ سَمَّيۡتُمُوۡهَاۤ اَنۡتُمۡ وَاٰبَآؤُكُمۡ مَّاۤ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰهُ بِهَا مِنۡ سُلۡطٰنٍؕ اِنۡ يَّتَّبِعُوۡنَ اِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى الۡاَنۡفُسُۚ وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُمۡ مِّنۡ رَّبِّهِمُ الۡهُدٰىؕ(النجم :23)
In hiya illa asmaon sammaytumooha antum waabaokum ma anzala Allahu biha min sultanin in yattabi'oona illa alththanna wama tahwa alanfusu walaqad jaahum min rabbihimu alhuda
Sahih International:
They are not but [mere] names you have named them - you and your forefathers - for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to them from their Lord guidance.
اَمۡ لِلۡاِنۡسَانِ مَا تَمَنّٰى(النجم :24)
Am lilinsani ma tamanna
Sahih International:
Or is there for man whatever he wishes?
فَلِلّٰهِ الۡاٰخِرَةُ وَالۡاُوۡلٰى(النجم :25)
Falillahi alakhiratu waaloola
Sahih International:
Rather, to Allah belongs the Hereafter and the first [life].
وَكَمۡ مِّنۡ مَّلَكٍ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ لَا تُغۡنِىۡ شَفَاعَتُهُمۡ شَيۡــًٔــا اِلَّا مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ اَنۡ يَّاۡذَنَ اللّٰهُ لِمَنۡ يَّشَآءُ وَيَرۡضٰى(النجم :26)
Wakam min malakin fee alssamawati la tughnee shafa'atuhum shayan illa min ba'di an yathana Allahu liman yashao wayarda
Sahih International:
And how many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will not avail at all except [only] after Allah has permitted [it] to whom He wills and approves.
اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ بِالۡاٰخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّوۡنَ الۡمَلٰٓٮِٕكَةَ تَسۡمِيَةَ الۡاُنۡثٰى(النجم :27)
Inna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati layusammoona almalaikata tasmiyata alontha
Sahih International:
Indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter name the angels female names,
وَمَا لَهُمۡ بِهٖ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍؕ اِنۡ يَّتَّبِعُوۡنَ اِلَّا الظَّنَّۚ وَاِنَّ الظَّنَّ لَا يُغۡنِىۡ مِنَ الۡحَـقِّ شَيۡـًٔـاۚ(النجم :28)
Wama lahum bihi min 'ilmin in yattabi'oona illa alththanna wainna alththanna la yughnee mina alhaqqi shayan
Sahih International:
And they have thereof no knowledge. They follow not except assumption, and indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all.
