Surah [7] Al-A'raf : 46

وَبَيۡنَهُمَا حِجَابٌ‌ۚ وَعَلَى الۡاَعۡرَافِ رِجَالٌ يَّعۡرِفُوۡنَ كُلًّاۢ بِسِيۡمٰٮهُمۡ‌ ۚ وَنَادَوۡا اَصۡحٰبَ الۡجَـنَّةِ اَنۡ سَلٰمٌ عَلَيۡكُمۡ‌ لَمۡ يَدۡخُلُوۡهَا وَهُمۡ يَطۡمَعُوۡنَ(الأعراف :46)

وَبَيْنَهُمَا
And between them
حِجَابٌۚ
(will be) a partition
وَعَلَى
and on
ٱلْأَعْرَافِ
the heights
رِجَالٌ
(will be) men
يَعْرِفُونَ
recognizing
كُلًّۢا
all
بِسِيمَىٰهُمْۚ
by their marks
وَنَادَوْا۟
And they will call out
أَصْحَٰبَ
(to the) companions
ٱلْجَنَّةِ
(of) Paradise
أَن
that
سَلَٰمٌ
"Peace
عَلَيْكُمْۚ
(be) upon you"
لَمْ
Not
يَدْخُلُوهَا
they have entered it
وَهُمْ
but they
يَطْمَعُونَ
hope

Wabaynahuma hijabun wa'ala ala'rafi rijalun ya'rifoona kullan biseemahum wanadaw ashaba aljannati an salamun 'alaykum lam yadkhulooha wahum yatma'oona

Sahih International:

And between them will be a partition, and on [its] elevations are men who recognize all by their mark. And they call out to the companions of Paradise, "Peace be upon you." They have not [yet] entered it, but they long intensely.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [18] Al-Kahf : 21

وَكَذٰلِكَ اَعۡثَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ لِيَـعۡلَمُوۡۤا اَنَّ وَعۡدَ اللّٰهِ حَقٌّ وَّاَنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَا رَيۡبَ فِيۡهَا ‌ۚ اِذۡ يَتَـنَازَعُوۡنَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ اَمۡرَهُمۡ‌ فَقَالُوۡا ابۡنُوۡا عَلَيۡهِمۡ بُنۡيَانًـا ‌ ؕ رَبُّهُمۡ اَعۡلَمُ بِهِمۡ‌ؕ قَالَ الَّذِيۡنَ غَلَبُوۡا عَلٰٓى اَمۡرِهِمۡ لَـنَـتَّخِذَنَّ عَلَيۡهِمۡ مَّسۡجِدًا(الكهف :21)

وَكَذَٰلِكَ
And similarly
أَعْثَرْنَا
We made known
عَلَيْهِمْ
about them
لِيَعْلَمُوٓا۟
that they might know
أَنَّ
that
وَعْدَ
(the) Promise
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
حَقٌّ
(is) true
وَأَنَّ
and that
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
(about) the Hour
لَا
(there is) no
رَيْبَ
doubt
فِيهَآ
in it
إِذْ
When
يَتَنَٰزَعُونَ
they disputed
بَيْنَهُمْ
among themselves
أَمْرَهُمْۖ
about their affair
فَقَالُوا۟
and they said
ٱبْنُوا۟
"Construct
عَلَيْهِم
over them
بُنْيَٰنًاۖ
a structure
رَّبُّهُمْ
Their Lord
أَعْلَمُ
knows best
بِهِمْۚ
about them"
قَالَ
Said
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
غَلَبُوا۟
prevailed
عَلَىٰٓ
in
أَمْرِهِمْ
their matter
لَنَتَّخِذَنَّ
"Surely we will take
عَلَيْهِم
over them
مَّسْجِدًا
a place of worship"

Wakathalika a'tharna 'alayhim liya'lamoo anna wa'da Allahi haqqun waanna alsa'ata la rayba feeha ith yatanaza'oona baynahum amrahum faqaloo ibnoo 'alayhim bunyanan rabbuhum a'lamu bihim qala allatheena ghalaboo 'ala amrihim lanattakhithanna 'alayhim masjidan

Sahih International:

And similarly, We caused them to be found that they [who found them] would know that the promise of Allah is truth and that of the Hour there is no doubt. [That was] when they disputed among themselves about their affair and [then] said, "Construct over them a structure. Their Lord is most knowing about them." Said those who prevailed in the matter, "We will surely take [for ourselves] over them a masjid."

Surah [18] Al-Kahf : 29

وَقُلِ الۡحَـقُّ مِنۡ رَّبِّكُمۡ‌ ۖ فَمَنۡ شَآءَ فَلۡيُؤۡمِنۡ وَّمَنۡ شَآءَ فَلۡيَكۡفُرۡ ‌ۙاِنَّاۤ اَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلظّٰلِمِيۡنَ نَارًا ۙ اَحَاطَ بِهِمۡ سُرَادِقُهَا‌ ؕ وَاِنۡ يَّسۡتَغِيۡثُوۡا يُغَاثُوۡا بِمَآءٍ كَالۡمُهۡلِ يَشۡوِى الۡوُجُوۡهَ‌ؕ بِئۡسَ الشَّرَابُ وَسَآءَتۡ مُرۡتَفَقًا(الكهف :29)

وَقُلِ
And say
ٱلْحَقُّ
"The truth
مِن
(is) from
رَّبِّكُمْۖ
your Lord
فَمَن
so whoever
شَآءَ
wills -
فَلْيُؤْمِن
let him believe
وَمَن
and whoever
شَآءَ
wills -
فَلْيَكْفُرْۚ
let him disbelieve"
إِنَّآ
Indeed We
أَعْتَدْنَا
have prepared
لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ
for the wrongdoers
نَارًا
a Fire
أَحَاطَ
will surround
بِهِمْ
them
سُرَادِقُهَاۚ
its walls
وَإِن
And if
يَسْتَغِيثُوا۟
they call for relief
يُغَاثُوا۟
they will be relieved
بِمَآءٍ
with water
كَٱلْمُهْلِ
like molten brass
يَشْوِى
(which) scalds
ٱلْوُجُوهَۚ
the faces
بِئْسَ
Wretched
ٱلشَّرَابُ
(is) the drink
وَسَآءَتْ
and evil
مُرْتَفَقًا
(is) the resting place

Waquli alhaqqu min rabbikum faman shaa falyumin waman shaa falyakfur inna a'tadna lilththalimeena naran ahata bihim suradiquha wain yastagheethoo yughathoo bimain kaalmuhli yashwee alwujooha bisa alshsharabu wasaat murtafaqan

Sahih International:

And say, "The truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills - let him believe; and whoever wills - let him disbelieve." Indeed, We have prepared for the wrongdoers a fire whose walls will surround them. And if they call for relief, they will be relieved with water like murky oil, which scalds [their] faces. Wretched is the drink, and evil is the resting place.

Surah [18] Al-Kahf : 77

فَانْطَلَقَا حَتّٰۤى اِذَاۤ اَتَيَاۤ اَهۡلَ قَرۡيَةِ  ۨاسۡتَطۡعَمَاۤ اَهۡلَهَا فَاَبَوۡا اَنۡ يُّضَيِّفُوۡهُمَا فَوَجَدَا فِيۡهَا جِدَارًا يُّرِيۡدُ اَنۡ يَّـنۡقَضَّ فَاَقَامَهٗ‌ ؕ قَالَ لَوۡ شِئۡتَ لَـتَّخَذۡتَ عَلَيۡهِ اَجۡرًا‏(الكهف :77)

فَٱنطَلَقَا
So they set out
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
إِذَآ
when
أَتَيَآ
they came
أَهْلَ
(to the) people
قَرْيَةٍ
(of) a town
ٱسْتَطْعَمَآ
they asked for food
أَهْلَهَا
(from) its people
فَأَبَوْا۟
but they refused
أَن
to
يُضَيِّفُوهُمَا
offer them hospitality
فَوَجَدَا
Then they found
فِيهَا
in it
جِدَارًا
a wall
يُرِيدُ
(that) want(ed)
أَن
to
يَنقَضَّ
collapse
فَأَقَامَهُۥۖ
so he set it straight
قَالَ
He said
لَوْ
"If
شِئْتَ
you wished
لَتَّخَذْتَ
surely you (could) have taken
عَلَيْهِ
for it
أَجْرًا
a payment"

Faintalaqa hatta itha ataya ahla qaryatin istat'ama ahlaha faabaw an yudayyifoohuma fawajada feeha jidaran yureedu an yanqadda faaqamahu qala law shita laittakhathta 'alayhi ajran

Sahih International:

So they set out, until when they came to the people of a town, they asked its people for food, but they refused to offer them hospitality. And they found therein a wall about to collapse, so al-Khidh r restored it. [Moses] said, "If you wished, you could have taken for it a payment."

Surah [18] Al-Kahf : 82

وَاَمَّا الۡجِدَارُ فَكَانَ لِغُلٰمَيۡنِ يَتِيۡمَيۡنِ فِى الۡمَدِيۡنَةِ وَكَانَ تَحۡتَهٗ كَنۡزٌ لَّهُمَا وَكَانَ اَبُوۡهُمَا صَالِحًـا ۚ فَاَرَادَ رَبُّكَ اَنۡ يَّبۡلُغَاۤ اَشُدَّهُمَا وَيَسۡتَخۡرِجَا كَنۡزَهُمَا ۖ رَحۡمَةً مِّنۡ رَّبِّكَ‌‌ ۚ وَمَا فَعَلۡتُهٗ عَنۡ اَمۡرِىۡ‌ ؕ ذٰ لِكَ تَاۡوِيۡلُ مَا لَمۡ تَسۡطِعْ عَّلَيۡهِ صَبۡرًا (الكهف :82)

وَأَمَّا
And as for
ٱلْجِدَارُ
the wall
فَكَانَ
it was
لِغُلَٰمَيْنِ
for two orphan boys
يَتِيمَيْنِ
for two orphan boys
فِى
in
ٱلْمَدِينَةِ
the town
وَكَانَ
and was
تَحْتَهُۥ
underneath it
كَنزٌ
a treasure
لَّهُمَا
for them
وَكَانَ
and was
أَبُوهُمَا
their father
صَٰلِحًا
righteous
فَأَرَادَ
So intended
رَبُّكَ
your Lord
أَن
that
يَبْلُغَآ
they reach
أَشُدَّهُمَا
their maturity
وَيَسْتَخْرِجَا
and bring forth
كَنزَهُمَا
their treasure
رَحْمَةً
(as) a mercy
مِّن
from
رَّبِّكَۚ
your Lord
وَمَا
And not
فَعَلْتُهُۥ
I did it
عَنْ
on
أَمْرِىۚ
my (own) accord
ذَٰلِكَ
That
تَأْوِيلُ
(is the) interpretation
مَا
(of) what
لَمْ
not
تَسْطِع
you were able
عَّلَيْهِ
on it
صَبْرًا
(to have) patience"

Waamma aljidaru fakana lighulamayni yateemayni fee almadeenati wakana tahtahu kanzun lahuma wakana aboohuma salihan faarada rabbuka an yablugha ashuddahuma wayastakhrija kanzahuma rahmatan min rabbika wama fa'altuhu 'an amree thalika taweelu ma lam tasti' 'alayhi sabran

Sahih International:

And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and there was beneath it a treasure for them, and their father had been righteous. So your Lord intended that they reach maturity and extract their treasure, as a mercy from your Lord. And I did it not of my own accord. That is the interpretation of that about which you could not have patience."

Surah [22] Al-Hajj : 45

فَكَاَيِّنۡ مِّنۡ قَرۡيَةٍ اَهۡلَكۡنٰهَا وَهِىَ ظَالِمَةٌ فَهِىَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلٰى عُرُوۡشِهَا وَبِئۡرٍ مُّعَطَّلَةٍ وَّقَصۡرٍ مَّشِيۡدٍ‏(الحج :45)

فَكَأَيِّن
And how many
مِّن
of
قَرْيَةٍ
a township
أَهْلَكْنَٰهَا
We have destroyed it
وَهِىَ
while it
ظَالِمَةٌ
was doing wrong
فَهِىَ
so it
خَاوِيَةٌ
fell
عَلَىٰ
on
عُرُوشِهَا
its roofs
وَبِئْرٍ
and well
مُّعَطَّلَةٍ
abandoned
وَقَصْرٍ
and castle
مَّشِيدٍ
lofty

Fakaayyin min qaryatin ahlaknaha wahiya thalimatun fahiya khawiyatun 'ala 'urooshiha wabirin mu'attalatin waqasrin masheedin

Sahih International:

And how many a city did We destroy while it was committing wrong - so it is [now] fallen into ruin - and [how many] an abandoned well and [how many] a lofty palace.

Surah [57] Al-Hadid : 13

يَوۡمَ يَقُوۡلُ الۡمُنٰفِقُوۡنَ وَالۡمُنٰفِقٰتُ لِلَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوا انْظُرُوۡنَا نَقۡتَبِسۡ مِنۡ نُّوۡرِكُمۡ‌ۚ قِيۡلَ ارۡجِعُوۡا وَرَآءَكُمۡ فَالۡتَمِسُوۡا نُوۡرًاؕ فَضُرِبَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ بِسُوۡرٍ لَّهٗ بَابٌؕ بَاطِنُهٗ فِيۡهِ الرَّحۡمَةُ وَظَاهِرُهٗ مِنۡ قِبَلِهِ الۡعَذَابُؕ(الحديد :13)

يَوْمَ
(On the) Day
يَقُولُ
will say
ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ
the hypocrite men
وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقَٰتُ
and the hypocrite women
لِلَّذِينَ
to those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
believed
ٱنظُرُونَا
"Wait for us
نَقْتَبِسْ
we may acquire
مِن
of
نُّورِكُمْ
your light"
قِيلَ
It will be said
ٱرْجِعُوا۟
"Go back
وَرَآءَكُمْ
behind you
فَٱلْتَمِسُوا۟
and seek
نُورًا
light"
فَضُرِبَ
Then will be put up
بَيْنَهُم
between them
بِسُورٍ
a wall
لَّهُۥ
for it
بَابٌۢ
a gate
بَاطِنُهُۥ
its interior
فِيهِ
in it
ٱلرَّحْمَةُ
(is) mercy
وَظَٰهِرُهُۥ
but its exterior
مِن
facing towards [it]
قِبَلِهِ
facing towards [it]
ٱلْعَذَابُ
the punishment

Yawma yaqoolu almunafiqoona waalmunafiqatu lillatheena amanoo onthuroona naqtabis min noorikum qeela irji'oo waraakum failtamisoo nooran faduriba baynahum bisoorin lahu babun batinuhu feehi alrrahmatu wathahiruhu min qibalihi al'athabu

Sahih International:

On the [same] Day the hypocrite men and hypocrite women will say to those who believed, "Wait for us that we may acquire some of your light." It will be said, "Go back behind you and seek light." And a wall will be placed between them with a door, its interior containing mercy, but on the outside of it is torment.

Surah [59] Al-Hashr : 14

لَا يُقَاتِلُوۡنَكُمۡ جَمِيۡعًا اِلَّا فِىۡ قُرًى مُّحَصَّنَةٍ اَوۡ مِنۡ وَّرَآءِ جُدُرٍؕ بَاۡسُهُمۡ بَيۡنَهُمۡ شَدِيۡدٌ ‌ؕ تَحۡسَبُهُمۡ جَمِيۡعًا وَّقُلُوۡبُهُمۡ شَتّٰى‌ؕ ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمۡ قَوۡمٌ لَّا يَعۡقِلُوۡنَ‌ۚ(الحشر :14)

لَا
Not
يُقَٰتِلُونَكُمْ
will they fight you
جَمِيعًا
all
إِلَّا
except
فِى
in
قُرًى
towns
مُّحَصَّنَةٍ
fortified
أَوْ
or
مِن
from
وَرَآءِ
behind
جُدُرٍۭۚ
walls
بَأْسُهُم
Their violence
بَيْنَهُمْ
among themselves
شَدِيدٌۚ
(is) severe
تَحْسَبُهُمْ
You think they
جَمِيعًا
(are) united
وَقُلُوبُهُمْ
but their hearts
شَتَّىٰۚ
(are) divided
ذَٰلِكَ
That
بِأَنَّهُمْ
(is) because they
قَوْمٌ
(are) a people
لَّا
not
يَعْقِلُونَ
they reason

La yuqatiloonakum jamee'an illa fee quran muhassanatin aw min warai judurin basuhum baynahum shadeedun tahsabuhum jamee'an waquloobuhum shatta thalika biannahum qawmun la ya'qiloona

Sahih International:

They will not fight you all except within fortified cities or from behind walls. Their violence among themselves is severe. You think they are together, but their hearts are diverse. That is because they are a people who do not reason.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [61] As-Saff : 4

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُحِبُّ الَّذِيۡنَ يُقَاتِلُوۡنَ فِىۡ سَبِيۡلِهٖ صَفًّا كَاَنَّهُمۡ بُنۡيَانٌ مَّرۡصُوۡصٌ(الصف :4)

إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يُحِبُّ
loves
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
يُقَٰتِلُونَ
fight
فِى
in
سَبِيلِهِۦ
His Way
صَفًّا
(in) a row
كَأَنَّهُم
as if they
بُنْيَٰنٌ
(were) a structure
مَّرْصُوصٌ
joined firmly

Inna Allaha yuhibbu allatheena yuqatiloona fee sabeelihi saffan kaannahum bunyanun marsoosun

Sahih International:

Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His cause in a row as though they are a [single] structure joined firmly.
