فَاِنْ تَابُوْا وَاَقَامُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتَوُا الزَّكٰوةَ فَاِخْوَانُكُمْ فِى الدِّيْنِ ۗوَنُفَصِّلُ الْاٰيٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَّعْلَمُوْنَ ( التوبة: ١١ )
wa-aqāmū
وَأَقَامُوا۟
and establish
l-ṣalata
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
the prayer
waātawū
وَءَاتَوُا۟
and give
l-zakata
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
the zakah
fa-ikh'wānukum
فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ
then (they are) your brothers
l-dīni
ٱلدِّينِۗ
[the] religion
wanufaṣṣilu
وَنُفَصِّلُ
And We explain in detail
l-āyāti
ٱلْءَايَٰتِ
the Verses
liqawmin
لِقَوْمٍ
for a people
yaʿlamūna
يَعْلَمُونَ
(who) know
But if they repent, establish prayer, and give Zakah, then they are your brothers in religion; and We detail the verses for a people who know.
وَاِنْ نَّكَثُوْٓا اَيْمَانَهُمْ مِّنْۢ بَعْدِ عَهْدِهِمْ وَطَعَنُوْا فِيْ دِيْنِكُمْ فَقَاتِلُوْٓا اَىِٕمَّةَ الْكُفْرِۙ اِنَّهُمْ لَآ اَيْمَانَ لَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَنْتَهُوْنَ ( التوبة: ١٢ )
nakathū
نَّكَثُوٓا۟
they break
aymānahum
أَيْمَٰنَهُم
their oaths
ʿahdihim
عَهْدِهِمْ
their treaty
waṭaʿanū
وَطَعَنُوا۟
and defame
dīnikum
دِينِكُمْ
your religion
faqātilū
فَقَٰتِلُوٓا۟
then fight
a-immata
أَئِمَّةَ
the leaders
l-kuf'ri
ٱلْكُفْرِۙ
(of) [the] disbelief
innahum
إِنَّهُمْ
indeed, they
laʿallahum
لَعَلَّهُمْ
so that they may
yantahūna
يَنتَهُونَ
cease
And if they break their oaths after their treaty and defame your religion, then combat the leaders of disbelief, for indeed, there are no oaths [sacred] to them; [fight them that] they might cease.
اَلَا تُقَاتِلُوْنَ قَوْمًا نَّكَثُوْٓا اَيْمَانَهُمْ وَهَمُّوْا بِاِخْرَاجِ الرَّسُوْلِ وَهُمْ بَدَءُوْكُمْ اَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍۗ اَتَخْشَوْنَهُمْ ۚفَاللّٰهُ اَحَقُّ اَنْ تَخْشَوْهُ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ ( التوبة: ١٣ )
tuqātilūna
تُقَٰتِلُونَ
you fight
nakathū
نَّكَثُوٓا۟
who broke
aymānahum
أَيْمَٰنَهُمْ
their oaths
wahammū
وَهَمُّوا۟
and determined
bi-ikh'rāji
بِإِخْرَاجِ
to drive out
l-rasūli
ٱلرَّسُولِ
the Messenger
badaūkum
بَدَءُوكُمْ
began (to attack) you
atakhshawnahum
أَتَخْشَوْنَهُمْۚ
Do you fear them?
fal-lahu
فَٱللَّهُ
But Allah
aḥaqqu
أَحَقُّ
(has) more right
takhshawhu
تَخْشَوْهُ
you should fear Him
mu'minīna
مُّؤْمِنِينَ
believers
Would you not fight against a people who broke their oaths and determined to expel the Messenger, and they had begun [the attack upon] you the first time? Do you fear them? But Allah has more right that you should fear Him, if you are [truly] believers.
قَاتِلُوْهُمْ يُعَذِّبْهُمُ اللّٰهُ بِاَيْدِيْكُمْ وَيُخْزِهِمْ وَيَنْصُرْكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيَشْفِ صُدُوْرَ قَوْمٍ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَۙ ( التوبة: ١٤ )
qātilūhum
قَٰتِلُوهُمْ
Fight them
yuʿadhib'humu
يُعَذِّبْهُمُ
Allah will punish them
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah will punish them
bi-aydīkum
بِأَيْدِيكُمْ
by your hands
wayukh'zihim
وَيُخْزِهِمْ
and disgrace them
wayanṣur'kum
وَيَنصُرْكُمْ
and give you victory
ʿalayhim
عَلَيْهِمْ
over them
wayashfi
وَيَشْفِ
and will heal
ṣudūra
صُدُورَ
(the) breasts
qawmin
قَوْمٍ
(of) a people
mu'minīna
مُّؤْمِنِينَ
(who are) believers
Fight them; Allah will punish them by your hands and will disgrace them and give you victory over them and satisfy the breasts [i.e., desires] of a believing people
وَيُذْهِبْ غَيْظَ قُلُوْبِهِمْۗ وَيَتُوْبُ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُۗ وَاللّٰهُ عَلِيْمٌ حَكِيْمٌ ( التوبة: ١٥ )
wayudh'hib
وَيُذْهِبْ
And remove
qulūbihim
قُلُوبِهِمْۗ
(of) their hearts
wayatūbu
وَيَتُوبُ
And Allah accepts repentance
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
And Allah accepts repentance
wal-lahu
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
ʿalīmun
عَلِيمٌ
(is) All-Knower
And remove the fury in their [i.e., the believers'] hearts. And Allah turns in forgiveness to whom He wills; and Allah is Knowing and Wise.
اَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ اَنْ تُتْرَكُوْا وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيْنَ جَاهَدُوْا مِنْكُمْ وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذُوْا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ وَلَا رَسُوْلِهٖ وَلَا الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَلِيْجَةً ۗوَاللّٰهُ خَبِيْرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ ࣖ ( التوبة: ١٦ )
ḥasib'tum
حَسِبْتُمْ
(do) you think
tut'rakū
تُتْرَكُوا۟
you would be left
walammā
وَلَمَّا
while not
yaʿlami
يَعْلَمِ
Allah made evident
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah made evident
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
yattakhidhū
يَتَّخِذُوا۟
take
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
besides Allah
rasūlihi
رَسُولِهِۦ
His Messenger
l-mu'minīna
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
the believers
walījatan
وَلِيجَةًۚ
(as) intimates?
wal-lahu
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
khabīrun
خَبِيرٌۢ
(is) All-Aware
taʿmalūna
تَعْمَلُونَ
you do
Do you think that you will be left [as you are] while Allah has not yet made evident those among you who strive [for His cause] and do not take other than Allah, His Messenger and the believers as intimates? And Allah is [fully] Aware of what you do.
مَا كَانَ لِلْمُشْرِكِيْنَ اَنْ يَّعْمُرُوْا مَسٰجِدَ اللّٰهِ شٰهِدِيْنَ عَلٰٓى اَنْفُسِهِمْ بِالْكُفْرِۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ حَبِطَتْ اَعْمَالُهُمْۚ وَ فِى النَّارِ هُمْ خٰلِدُوْنَ ( التوبة: ١٧ )
lil'mush'rikīna
لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ
for the polytheists
yaʿmurū
يَعْمُرُوا۟
they maintain
masājida
مَسَٰجِدَ
(the) masajid of Allah
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
(the) masajid of Allah
shāhidīna
شَٰهِدِينَ
(while) witnessing
anfusihim
أَنفُسِهِم
themselves
bil-kuf'ri
بِٱلْكُفْرِۚ
[with] disbelief
ulāika
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
(For) those
ḥabiṭat
حَبِطَتْ
worthless
aʿmāluhum
أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ
(are) their deeds
khālidūna
خَٰلِدُونَ
(will) abide forever
It is not for the polytheists to maintain the mosques of Allah [while] witnessing against themselves with disbelief. [For] those, their deeds have become worthless, and in the Fire they will abide eternally.
اِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسٰجِدَ اللّٰهِ مَنْ اٰمَنَ بِاللّٰهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِ وَاَقَامَ الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتَى الزَّكٰوةَ وَلَمْ يَخْشَ اِلَّا اللّٰهَ ۗفَعَسٰٓى اُولٰۤىِٕكَ اَنْ يَّكُوْنُوْا مِنَ الْمُهْتَدِيْنَ ( التوبة: ١٨ )
yaʿmuru
يَعْمُرُ
will maintain
masājida
مَسَٰجِدَ
(the) masajid of Allah
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
(the) masajid of Allah
bil-lahi
بِٱللَّهِ
in Allah
wal-yawmi
وَٱلْيَوْمِ
and the Day
l-ākhiri
ٱلْءَاخِرِ
the Last
wa-aqāma
وَأَقَامَ
and establishes
l-ṣalata
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
the prayer
l-zakata
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
the zakah
faʿasā
فَعَسَىٰٓ
Then perhaps
yakūnū
يَكُونُوا۟
they are
l-muh'tadīna
ٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ
the guided ones
The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day and establish prayer and give Zakah and do not fear except Allah, for it is expected that those will be of the [rightly] guided.
۞ اَجَعَلْتُمْ سِقَايَةَ الْحَاۤجِّ وَعِمَارَةَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ كَمَنْ اٰمَنَ بِاللّٰهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِ وَجَاهَدَ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ ۗ لَا يَسْتَوٗنَ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ ۗوَاللّٰهُ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَۘ ( التوبة: ١٩ )
ajaʿaltum
أَجَعَلْتُمْ
Do you make
siqāyata
سِقَايَةَ
the providing of water
l-ḥāji
ٱلْحَآجِّ
(to) the pilgrims
waʿimārata
وَعِمَارَةَ
and (the) maintenance
l-masjidi
ٱلْمَسْجِدِ
(of) Al-Masjid Al-Haraam
l-ḥarāmi
ٱلْحَرَامِ
(of) Al-Masjid Al-Haraam
kaman
كَمَنْ
like (the one) who
bil-lahi
بِٱللَّهِ
in Allah
wal-yawmi
وَٱلْيَوْمِ
and the Day
l-ākhiri
ٱلْءَاخِرِ
the Last
wajāhada
وَجَٰهَدَ
and strives
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِۚ
(of) Allah?
yastawūna
يَسْتَوُۥنَ
They are not equal
wal-lahu
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
l-qawma
ٱلْقَوْمَ
the people
l-ẓālimīna
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers
Have you made the providing of water for the pilgrim and the maintenance of al-Masjid al-Haram equal to [the deeds of] one who believes in Allah and the Last Day and strives in the cause of Allah? They are not equal in the sight of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
اَلَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَهَاجَرُوْا وَجَاهَدُوْا فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ بِاَمْوَالِهِمْ وَاَنْفُسِهِمْۙ اَعْظَمُ دَرَجَةً عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ ۗوَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْفَاۤىِٕزُوْنَ ( التوبة: ٢٠ )
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
wahājarū
وَهَاجَرُوا۟
and emigrated
wajāhadū
وَجَٰهَدُوا۟
and strove
bi-amwālihim
بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ
with their wealth
wa-anfusihim
وَأَنفُسِهِمْ
and their lives
aʿẓamu
أَعْظَمُ
(are) greater
darajatan
دَرَجَةً
(in) rank
wa-ulāika
وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
And those -
l-fāizūna
ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ
(are) the successful
The ones who have believed, emigrated and striven in the cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives are greater in rank in the sight of Allah. And it is those who are the attainers [of success].
