وَاِذۡ قَالَ مُوۡسٰى لِقَوۡمِهٖۤ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَاۡمُرُكُمۡ اَنۡ تَذۡبَحُوۡا بَقَرَةً ؕ قَالُوۡآ اَتَتَّخِذُنَا هُزُوًۡا ؕ قَالَ اَعُوۡذُ بِاللّٰهِ اَنۡ اَكُوۡنَ مِنَ الۡجٰـهِلِيۡنَ(البقرة :67)
Waith qala moosa liqawmihi inna Allaha yamurukum an tathbahoo baqaratan qaloo atattakhithuna huzuwan qala a'oothu biAllahi an akoona mina aljahileena
Sahih International:
And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "Indeed, Allah commands you to slaughter a cow." They said, "Do you take us in ridicule?" He said, "I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant."
قَالُوا ادۡعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّنۡ لَّنَا مَا هِىَؕ قَالَ اِنَّهٗ يَقُوۡلُ اِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ لَّا فَارِضٌ وَّلَا بِكۡرٌؕ عَوَانٌۢ بَيۡنَ ذٰلِكَؕ فَافۡعَلُوۡا مَا تُؤۡمَرُوۡنَ(البقرة :68)
Qaloo od'u lana rabbaka yubayyin lana ma hiya qala innahu yaqoolu innaha baqaratun la faridun wala bikrun 'awanun bayna thalika faif'aloo ma tumaroona
Sahih International:
They said, "Call upon your Lord to make clear to us what it is." [Moses] said, "[ Allah ] says, 'It is a cow which is neither old nor virgin, but median between that,' so do what you are commanded."
قَالُوا ادۡعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّنۡ لَّنَا مَا لَوۡنُهَا ؕ قَالَ اِنَّهٗ يَقُوۡلُ اِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ صَفۡرَآءُۙ فَاقِعٌ لَّوۡنُهَا تَسُرُّ النّٰظِرِيۡنَ(البقرة :69)
Qaloo od'u lana rabbaka yubayyin lana ma lawnuha qala innahu yaqoolu innaha baqaratun safrao faqi'un lawnuha tasurru alnnathireena
Sahih International:
They said, "Call upon your Lord to show us what is her color." He said, "He says, 'It is a yellow cow, bright in color - pleasing to the observers.' "
قَالُوا ادۡعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّنۡ لَّنَا مَا هِىَۙ اِنَّ الۡبَقَرَ تَشٰبَهَ عَلَيۡنَا ؕ وَاِنَّـآ اِنۡ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ لَمُهۡتَدُوۡنَ(البقرة :70)
Qaloo od'u lana rabbaka yubayyin lana ma hiya inna albaqara tashabaha 'alayna wainna in shaa Allahu lamuhtadoona
Sahih International:
They said, "Call upon your Lord to make clear to us what it is. Indeed, [all] cows look alike to us. And indeed we, if Allah wills, will be guided."
قَالَ اِنَّهٗ يَقُوۡلُ اِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ لَّا ذَلُوۡلٌ تُثِيۡرُ الۡاَرۡضَ وَلَا تَسۡقِى الۡحَـرۡثَ ۚ مُسَلَّمَةٌ لَّا شِيَةَ فِيۡهَا ؕ قَالُوا الۡــٴٰــنَ جِئۡتَ بِالۡحَـقِّؕ فَذَبَحُوۡهَا وَمَا كَادُوۡا يَفۡعَلُوۡنَ(البقرة :71)
Qala innahu yaqoolu innaha baqaratun la thaloolun tutheeru alarda wala tasqee alhartha musallamatun la shiyata feeha qaloo alana jita bialhaqqi fathabahooha wama kadoo yaf'aloona
Sahih International:
He said, "He says, 'It is a cow neither trained to plow the earth nor to irrigate the field, one free from fault with no spot upon her.' " They said, "Now you have come with the truth." So they slaughtered her, but they could hardly do it.
وَقَالَ الۡمَلِكُ اِنِّىۡۤ اَرٰى سَبۡعَ بَقَرٰتٍ سِمَانٍ يَّاۡكُلُهُنَّ سَبۡعٌ عِجَافٌ وَّسَبۡعَ سُنۡۢبُلٰتٍ خُضۡرٍ وَّاُخَرَ يٰبِسٰتٍؕ يٰۤاَيُّهَا الۡمَلَاُ اَفۡتُوۡنِىۡ فِىۡ رُءۡيَاىَ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ لِلرُّءۡيَا تَعۡبُرُوۡنَ(يوسف :43)
Waqala almaliku innee ara sab'a baqaratin simanin yakuluhunna sab'un 'ijafun wasab'a sunbulatin khudrin waokhara yabisatin ya ayyuha almalao aftoonee fee ruyaya in kuntum lilrruya ta'buroona
Sahih International:
And [subsequently] the king said, "Indeed, I have seen [in a dream] seven fat cows being eaten by seven [that were] lean, and seven green spikes [of grain] and others [that were] dry. O eminent ones, explain to me my vision, if you should interpret visions."
قَالُوۡۤا اَضۡغَاثُ اَحۡلَامٍۚ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِتَاۡوِيۡلِ الۡاَحۡلَامِ بِعٰلِمِيۡنَ(يوسف :44)
Qaloo adghathu ahlamin wama nahnu bitaweeli alahlami bi'alimeena
Sahih International:
They said, "[It is but] a mixture of false dreams, and we are not learned in the interpretation of dreams."
وَقَالَ الَّذِىۡ نَجَا مِنۡهُمَا وَادَّكَرَ بَعۡدَ اُمَّةٍ اَنَا اُنَـبِّئُكُمۡ بِتَاۡوِيۡلِهٖ فَاَرۡسِلُوۡنِ(يوسف :45)
Waqala allathee naja minhuma waiddakara ba'da ommatin ana onabbiokum bitaweelihi faarsilooni
Sahih International:
But the one who was freed and remembered after a time said, "I will inform you of its interpretation, so send me forth."
يُوۡسُفُ اَيُّهَا الصِّدِّيۡقُ اَ فۡتِنَا فِىۡ سَبۡعِ بَقَرٰتٍ سِمَانٍ يَّاۡكُلُهُنَّ سَبۡعٌ عِجَافٌ وَّسَبۡعِ سُنۡۢبُلٰتٍ خُضۡرٍ وَّاُخَرَ يٰبِسٰتٍ ۙ لَّعَلِّىۡۤ اَرۡجِعُ اِلَى النَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ(يوسف :46)
Yoosufu ayyuha alssiddeequ aftina fee sab'i baqaratin simanin yakuluhunna sab'un 'ijafun wasab'i sunbulatin khudrin waokhara yabisatin la'allee arji'u ila alnnasi la'allahum ya'lamoona
Sahih International:
[He said], "Joseph, O man of truth, explain to us about seven fat cows eaten by seven [that were] lean, and seven green spikes [of grain] and others [that were] dry - that I may return to the people; perhaps they will know [about you]."
