Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 108

اَمۡ تُرِيۡدُوۡنَ اَنۡ تَسۡـَٔـلُوۡا رَسُوۡلَـكُمۡ كَمَا سُٮِٕلَ مُوۡسٰى مِنۡ قَبۡلُ‌ؕ وَمَنۡ يَّتَبَدَّلِ الۡکُفۡرَ بِالۡاِيۡمَانِ فَقَدۡ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ السَّبِيۡلِ(البقرة :108)

أَمْ
Or
تُرِيدُونَ
(do) you wish
أَن
that
تَسْـَٔلُوا۟
you ask
رَسُولَكُمْ
your Messenger
كَمَا
as
سُئِلَ
was asked
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
مِن
from
قَبْلُۗ
before?
وَمَن
And whoever
يَتَبَدَّلِ
exchanges
ٱلْكُفْرَ
[the] disbelief
بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ
with [the] faith
فَقَدْ
so certainly
ضَلَّ
he went astray (from)
سَوَآءَ
(the) evenness
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
(of) the way

Am tureedoona an tasaloo rasoolakum kama suila moosa min qablu waman yatabaddali alkufra bialeemani faqad dalla sawaa alssabeeli

Sahih International:

Or do you intend to ask your Messenger as Moses was asked before? And whoever exchanges faith for disbelief has certainly strayed from the soundness of the way.

Surah [3] Ali Imran : 167

‌وَلِيَعۡلَمَ الَّذِيۡنَ نَافَقُوۡا  ۖۚ وَقِيۡلَ لَهُمۡ تَعَالَوۡا قَاتِلُوۡا فِىۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ اَوِ ادۡفَعُوۡا ‌ۚ قَالُوۡا لَوۡ نَعۡلَمُ قِتَالًا لَّا تَّبَعۡنٰكُمۡ‌ؕ هُمۡ لِلۡكُفۡرِ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ اَقۡرَبُ مِنۡهُمۡ لِلۡاِيۡمَانِ‌ۚ يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ بِاَفۡوَاهِهِمۡ مَّا لَيۡسَ فِىۡ قُلُوۡبِهِمۡ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ اَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يَكۡتُمُوۡنَ‌ۚ(آل عمران :167)

وَلِيَعْلَمَ
And that He (might) make evident
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
نَافَقُوا۟ۚ
(are) hypocrites
وَقِيلَ
And it was said
لَهُمْ
to them
تَعَالَوْا۟
"Come
قَٰتِلُوا۟
fight
فِى
in
سَبِيلِ
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
أَوِ
or
ٱدْفَعُوا۟ۖ
defend"
قَالُوا۟
They said
لَوْ
"If
نَعْلَمُ
we knew
قِتَالًا
fighting
لَّٱتَّبَعْنَٰكُمْۗ
certainly we (would have) followed you"
هُمْ
They -
لِلْكُفْرِ
to disbelief
يَوْمَئِذٍ
that day
أَقْرَبُ
(were) nearer
مِنْهُمْ
than [them]
لِلْإِيمَٰنِۚ
to the faith
يَقُولُونَ
saying
بِأَفْوَٰهِهِم
with their mouths
مَّا
what
لَيْسَ
was not
فِى
in
قُلُوبِهِمْۗ
their hearts
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
أَعْلَمُ
(is) Most Knowing
بِمَا
(of) what
يَكْتُمُونَ
they conceal

Waliya'lama allatheena nafaqoo waqeela lahum ta'alaw qatiloo fee sabeeli Allahi awi idfa'oo qaloo law na'lamu qitalan laittaba'nakum hum lilkufri yawmaithin aqrabu minhum lileemani yaqooloona biafwahihim ma laysa fee quloobihim waAllahu a'lamu bima yaktumoona

Sahih International:

And that He might make evident those who are hypocrites. For it was said to them, "Come, fight in the way of Allah or [at least] defend." They said, "If we had known [there would be] fighting, we would have followed you." They were nearer to disbelief that day than to faith, saying with their mouths what was not in their hearts. And Allah is most Knowing of what they conceal -

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [3] Ali Imran : 177

اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ اشۡتَرَوُا الۡكُفۡرَ بِالۡاِيۡمَانِ لَنۡ يَّضُرُّوا اللّٰهَ شَيۡـــًٔا ‌ۚ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ اَ لِيۡمٌ(آل عمران :177)

إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ٱشْتَرَوُا۟
(have) purchased
ٱلْكُفْرَ
[the] disbelief
بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ
with the faith
لَن
never
يَضُرُّوا۟
will they harm
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
شَيْـًٔا
(in) anything
وَلَهُمْ
and for them
عَذَابٌ
(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٌ
painful

Inna allatheena ishtarawoo alkufra bialeemani lan yadurroo Allaha shayan walahum 'athabun aleemun

Sahih International:

Indeed, those who purchase disbelief [in exchange] for faith - never will they harm Allah at all, and for them is a painful punishment.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [3] Ali Imran : 193

رَبَّنَاۤ اِنَّنَا سَمِعۡنَا مُنَادِيًا يُّنَادِىۡ لِلۡاِيۡمَانِ اَنۡ اٰمِنُوۡا بِرَبِّكُمۡ فَاٰمَنَّا  ۖرَبَّنَا فَاغۡفِرۡ لَنَا ذُنُوۡبَنَا وَكَفِّرۡ عَنَّا سَيِّاٰتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ الۡاَبۡرَارِ‌ۚ(آل عمران :193)

رَّبَّنَآ
Our Lord
إِنَّنَا
indeed we
سَمِعْنَا
[we] heard
مُنَادِيًا
a caller
يُنَادِى
calling
لِلْإِيمَٰنِ
to the faith
أَنْ
that
ءَامِنُوا۟
"Believe
بِرَبِّكُمْ
in your Lord"
فَـَٔامَنَّاۚ
so we have believed
رَبَّنَا
Our Lord
فَٱغْفِرْ
so forgive
لَنَا
for us
ذُنُوبَنَا
our sins
وَكَفِّرْ
and remove
عَنَّا
from us
سَيِّـَٔاتِنَا
our evil deeds
وَتَوَفَّنَا
and cause us to die
مَعَ
with
ٱلْأَبْرَارِ
the righteous

Rabbana innana sami'na munadiyan yunadee lileemani an aminoo birabbikum faamanna rabbana faighfir lana thunoobana wakaffir 'anna sayyiatina watawaffana ma'a alabrari

Sahih International:

Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, [saying], 'Believe in your Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord, so forgive us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous.

Surah [5] Al-Ma'ida : 5

اَلۡيَوۡمَ اُحِلَّ لَـكُمُ الطَّيِّبٰتُ‌ ؕ وَطَعَامُ الَّذِيۡنَ اُوۡتُوۡا الۡكِتٰبَ حِلٌّ لَّـکُمۡ ۖ وَطَعَامُكُمۡ حِلٌّ لَّهُمۡ‌ وَالۡمُحۡصَنٰتُ مِنَ الۡمُؤۡمِنٰتِ وَالۡمُحۡصَنٰتُ مِنَ الَّذِيۡنَ اُوۡتُوا الۡـكِتٰبَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِكُمۡ اِذَاۤ اٰتَيۡتُمُوۡهُنَّ اُجُوۡرَهُنَّ مُحۡصِنِيۡنَ غَيۡرَ مُسَافِحِيۡنَ وَلَا مُتَّخِذِىۡۤ اَخۡدَانٍ‌ؕ وَمَنۡ يَّكۡفُرۡ بِالۡاِيۡمَانِ فَقَدۡ حَبِطَ عَمَلُهٗ وَهُوَ فِى الۡاٰخِرَةِ مِنَ الۡخٰسِرِيۡنَ(المائدة :5)

ٱلْيَوْمَ
This day
أُحِلَّ
are made lawful
لَكُمُ
for you
ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُۖ
the good things
وَطَعَامُ
and (the) food
ٱلَّذِينَ
(of) those who
أُوتُوا۟
were given
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
حِلٌّ
(is) lawful
لَّكُمْ
for you
وَطَعَامُكُمْ
and your food
حِلٌّ
(is) lawful
لَّهُمْۖ
for them
وَٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتُ
And the chaste women
مِنَ
from
ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ
the believers
وَٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتُ
and the chaste women
مِنَ
from
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
أُوتُوا۟
were given
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
مِن
from
قَبْلِكُمْ
before you
إِذَآ
when
ءَاتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ
you have given them
أُجُورَهُنَّ
their bridal due
مُحْصِنِينَ
being chaste
غَيْرَ
not
مُسَٰفِحِينَ
being lewd
وَلَا
and not
مُتَّخِذِىٓ
ones (who are) taking
أَخْدَانٍۗ
secret lovers
وَمَن
And whoever
يَكْفُرْ
denies
بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ
the faith
فَقَدْ
then surely
حَبِطَ
(are) wasted
عَمَلُهُۥ
his deeds
وَهُوَ
and he
فِى
in
ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ
the Hereafter
مِنَ
(will be) among
ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
the losers

Alyawma ohilla lakumu alttayyibatu wata'amu allatheena ootoo alkitaba hillun lakum wata'amukum hillun lahum waalmuhsanatu mina almuminati waalmuhsanatu mina allatheena ootoo alkitaba min qablikum itha ataytumoohunna ojoorahunna muhsineena ghayra musafiheena wala muttakhithee akhdanin waman yakfur bialeemani faqad habita 'amaluhu wahuwa fee alakhirati mina alkhasireena

Sahih International:

This day [all] good foods have been made lawful, and the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them. And [lawful in marriage are] chaste women from among the believers and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture before you, when you have given them their due compensation, desiring chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse or taking [secret] lovers. And whoever denies the faith - his work has become worthless, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.

Surah [9] At-Tawba : 23

يٰۤاَ يُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا لَا تَتَّخِذُوۡۤا اٰبَآءَكُمۡ وَاِخۡوَانَـكُمۡ اَوۡلِيَآءَ اِنِ اسۡتَحَبُّوا الۡـكُفۡرَ عَلَى الۡاِيۡمَانِ‌ ؕ وَمَنۡ يَّتَوَلَّهُمۡ مِّنۡكُمۡ فَاُولٰۤٮِٕكَ هُمُ الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ(التوبة :23)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
who
ءَامَنُوا۟
believe!
لَا
(Do) not
تَتَّخِذُوٓا۟
take
ءَابَآءَكُمْ
your fathers
وَإِخْوَٰنَكُمْ
and your brothers
أَوْلِيَآءَ
(as) allies
إِنِ
if
ٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟
they prefer
ٱلْكُفْرَ
[the] disbelief
عَلَى
over
ٱلْإِيمَٰنِۚ
[the] belief
وَمَن
And whoever
يَتَوَلَّهُم
takes them as allies
مِّنكُمْ
among you
فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
then those
هُمُ
[they]
ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
(are) the wrongdoers

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattakhithoo abaakum waikhwanakum awliyaa ini istahabboo alkufra 'ala aleemani waman yatawallahum minkum faolaika humu alththalimoona

Sahih International:

O you who have believed, do not take your fathers or your brothers as allies if they have preferred disbelief over belief. And whoever does so among you - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [16] An-Nahl : 106

مَنۡ كَفَرَ بِاللّٰهِ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ اِيۡمَانِهٖۤ اِلَّا مَنۡ اُكۡرِهَ وَقَلۡبُهٗ مُطۡمَٮِٕنٌّۢ بِالۡاِيۡمَانِ وَلٰـكِنۡ مَّنۡ شَرَحَ بِالۡكُفۡرِ صَدۡرًا فَعَلَيۡهِمۡ غَضَبٌ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ‌ۚ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ عَظِيۡمٌ(النحل :106)

مَن
Whoever
كَفَرَ
disbelieves
بِٱللَّهِ
in Allah
مِنۢ
after
بَعْدِ
after
إِيمَٰنِهِۦٓ
his belief
إِلَّا
except
مَنْ
(one) who
أُكْرِهَ
is forced
وَقَلْبُهُۥ
while his heart
مُطْمَئِنٌّۢ
(is) content
بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ
with the faith
وَلَٰكِن
But
مَّن
(one) who
شَرَحَ
opens
بِٱلْكُفْرِ
to disbelief
صَدْرًا
(his) breast
فَعَلَيْهِمْ
then upon them
غَضَبٌ
(is) a wrath
مِّنَ
of
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
وَلَهُمْ
and for them
عَذَابٌ
(is) a punishment
عَظِيمٌ
great

Man kafara biAllahi min ba'di eemanihi illa man okriha waqalbuhu mutmainnun bialeemani walakin man sharaha bialkufri sadran fa'alayhim ghadabun mina Allahi walahum 'athabun 'atheemun

Sahih International:

Whoever disbelieves in Allah after his belief... except for one who is forced [to renounce his religion] while his heart is secure in faith. But those who [willingly] open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allah, and for them is a great punishment;

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [30] Ar-Rum : 56

وَقَالَ الَّذِيۡنَ اُوۡتُوا الۡعِلۡمَ وَ الۡاِيۡمَانَ لَقَدۡ لَبِثۡـتُمۡ فِىۡ كِتٰبِ اللّٰهِ اِلٰى يَوۡمِ الۡبَـعۡثِۖ فَهٰذَا يَوۡمُ الۡبَـعۡثِ وَلٰـكِنَّكُمۡ كُنۡـتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ‏(الروم :56)

وَقَالَ
But will say
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
أُوتُوا۟
were given
ٱلْعِلْمَ
the knowledge
وَٱلْإِيمَٰنَ
and the faith
لَقَدْ
"Verily
لَبِثْتُمْ
you remained
فِى
by
كِتَٰبِ
(the) Decree
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
إِلَىٰ
until
يَوْمِ
(the) Day
ٱلْبَعْثِۖ
(of) Resurrection
فَهَٰذَا
And this
يَوْمُ
(is the) Day
ٱلْبَعْثِ
(of) the Resurrection
وَلَٰكِنَّكُمْ
but you
كُنتُمْ
were
لَا
not
تَعْلَمُونَ
knowing

Waqala allatheena ootoo al'ilma waaleemana laqad labithtum fee kitabi Allahi ila yawmi alba'thi fahatha yawmu alba'thi walakinnakum kuntum la ta'lamoona

Sahih International:

But those who were given knowledge and faith will say, "You remained the extent of Allah 's decree until the Day of Resurrection, and this is the Day of Resurrection, but you did not used to know."

Surah [40] Al-Mu'min : 10

اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا يُنَادَوۡنَ لَمَقۡتُ اللّٰهِ اَكۡبَرُ مِنۡ مَّقۡتِكُمۡ اَنۡفُسَكُمۡ اِذۡ تُدۡعَوۡنَ اِلَى الۡاِيۡمَانِ فَتَكۡفُرُوۡنَ‏(غافر :10)

إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieved
يُنَادَوْنَ
will be cried out to them
لَمَقْتُ
Certainly Allah's hatred
ٱللَّهِ
Certainly Allah's hatred
أَكْبَرُ
(was) greater
مِن
than
مَّقْتِكُمْ
your hatred
أَنفُسَكُمْ
(of) yourselves
إِذْ
when
تُدْعَوْنَ
you were called
إِلَى
to
ٱلْإِيمَٰنِ
the faith
فَتَكْفُرُونَ
and you disbelieved

Inna allatheena kafaroo yunadawna lamaqtu Allahi akbaru min maqtikum anfusakum ith tud'awna ila aleemani fatakfuroona

Sahih International:

Indeed, those who disbelieve will be addressed, "The hatred of Allah for you was [even] greater than your hatred of yourselves [this Day in Hell] when you were invited to faith, but you refused."

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [42] Ash-Shura : 52

وَكَذٰلِكَ اَوۡحَيۡنَاۤ اِلَيۡكَ رُوۡحًا مِّنۡ اَمۡرِنَا‌ ؕ مَا كُنۡتَ تَدۡرِىۡ مَا الۡكِتٰبُ وَلَا الۡاِيۡمَانُ وَلٰـكِنۡ جَعَلۡنٰهُ نُوۡرًا نَّهۡدِىۡ بِهٖ مَنۡ نَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا‌ ؕ وَاِنَّكَ لَتَهۡدِىۡۤ اِلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُّسۡتَقِيۡمٍۙ(الشورى :52)

وَكَذَٰلِكَ
And thus
أَوْحَيْنَآ
We have revealed
إِلَيْكَ
to you
رُوحًا
an inspiration
مِّنْ
by
أَمْرِنَاۚ
Our Command
مَا
Not
كُنتَ
did you
تَدْرِى
know
مَا
what
ٱلْكِتَٰبُ
the Book (is)
وَلَا
and not
ٱلْإِيمَٰنُ
the faith
وَلَٰكِن
But
جَعَلْنَٰهُ
We have made it
نُورًا
a light
نَّهْدِى
We guide
بِهِۦ
with it
مَن
whom
نَّشَآءُ
We will
مِنْ
of
عِبَادِنَاۚ
Our slaves
وَإِنَّكَ
And indeed you
لَتَهْدِىٓ
surely guide
إِلَىٰ
to
صِرَٰطٍ
(the) path
مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
straight

Wakathalika awhayna ilayka roohan min amrina ma kunta tadree ma alkitabu wala aleemanu walakin ja'alnahu nooran nahdee bihi man nashao min 'ibadina wainnaka latahdee ila siratin mustaqeemin

Sahih International:

And thus We have revealed to you an inspiration of Our command. You did not know what is the Book or [what is] faith, but We have made it a light by which We guide whom We will of Our servants. And indeed, [O Muhammad], you guide to a straight path -
