Surah [18] Al-Kahf : 32

وَاضۡرِبۡ لَهُمۡ مَّثَلًا رَّجُلَيۡنِ جَعَلۡنَا لِاَحَدِهِمَا جَنَّتَيۡنِ مِنۡ اَعۡنَابٍ وَّحَفَفۡنٰهُمَا بِنَخۡلٍ وَّجَعَلۡنَا بَيۡنَهُمَا زَرۡعًا(الكهف :32)

وَٱضْرِبْ
And set forth
لَهُم
to them
مَّثَلًا
the example
رَّجُلَيْنِ
of two men;
جَعَلْنَا
We provided
لِأَحَدِهِمَا
for one of them
جَنَّتَيْنِ
two gardens
مِنْ
of
أَعْنَٰبٍ
grapes
وَحَفَفْنَٰهُمَا
and We bordered them
بِنَخْلٍ
with date-palms
وَجَعَلْنَا
and We placed
بَيْنَهُمَا
between both of them
زَرْعًا
crops

Waidrib lahum mathalan rajulayni ja'alna liahadihima jannatayni min a'nabin wahafafnahuma binakhlin waja'alna baynahuma zar'an

Sahih International:

And present to them an example of two men; We granted to one of them two gardens of grapevines, and We bordered them with palm trees and placed between them [fields of] crops.

Surah [18] Al-Kahf : 33

كِلۡتَا الۡجَـنَّتَيۡنِ اٰتَتۡ اُكُلَهَا وَلَمۡ تَظۡلِمۡ مِّنۡهُ شَيۡــًٔـا‌ ۙ وَّفَجَّرۡنَا خِلٰـلَهُمَا نَهَرًا ۙ‏(الكهف :33)

كِلْتَا
Each
ٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ
(of) the two gardens
ءَاتَتْ
brought forth
أُكُلَهَا
its produce
وَلَمْ
and not
تَظْلِم
did wrong
مِّنْهُ
of it
شَيْـًٔاۚ
anything
وَفَجَّرْنَا
And We caused to gush forth
خِلَٰلَهُمَا
within them
نَهَرًا
a river

Kilta aljannatayni atat okulaha walam tathlim minhu shayan wafajjarna khilalahuma naharan

Sahih International:

Each of the two gardens produced its fruit and did not fall short thereof in anything. And We caused to gush forth within them a river.

Surah [18] Al-Kahf : 34

وَكَانَ لَهٗ ثَمَرٌ‌ ۚ فَقَالَ لِصَاحِبِهٖ وَهُوَ يُحَاوِرُهٗۤ اَنَا اَكۡثَرُ مِنۡكَ مَالًا وَّاَعَزُّ نَفَرًا(الكهف :34)

وَكَانَ
And was
لَهُۥ
for him
ثَمَرٌ
fruit
فَقَالَ
so he said
لِصَٰحِبِهِۦ
to his companion
وَهُوَ
while he
يُحَاوِرُهُۥٓ
(was) talking with him
أَنَا۠
"I am
أَكْثَرُ
greater
مِنكَ
than you
مَالًا
(in) wealth
وَأَعَزُّ
and stronger
نَفَرًا
(in) men"

Wakana lahu thamarun faqala lisahibihi wahuwa yuhawiruhu ana aktharu minka malan waa'azzu nafaran

Sahih International:

And he had fruit, so he said to his companion while he was conversing with him, "I am greater than you in wealth and mightier in [numbers of] men."

Surah [18] Al-Kahf : 35

وَدَخَلَ جَنَّتَهٗ وَهُوَ ظَالِمٌ لِّنَفۡسِهٖ‌ ۚ قَالَ مَاۤ اَظُنُّ اَنۡ تَبِيۡدَ هٰذِهٖۤ اَبَدًا(الكهف :35)

وَدَخَلَ
And he entered
جَنَّتَهُۥ
his garden
وَهُوَ
while he
ظَالِمٌ
(was) unjust
لِّنَفْسِهِۦ
to himself
قَالَ
He said
مَآ
"Not
أَظُنُّ
I think
أَن
that
تَبِيدَ
will perish
هَٰذِهِۦٓ
this
أَبَدًا
ever

Wadakhala jannatahu wahuwa thalimun linafsihi qala ma athunnu an tabeeda hathihi abadan

Sahih International:

And he entered his garden while he was unjust to himself. He said, "I do not think that this will perish - ever.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [18] Al-Kahf : 36

وَّمَاۤ اَظُنُّ السَّاعَةَ قَآٮِٕمَةً  ۙ وَّلَٮِٕنۡ رُّدِدْتُّ اِلٰى رَبِّىۡ لَاَجِدَنَّ خَيۡرًا مِّنۡهَا مُنۡقَلَبًا(الكهف :36)

وَمَآ
And not
أَظُنُّ
I think
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
the Hour
قَآئِمَةً
will occur
وَلَئِن
And if
رُّدِدتُّ
I am brought back
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّى
my Lord
لَأَجِدَنَّ
I will surely find
خَيْرًا
better
مِّنْهَا
than this
مُنقَلَبًا
(as) a return"

Wama athunnu alssa'ata qaimatan walain rudidtu ila rabbee laajidanna khayran minha munqalaban

Sahih International:

And I do not think the Hour will occur. And even if I should be brought back to my Lord, I will surely find better than this as a return."

Surah [18] Al-Kahf : 37

قَالَ لَهٗ صَاحِبُهٗ وَهُوَ يُحَاوِرُهٗۤ اَكَفَرۡتَ بِالَّذِىۡ خَلَقَكَ مِنۡ تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِنۡ نُّـطۡفَةٍ ثُمَّ سَوّٰٮكَ رَجُلًاؕ(الكهف :37)

قَالَ
Said
لَهُۥ
to him
صَاحِبُهُۥ
his companion
وَهُوَ
while he
يُحَاوِرُهُۥٓ
was talking to him
أَكَفَرْتَ
"Do you disbelieve
بِٱلَّذِى
in One Who
خَلَقَكَ
created you
مِن
from
تُرَابٍ
dust
ثُمَّ
then
مِن
from
نُّطْفَةٍ
a minute quantity of semen
ثُمَّ
then
سَوَّىٰكَ
fashioned you
رَجُلًا
(into) a man?

Qala lahu sahibuhu wahuwa yuhawiruhu akafarta biallathee khalaqaka min turabin thumma min nutfatin thumma sawwaka rajulan

Sahih International:

His companion said to him while he was conversing with him, "Have you disbelieved in He who created you from dust and then from a sperm-drop and then proportioned you [as] a man?

Surah [18] Al-Kahf : 38

لّٰـكِنَّا۟ هُوَ اللّٰهُ رَبِّىۡ وَلَاۤ اُشۡرِكُ بِرَبِّىۡۤ اَحَدًا‏(الكهف :38)

لَّٰكِنَّا۠
But as for me
هُوَ
He
ٱللَّهُ
(is) Allah
رَبِّى
my Lord
وَلَآ
and not
أُشْرِكُ
I associate
بِرَبِّىٓ
with my Lord
أَحَدًا
anyone

Lakinna huwa Allahu rabbee wala oshriku birabbee ahadan

Sahih International:

But as for me, He is Allah, my Lord, and I do not associate with my Lord anyone.

Surah [18] Al-Kahf : 39

وَلَوۡلَاۤ اِذۡ دَخَلۡتَ جَنَّتَكَ قُلۡتَ مَا شَآءَ اللّٰهُ ۙ لَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللّٰهِ‌ ۚ اِنۡ تَرَنِ اَنَا اَقَلَّ مِنۡكَ مَالًا وَّوَلَدًا‌(الكهف :39)

وَلَوْلَآ
And why (did you) not
إِذْ
when
دَخَلْتَ
you entered
جَنَّتَكَ
your garden
قُلْتَ
say
مَا
"What
شَآءَ
wills
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
لَا
(there is) no
قُوَّةَ
power
إِلَّا
except
بِٱللَّهِۚ
with Allah"
إِن
If
تَرَنِ
you see
أَنَا۠
me
أَقَلَّ
lesser
مِنكَ
than you
مَالًا
(in) wealth
وَوَلَدًا
and children

Walawla ith dakhalta jannataka qulta ma shaa Allahu la quwwata illa biAllahi in tarani ana aqalla minka malan wawaladan

Sahih International:

And why did you, when you entered your garden, not say, 'What Allah willed [has occurred]; there is no power except in Allah '? Although you see me less than you in wealth and children,

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [18] Al-Kahf : 40

فَعَسٰى رَبِّىۡۤ اَنۡ يُّؤۡتِيَنِ خَيۡرًا مِّنۡ جَنَّتِكَ وَيُرۡسِلَ عَلَيۡهَا حُسۡبَانًا مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ فَتُصۡبِحَ صَعِيۡدًا زَلَـقًا ۙ(الكهف :40)

فَعَسَىٰ
It may be
رَبِّىٓ
that my Lord
أَن
that my Lord
يُؤْتِيَنِ
will give me
خَيْرًا
better
مِّن
than
جَنَّتِكَ
your garden
وَيُرْسِلَ
and will send
عَلَيْهَا
upon it
حُسْبَانًا
a calamity
مِّنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
فَتُصْبِحَ
then it will become
صَعِيدًا
ground
زَلَقًا
slippery

Fa'asa rabbee an yutiyani khayran min jannatika wayursila 'alayha husbanan mina alssamai fatusbiha sa'eedan zalaqan

Sahih International:

It may be that my Lord will give me [something] better than your garden and will send upon it a calamity from the sky, and it will become a smooth, dusty ground,

Surah [18] Al-Kahf : 41

اَوۡ يُصۡبِحَ مَآؤُهَا غَوۡرًا فَلَنۡ تَسۡتَطِيۡعَ لَهٗ طَلَبًا‏(الكهف :41)

أَوْ
Or
يُصْبِحَ
will become
مَآؤُهَا
its water
غَوْرًا
sunken
فَلَن
so never
تَسْتَطِيعَ
you will be able
لَهُۥ
to find it"
طَلَبًا
to find it"

Aw yusbiha maoha ghawran falan tastatee'a lahu talaban

Sahih International:

Or its water will become sunken [into the earth], so you would never be able to seek it."
