Surah [5] Al-Ma'ida : 22

قَالُوۡا يٰمُوۡسٰٓى اِنَّ فِيۡهَا قَوۡمًا جَبَّارِيۡنَ ‌ۖ وَاِنَّا لَنۡ نَّدۡخُلَهَا حَتّٰى يَخۡرُجُوۡا مِنۡهَا‌ ۚ فَاِنۡ يَّخۡرُجُوۡا مِنۡهَا فَاِنَّا دٰخِلُوْنَ(المائدة :22)

قَالُوا۟
They said
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ
"O Musa!
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِيهَا
in it
قَوْمًا
(are) people
جَبَّارِينَ
(of) tyrannical strength
وَإِنَّا
and indeed we
لَن
never
نَّدْخُلَهَا
will enter it
حَتَّىٰ
until
يَخْرُجُوا۟
they leave
مِنْهَا
from it
فَإِن
and if
يَخْرُجُوا۟
they leave
مِنْهَا
[from] it
فَإِنَّا
then certainly we (will)
دَٰخِلُونَ
enter (it)"

Qaloo ya moosa inna feeha qawman jabbareena wainna lan nadkhulaha hatta yakhrujoo minha fain yakhrujoo minha fainna dakhiloona

Sahih International:

They said, "O Moses, indeed within it is a people of tyrannical strength, and indeed, we will never enter it until they leave it; but if they leave it, then we will enter."

Surah [10] Yunus : 90

وَجَاوَزۡنَا بِبَنِىۡۤ اِسۡرَآءِيۡلَ الۡبَحۡرَ فَاَتۡبـَعَهُمۡ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَجُنُوۡدُهٗ بَغۡيًا وَّعَدۡوًا‌ ؕ حَتّٰۤى اِذَاۤ اَدۡرَكَهُ الۡغَرَقُ قَالَ اٰمَنۡتُ اَنَّهٗ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا الَّذِىۡۤ اٰمَنَتۡ بِهٖ بَنُوۡۤا اِسۡرَآءِيۡلَ وَ اَنَا مِنَ الۡمُسۡلِمِيۡنَ(يونس :90)

وَجَٰوَزْنَا
And We took across
بِبَنِىٓ
(the) Children
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
(of) Israel
ٱلْبَحْرَ
the sea
فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ
and followed them
فِرْعَوْنُ
Firaun
وَجُنُودُهُۥ
and his hosts
بَغْيًا
(in) rebellion
وَعَدْوًاۖ
and enmity
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
إِذَآ
when
أَدْرَكَهُ
overtook him
ٱلْغَرَقُ
the drowning
قَالَ
he said
ءَامَنتُ
"I believe
أَنَّهُۥ
that
لَآ
(there is) no
إِلَٰهَ
god
إِلَّا
except
ٱلَّذِىٓ
the One
ءَامَنَتْ
in Whom believe
بِهِۦ
in Whom believe
بَنُوٓا۟
the Children of Israel
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
the Children of Israel
وَأَنَا۠
and I am
مِنَ
of
ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
the Muslims"

Wajawazna bibanee israeela albahra faatba'ahum fir'awnu wajunooduhu baghyan wa'adwan hatta itha adrakahu algharaqu qala amantu annahu la ilaha illa allathee amanat bihi banoo israeela waana mina almuslimeena

Sahih International:

And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, "I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims."

Surah [11] Hud : 59

وَتِلۡكَ عَادٌ‌ۖ جَحَدُوۡا بِاٰيٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ وَعَصَوۡا رُسُلَهٗ وَاتَّبَعُوۡۤا اَمۡرَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيۡدٍ(هود :59)

وَتِلْكَ
And this
عَادٌۖ
(was) Aad
جَحَدُوا۟
they rejected
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
(the) Signs
رَبِّهِمْ
(of) their Lord
وَعَصَوْا۟
and disobeyed
رُسُلَهُۥ
His Messengers
وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟
and followed
أَمْرَ
(the) command
كُلِّ
(of) every
جَبَّارٍ
tyrant
عَنِيدٍ
obstinate

Watilka 'adun jahadoo biayati rabbihim wa'asaw rusulahu waittaba'oo amra kulli jabbarin 'aneedin

Sahih International:

And that was 'Aad, who rejected the signs of their Lord and disobeyed His messengers and followed the order of every obstinate tyrant.

Surah [14] Ibrahim : 15

وَاسۡتَفۡتَحُوۡا وَخَابَ كُلُّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيۡدٍۙ(ابراهيم :15)

وَٱسْتَفْتَحُوا۟
And they sought victory
وَخَابَ
and disappointed
كُلُّ
every
جَبَّارٍ
tyrant
عَنِيدٍ
obstinate

Waistaftahoo wakhaba kullu jabbarin 'aneedin

Sahih International:

And they requested victory from Allah, and disappointed, [therefore], was every obstinate tyrant.

Surah [16] An-Nahl : 90

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَاۡمُرُ بِالۡعَدۡلِ وَالۡاِحۡسَانِ وَاِيۡتَآىِٕ ذِى الۡقُرۡبٰى وَيَنۡهٰى عَنِ الۡفَحۡشَآءِ وَالۡمُنۡكَرِ وَالۡبَغۡىِ‌ۚ يَعِظُكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُوۡنَ(النحل :90)

إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يَأْمُرُ
commands
بِٱلْعَدْلِ
justice
وَٱلْإِحْسَٰنِ
and the good
وَإِيتَآئِ
and giving
ذِى
(to) relatives
ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ
(to) relatives
وَيَنْهَىٰ
and forbids
عَنِ
[from]
ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ
the immorality
وَٱلْمُنكَرِ
and the bad
وَٱلْبَغْىِۚ
and the oppression
يَعِظُكُمْ
He admonishes you
لَعَلَّكُمْ
so that you may
تَذَكَّرُونَ
take heed

Inna Allaha yamuru bial'adli waalihsani waeetai thee alqurba wayanha 'ani alfahshai waalmunkari waalbaghyi ya'ithukum la'allakum tathakkaroona

Sahih International:

Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded.

Surah [26] Ash-Shu'ara : 128

اَتَبۡنُوۡنَ بِكُلِّ رِيۡعٍ اٰيَةً تَعۡبَثُوۡنَۙ(الشعراء :128)

أَتَبْنُونَ
Do you construct
بِكُلِّ
on every
رِيعٍ
elevation
ءَايَةً
a sign
تَعْبَثُونَ
amusing yourselves

Atabnoona bikulli ree'in ayatan ta'bathoona

Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves,

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [26] Ash-Shu'ara : 129

وَ تَتَّخِذُوۡنَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَخۡلُدُوۡنَ‌ۚ(الشعراء :129)

وَتَتَّخِذُونَ
And take for yourselves
مَصَانِعَ
strongholds
لَعَلَّكُمْ
that you may
تَخْلُدُونَ
live forever?

Watattakhithoona masani'a la'allakum takhludoona

And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally?

Surah [26] Ash-Shu'ara : 130

وَاِذَا بَطَشۡتُمۡ بَطَشۡتُمۡ جَبَّارِيۡنَ‌ۚ‏(الشعراء :130)

وَإِذَا
And when
بَطَشْتُم
you seize
بَطَشْتُمْ
you seize
جَبَّارِينَ
(as) tyrants

Waitha batashtum batashtum jabbareena

Sahih International:

And when you strike, you strike as tyrants.

Surah [28] Al-Qasas : 19

فَلَمَّاۤ اَنۡ اَرَادَ اَنۡ يَّبۡطِشَ بِالَّذِىۡ هُوَ عَدُوٌّ لَّهُمَا ۙ قَالَ يٰمُوۡسٰٓى اَ تُرِيۡدُ اَنۡ تَقۡتُلَنِىۡ كَمَا قَتَلۡتَ نَفۡسًۢا بِالۡاَمۡسِ ‌ۖ اِنۡ تُرِيۡدُ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ تَكُوۡنَ جَبَّارًا فِى الۡاَرۡضِ وَمَا تُرِيۡدُ اَنۡ تَكُوۡنَ مِنَ الۡمُصۡلِحِيۡنَ‏(القصص :19)

فَلَمَّآ
Then when
أَنْ
[that]
أَرَادَ
he wanted
أَن
to
يَبْطِشَ
strike
بِٱلَّذِى
the one who
هُوَ
[he] (was)
عَدُوٌّ
an enemy
لَّهُمَا
to both of them
قَالَ
he said
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ
"O Musa!
أَتُرِيدُ
Do you intend
أَن
to
تَقْتُلَنِى
kill me
كَمَا
as
قَتَلْتَ
you killed
نَفْسًۢا
a person
بِٱلْأَمْسِۖ
yesterday?
إِن
Not
تُرِيدُ
you want
إِلَّآ
but
أَن
that
تَكُونَ
you become
جَبَّارًا
a tyrant
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the earth
وَمَا
and not
تُرِيدُ
you want
أَن
that
تَكُونَ
you be
مِنَ
of
ٱلْمُصْلِحِينَ
the reformers"

Falamma an arada an yabtisha biallathee huwa 'aduwwun lahuma qala ya moosa atureedu an taqtulanee kama qatalta nafsan bialamsi in tureedu illa an takoona jabbaran fee alardi wama tureedu an takoona mina almusliheena

Sahih International:

And when he wanted to strike the one who was an enemy to both of them, he said, "O Moses, do you intend to kill me as you killed someone yesterday? You only want to be a tyrant in the land and do not want to be of the amenders."

Surah [42] Ash-Shura : 14

وَمَا تَفَرَّقُوۡۤا اِلَّا مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ الۡعِلۡمُ بَغۡيًاۢ بَيۡنَهُمۡ‌ؕ وَلَوۡلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتۡ مِنۡ رَّبِّكَ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى لَّقُضِىَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ‌ؕ وَ اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ اُوۡرِثُوا الۡكِتٰبَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ لَفِىۡ شَكٍّ مِّنۡهُ مُرِيۡبٍ(الشورى :14)

وَمَا
And not
تَفَرَّقُوٓا۟
they became divided
إِلَّا
until
مِنۢ
after
بَعْدِ
after
مَا
[what]
جَآءَهُمُ
came to them
ٱلْعِلْمُ
the knowledge
بَغْيًۢا
(out of) rivalry
بَيْنَهُمْۚ
among them
وَلَوْلَا
And if not
كَلِمَةٌ
(for) a word
سَبَقَتْ
(that) preceded
مِن
from
رَّبِّكَ
your Lord
إِلَىٰٓ
for
أَجَلٍ
a term
مُّسَمًّى
specified
لَّقُضِىَ
surely, it (would have) been settled
بَيْنَهُمْۚ
between them
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
أُورِثُوا۟
were made to inherit
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
مِنۢ
after them
بَعْدِهِمْ
after them
لَفِى
(are) surely in
شَكٍّ
doubt
مِّنْهُ
concerning it
مُرِيبٍ
disquieting

Wama tafarraqoo illa min ba'di ma jaahumu al'ilmu baghyan baynahum walawla kalimatun sabaqat min rabbika ila ajalin musamman laqudiya baynahum wainna allatheena oorithoo alkitaba min ba'dihim lafee shakkin minhu mureebin

Sahih International:

And they did not become divided until after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord [postponing the penalty] until a specified time, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed, those who were granted inheritance of the Scripture after them are, concerning it, in disquieting doubt.
