اِنَّاۤ اَوۡحَيۡنَاۤ اِلَيۡكَ كَمَاۤ اَوۡحَيۡنَاۤ اِلٰى نُوۡحٍ وَّالنَّبِيّٖنَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِهٖ ۚ وَاَوۡحَيۡنَاۤ اِلٰٓى اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ وَاِسۡمٰعِيۡلَ وَاِسۡحٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوۡبَ وَالۡاَسۡبَاطِ وَعِيۡسٰى وَاَيُّوۡبَ وَيُوۡنُسَ وَهٰرُوۡنَ وَسُلَيۡمٰنَ ۚ وَاٰتَيۡنَا دَاوٗدَ زَبُوۡرًا(النساء :163)
Inna awhayna ilayka kama awhayna ila noohin waalnnabiyyeena min ba'dihi waawhayna ila ibraheema waisma'eela waishaqa waya'qooba waalasbati wa'eesa waayyooba wayoonusa waharoona wasulaymana waatayna dawooda zabooran
Sahih International:
Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him. And we revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Descendants, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the book [of Psalms].
وَاِسۡمٰعِيۡلَ وَالۡيَسَعَ وَيُوۡنُسَ وَلُوۡطًا ؕ وَكُلًّا فَضَّلۡنَا عَلَى الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَۙ(الأنعام :86)
Waisma'eela wailyasa'a wayoonusa walootan wakullan faddalna 'ala al'alameena
Sahih International:
And Ishmael and Elisha and Jonah and Lot - and all [of them] We preferred over the worlds.
فَلَوۡلَا كَانَتۡ قَرۡيَةٌ اٰمَنَتۡ فَنَفَعَهَاۤ اِيۡمَانُهَاۤ اِلَّا قَوۡمَ يُوۡنُسَ ۚؕ لَمَّاۤ اٰمَنُوۡا كَشَفۡنَا عَنۡهُمۡ عَذَابَ الۡخِزۡىِ فِى الۡحَيٰوةِ الدُّنۡيَا وَمَتَّعۡنٰهُمۡ اِلٰى حِيۡنٍ(يونس :98)
Falawla kanat qaryatun amanat fanafa'aha eemanuha illa qawma yoonusa lamma amanoo kashafna 'anhum 'athaba alkhizyi fee alhayati alddunya wamatta'nahum ila heenin
Sahih International:
Then has there not been a [single] city that believed so its faith benefited it except the people of Jonah? When they believed, We removed from them the punishment of disgrace in worldly life and gave them enjoyment for a time.
وَ ذَا النُّوۡنِ اِذْ ذَّهَبَ مُغَاضِبًا فَظَنَّ اَنۡ لَّنۡ نَّـقۡدِرَ عَلَيۡهِ فَنَادٰى فِى الظُّلُمٰتِ اَنۡ لَّاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡتَ سُبۡحٰنَكَ ۖ اِنِّىۡ كُنۡتُ مِنَ الظّٰلِمِيۡنَ(الأنبياء :87)
Watha alnnooni ith thahaba mughadiban fathanna an lan naqdira 'alayhi fanada fee alththulumati an la ilaha illa anta subhanaka innee kuntu mina alththalimeena
Sahih International:
And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers."
وَاِنَّ يُوۡنُسَ لَمِنَ الۡمُرۡسَلِيۡنَؕ(الصافات :139)
Wainna yoonusa lamina almursaleena
Sahih International:
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers.
اِذۡ اَبَقَ اِلَى الۡفُلۡكِ الۡمَشۡحُوۡنِۙ(الصافات :140)
Ith abaqa ila alfulki almashhooni
Sahih International:
[Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship.
فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ الۡمُدۡحَضِيۡنَۚ(الصافات :141)
Fasahama fakana mina almudhadeena
Sahih International:
And he drew lots and was among the losers.
فَالۡتَقَمَهُ الۡحُوۡتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيۡمٌ(الصافات :142)
Failtaqamahu alhootu wahuwa muleemun
Sahih International:
Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy.
فَلَوۡلَاۤ اَنَّهٗ كَانَ مِنَ الۡمُسَبِّحِيۡنَۙ(الصافات :143)
Falawla annahu kana mina almusabbiheena
Sahih International:
And had he not been of those who exalt Allah,
لَلَبِثَ فِىۡ بَطۡنِهٖۤ اِلٰى يَوۡمِ يُبۡعَثُوۡنَۚ(الصافات :144)
Lalabitha fee batnihi ila yawmi yub'athoona
Sahih International:
He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected.
