Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 119

اِنَّاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنٰكَ بِالۡحَـقِّ بَشِيۡرًا وَّنَذِيۡرًا ۙ‌ وَّلَا تُسۡـَٔـلُ عَنۡ اَصۡحٰبِ الۡجَحِيۡمِ(البقرة :119)

إِنَّآ
Indeed We!
أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ
[We] have sent you
بِٱلْحَقِّ
with the truth
بَشِيرًا
(as) a bearer of good news
وَنَذِيرًاۖ
and (as) a warner
وَلَا
And not
تُسْـَٔلُ
you will be asked
عَنْ
about
أَصْحَٰبِ
(the) companions
ٱلْجَحِيمِ
(of) the blazing Fire

Inna arsalnaka bialhaqqi basheeran wanatheeran wala tusalu Aaan ashabi aljaheemi

Sahih International:

Indeed, We have sent you, [O Muhammad], with the truth as a bringer of good tidings and a warner, and you will not be asked about the companions of Hellfire.

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 126

وَاِذۡ قَالَ اِبۡرٰهٖمُ رَبِّ اجۡعَلۡ هٰذَا بَلَدًا اٰمِنًا وَّارۡزُقۡ اَهۡلَهٗ مِنَ الثَّمَرٰتِ مَنۡ اٰمَنَ مِنۡهُمۡ بِاللّٰهِ وَالۡيَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِ‌ؕ قَالَ وَمَنۡ كَفَرَ فَاُمَتِّعُهٗ قَلِيۡلًا ثُمَّ اَضۡطَرُّهٗۤ اِلٰى عَذَابِ النَّارِ‌ؕ وَبِئۡسَ الۡمَصِيۡرُ‏(البقرة :126)

وَإِذْ
And when
قَالَ
said
إِبْرَٰهِۦمُ
Ibrahim
رَبِّ
"My Lord
ٱجْعَلْ
make
هَٰذَا
this
بَلَدًا
a city
ءَامِنًا
secure
وَٱرْزُقْ
and provide
أَهْلَهُۥ
its people
مِنَ
with
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
fruits
مَنْ
(to) whoever
ءَامَنَ
believed
مِنْهُم
from them
بِٱللَّهِ
in Allah
وَٱلْيَوْمِ
and the Day
ٱلْءَاخِرِۖ
the Last"
قَالَ
He said
وَمَن
"And whoever
كَفَرَ
disbelieved
فَأُمَتِّعُهُۥ
[then] I will grant him enjoyment
قَلِيلًا
a little;
ثُمَّ
then
أَضْطَرُّهُۥٓ
I will force him
إِلَىٰ
to
عَذَابِ
(the) punishment
ٱلنَّارِۖ
(of) the Fire
وَبِئْسَ
and evil
ٱلْمَصِيرُ
(is) the destination

Waith qala ibraheemu rabbi ij'al hatha baladan aminan waorzuq ahlahu mina alththamarati man amana minhum biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri qala waman kafara faomatti'uhu qaleelan thumma adtarruhu ila 'athabi alnnari wabisa almaseeru

Sahih International:

And [mention] when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this a secure city and provide its people with fruits - whoever of them believes in Allah and the Last Day." [ Allah ] said. "And whoever disbelieves - I will grant him enjoyment for a little; then I will force him to the punishment of the Fire, and wretched is the destination."

Surah [4] An-Nisa' : 75

وَمَا لَـكُمۡ لَا تُقَاتِلُوۡنَ فِىۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ وَالۡمُسۡتَضۡعَفِيۡنَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَآءِ وَالۡوِلۡدَانِ الَّذِيۡنَ يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ رَبَّنَاۤ اَخۡرِجۡنَا مِنۡ هٰذِهِ الۡـقَرۡيَةِ الظَّالِمِ اَهۡلُهَا‌ ۚ وَاجۡعَلْ لَّـنَا مِنۡ لَّدُنۡكَ وَلِيًّا ۙۚ وَّاجۡعَلْ لَّـنَا مِنۡ لَّدُنۡكَ نَصِيۡرًا(النساء :75)

وَمَا
And what
لَكُمْ
for you
لَا
(that) not
تُقَٰتِلُونَ
you fight
فِى
in
سَبِيلِ
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
وَٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ
and (for) those who are weak
مِنَ
among
ٱلرِّجَالِ
the men
وَٱلنِّسَآءِ
and the women
وَٱلْوِلْدَٰنِ
and the children
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
يَقُولُونَ
say
رَبَّنَآ
"Our Lord
أَخْرِجْنَا
take us out
مِنْ
of
هَٰذِهِ
this
ٱلْقَرْيَةِ
[the] town
ٱلظَّالِمِ
[the] oppressor(s)
أَهْلُهَا
(are) its people
وَٱجْعَل
and appoint
لَّنَا
for us
مِن
from
لَّدُنكَ
Yourself
وَلِيًّا
a protector
وَٱجْعَل
and appoint
لَّنَا
for us
مِن
from
لَّدُنكَ
Yourself
نَصِيرًا
a helper

Wama lakum la tuqatiloona fee sabeeli Allahi waalmustad'afeena mina alrrijali waalnnisai waalwildani allatheena yaqooloona rabbana akhrijna min hathihi alqaryati alththalimi ahluha waij'al lana min ladunka waliyyan waij'al lana min ladunka naseeran

Sahih International:

And what is [the matter] with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, "Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper?"

Surah [9] At-Tawba : 70

اَلَمۡ يَاۡتِهِمۡ نَبَاُ الَّذِيۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡ قَوۡمِ نُوۡحٍ وَّعَادٍ وَّثَمُوۡدَ  ۙ وَقَوۡمِ اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ وَاَصۡحٰبِ مَدۡيَنَ وَالۡمُؤۡتَفِكٰتِ‌ ؕ اَتَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُمۡ بِالۡبَيِّنٰتِ‌‌ ۚ فَمَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيَظۡلِمَهُمۡ وَلٰـكِنۡ كَانُوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَهُمۡ يَظۡلِمُوۡنَ(التوبة :70)

أَلَمْ
Has not
يَأْتِهِمْ
come to them
نَبَأُ
(the) news
ٱلَّذِينَ
(of) those who
مِن
(were) before them
قَبْلِهِمْ
(were) before them
قَوْمِ
(the) people
نُوحٍ
(of) Nuh
وَعَادٍ
and Aad
وَثَمُودَ
and Thamud
وَقَوْمِ
and (the) people
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
(of) Ibrahim
وَأَصْحَٰبِ
and (the) companions
مَدْيَنَ
(of) Madyan
وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَٰتِۚ
and the towns overturned?
أَتَتْهُمْ
Came to them
رُسُلُهُم
their Messengers
بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِۖ
with clear proofs
فَمَا
And not
كَانَ
was
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ
to wrong them
وَلَٰكِن
but
كَانُوٓا۟
they were to
أَنفُسَهُمْ
themselves
يَظْلِمُونَ
doing wrong

Alam yatihim nabao allatheena min qablihim qawmi noohin wa'adin wathamooda waqawmi ibraheema waashabi madyana waalmutafikati atathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati fama kana Allahu liyathlimahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona

Sahih International:

Has there not reached them the news of those before them - the people of Noah and [the tribes of] 'Aad and Thamud and the people of Abraham and the companions of Madyan and the towns overturned? Their messengers came to them with clear proofs. And Allah would never have wronged them, but they were wronging themselves.

Surah [11] Hud : 117

وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ لِيُهۡلِكَ الۡقُرٰى بِظُلۡمٍ وَّاَهۡلُهَا مُصۡلِحُوۡنَ‏(هود :117)

وَمَا
And not
كَانَ
would
رَبُّكَ
your Lord
لِيُهْلِكَ
destroy
ٱلْقُرَىٰ
the cities
بِظُلْمٍ
unjustly
وَأَهْلُهَا
while its people
مُصْلِحُونَ
(were) reformers

Wama kana rabbuka liyuhlika alqura bithulmin waahluha muslihoona

Sahih International:

And your Lord would not have destroyed the cities unjustly while their people were reformers.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [11] Hud : 61

‌وَاِلٰى ثَمُوۡدَ اَخَاهُمۡ صٰلِحًا‌ۘ قَالَ يٰقَوۡمِ اعۡبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مَا لَـكُمۡ مِّنۡ اِلٰهٍ غَيۡرُهٗ‌ ؕ هُوَ اَنۡشَاَكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡاَرۡضِ وَاسۡتَعۡمَرَكُمۡ فِيۡهَا فَاسۡتَغۡفِرُوۡهُ ثُمَّ تُوۡبُوۡۤا اِلَيۡهِ‌ ؕ اِنَّ رَبِّىۡ قَرِيۡبٌ مُّجِيۡبٌ(هود :61)

وَإِلَىٰ
And to
ثَمُودَ
Thamud
أَخَاهُمْ
(We sent) their brother
صَٰلِحًاۚ
Salih
قَالَ
He said
يَٰقَوْمِ
"O my people!
ٱعْبُدُوا۟
Worship
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
مَا
not
لَكُم
you have
مِّنْ
any
إِلَٰهٍ
god
غَيْرُهُۥۖ
other than Him
هُوَ
He
أَنشَأَكُم
produced you
مِّنَ
from
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the earth
وَٱسْتَعْمَرَكُمْ
and settled you
فِيهَا
in it
فَٱسْتَغْفِرُوهُ
So ask forgiveness of Him
ثُمَّ
then
تُوبُوٓا۟
turn in repentance
إِلَيْهِۚ
to Him
إِنَّ
Indeed
رَبِّى
my Lord
قَرِيبٌ
(is) near
مُّجِيبٌ
All-Responsive"

Waila thamooda akhahum salihan qala ya qawmi o'budoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu huwa anshaakum mina alardi waista'marakum feeha faistaghfiroohu thumma tooboo ilayhi inna rabbee qareebun mujeebun

Sahih International:

And to Thamud [We sent] their brother Salih. He said, "O my people, worship Allah ; you have no deity other than Him. He has produced you from the earth and settled you in it, so ask forgiveness of Him and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is near and responsive."

Surah [18] Al-Kahf : 77

فَانْطَلَقَا حَتّٰۤى اِذَاۤ اَتَيَاۤ اَهۡلَ قَرۡيَةِ  ۨاسۡتَطۡعَمَاۤ اَهۡلَهَا فَاَبَوۡا اَنۡ يُّضَيِّفُوۡهُمَا فَوَجَدَا فِيۡهَا جِدَارًا يُّرِيۡدُ اَنۡ يَّـنۡقَضَّ فَاَقَامَهٗ‌ ؕ قَالَ لَوۡ شِئۡتَ لَـتَّخَذۡتَ عَلَيۡهِ اَجۡرًا‏(الكهف :77)

فَٱنطَلَقَا
So they set out
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
إِذَآ
when
أَتَيَآ
they came
أَهْلَ
(to the) people
قَرْيَةٍ
(of) a town
ٱسْتَطْعَمَآ
they asked for food
أَهْلَهَا
(from) its people
فَأَبَوْا۟
but they refused
أَن
to
يُضَيِّفُوهُمَا
offer them hospitality
فَوَجَدَا
Then they found
فِيهَا
in it
جِدَارًا
a wall
يُرِيدُ
(that) want(ed)
أَن
to
يَنقَضَّ
collapse
فَأَقَامَهُۥۖ
so he set it straight
قَالَ
He said
لَوْ
"If
شِئْتَ
you wished
لَتَّخَذْتَ
surely you (could) have taken
عَلَيْهِ
for it
أَجْرًا
a payment"

Faintalaqa hatta itha ataya ahla qaryatin istat'ama ahlaha faabaw an yudayyifoohuma fawajada feeha jidaran yureedu an yanqadda faaqamahu qala law shita laittakhathta 'alayhi ajran

Sahih International:

So they set out, until when they came to the people of a town, they asked its people for food, but they refused to offer them hospitality. And they found therein a wall about to collapse, so al-Khidh r restored it. [Moses] said, "If you wished, you could have taken for it a payment."

Surah [24] An-Nur : 27

يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا لَا تَدۡخُلُوۡا بُيُوۡتًا غَيۡرَ بُيُوۡتِكُمۡ حَتّٰى تَسۡتَاۡنِسُوۡا وَتُسَلِّمُوۡا عَلٰٓى اَهۡلِهَا ‌ؕ ذٰ لِكُمۡ خَيۡرٌ لَّـكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُوۡنَ(النور :27)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
who
ءَامَنُوا۟
believe!
لَا
(Do) not
تَدْخُلُوا۟
enter
بُيُوتًا
houses
غَيْرَ
other (than)
بُيُوتِكُمْ
your houses
حَتَّىٰ
until
تَسْتَأْنِسُوا۟
you have asked permission
وَتُسَلِّمُوا۟
and you have greeted
عَلَىٰٓ
[on]
أَهْلِهَاۚ
its inhabitants
ذَٰلِكُمْ
That
خَيْرٌ
(is) best
لَّكُمْ
for you
لَعَلَّكُمْ
so that you may
تَذَكَّرُونَ
pay heed

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tadkhuloo buyootan ghayra buyootikum hatta tastanisoo watusallimoo 'ala ahliha thalikum khayrun lakum la'allakum tathakkaroona

Sahih International:

O you who have believed, do not enter houses other than your own houses until you ascertain welcome and greet their inhabitants. That is best for you; perhaps you will be reminded.

Surah [27] An-Naml : 34

قَالَتۡ اِنَّ الۡمُلُوۡكَ اِذَا دَخَلُوۡا قَرۡيَةً اَفۡسَدُوۡهَا وَجَعَلُوۡۤا اَعِزَّةَ اَهۡلِهَاۤ اَذِلَّةً  ‌ۚ وَكَذٰلِكَ يَفۡعَلُوۡنَ(النمل :34)

قَالَتْ
She said
إِنَّ
"Indeed
ٱلْمُلُوكَ
the kings
إِذَا
when
دَخَلُوا۟
they enter
قَرْيَةً
a town
أَفْسَدُوهَا
they ruin it
وَجَعَلُوٓا۟
and make
أَعِزَّةَ
(the) most honorable
أَهْلِهَآ
(of) its people
أَذِلَّةًۖ
(the) lowest
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
And thus
يَفْعَلُونَ
they do

Qalat inna almulooka itha dakhaloo qaryatan afsadooha waja'aloo a'izzata ahliha athillatan wakathalika yaf'aloona

Sahih International:

She said, "Indeed kings - when they enter a city, they ruin it and render the honored of its people humbled. And thus do they do.

Surah [28] Al-Qasas : 15

وَدَخَلَ الۡمَدِيۡنَةَ عَلٰى حِيۡنِ غَفۡلَةٍ مِّنۡ اَهۡلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيۡهَا رَجُلَيۡنِ يَقۡتَتِلٰنِ هٰذَا مِنۡ شِيۡعَتِهٖ وَهٰذَا مِنۡ عَدُوِّهٖ‌ۚ فَاسۡتَغَاثَهُ الَّذِىۡ مِنۡ شِيۡعَتِهٖ عَلَى الَّذِىۡ مِنۡ عَدُوِّهٖۙ فَوَكَزَهٗ مُوۡسٰى فَقَضٰى عَلَيۡهِ‌ ۖ قَالَ هٰذَا مِنۡ عَمَلِ الشَّيۡطٰنِ‌ ؕ اِنَّهٗ عَدُوٌّ مُّضِلٌّ مُّبِيۡنٌ‏(القصص :15)

وَدَخَلَ
And he entered
ٱلْمَدِينَةَ
the city
عَلَىٰ
at
حِينِ
a time
غَفْلَةٍ
(of) inattention
مِّنْ
of
أَهْلِهَا
its people
فَوَجَدَ
and found
فِيهَا
therein
رَجُلَيْنِ
two men
يَقْتَتِلَانِ
fighting each other
هَٰذَا
this
مِن
of
شِيعَتِهِۦ
his party
وَهَٰذَا
and this
مِنْ
of
عَدُوِّهِۦۖ
his enemy
فَٱسْتَغَٰثَهُ
And called him for help
ٱلَّذِى
the one who
مِن
(was) from
شِيعَتِهِۦ
his party
عَلَى
against
ٱلَّذِى
the one who
مِنْ
(was) from
عَدُوِّهِۦ
his enemy
فَوَكَزَهُۥ
so Musa struck him with his fist
مُوسَىٰ
so Musa struck him with his fist
فَقَضَىٰ
and killed him
عَلَيْهِۖ
and killed him
قَالَ
He said
هَٰذَا
"This (is)
مِنْ
of
عَمَلِ
(the) deed
ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِۖ
(of) Shaitaan
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, he
عَدُوٌّ
(is) an enemy
مُّضِلٌّ
one who misleads
مُّبِينٌ
clearly"

Wadakhala almadeenata 'ala heeni ghaflatin min ahliha fawajada feeha rajulayni yaqtatilani hatha min shee'atihi wahatha min 'aduwwihi faistaghathahu allathee min shee'atihi 'ala allathee min 'aduwwihi fawakazahu moosa faqada 'alayhi qala hatha min 'amali alshshaytani innahu 'aduwwun mudillun mubeenun

Sahih International:

And he entered the city at a time of inattention by its people and found therein two men fighting; one from his faction and one from among his enemy. And the one from his faction called for help to him against the one from his enemy, so Moses struck him and [unintentionally] killed him. [Moses] said, "This is from the work of Satan. Indeed, he is a manifest, misleading enemy."
