وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا
And will avoid it
ٱلْأَشْقَى
the wretched one

Wa yatajannabuhal ashqaa

But the wretched one will avoid it

Tafsir

ٱلَّذِى
The one who
يَصْلَى
will burn
ٱلنَّارَ
(in) the Fire
ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
[the] great

Allazee yaslan Naaral kubraa

[He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire,

Tafsir

ثُمَّ
Then
لَا
not
يَمُوتُ
he will die
فِيهَا
therein
وَلَا
and not
يَحْيَىٰ
will live

Summa laa yamootu feehaa wa laa yahyaa

Neither dying therein nor living.

Tafsir

قَدْ
Certainly
أَفْلَحَ
has succeeded
مَن
(one) who
تَزَكَّىٰ
purifies (himself)

Qad aflaha man tazakkaa

He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself

Tafsir

وَذَكَرَ
And remembers
ٱسْمَ
(the) name
رَبِّهِۦ
(of) his Lord
فَصَلَّىٰ
and prays

Wa zakaras ma Rabbihee fasallaa

And mentions the name of his Lord and prays.

Tafsir

بَلْ
Nay!
تُؤْثِرُونَ
You prefer
ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ
the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
(of) the world

Bal tu'siroonal hayaatad dunyaa

But you prefer the worldly life,

Tafsir

وَٱلْءَاخِرَةُ
While the Hereafter
خَيْرٌ
(is) better
وَأَبْقَىٰٓ
and ever lasting

Wal Aakhiratu khairunw wa abqaa

While the Hereafter is better and more enduring.

Tafsir

إِنَّ
Indeed
هَٰذَا
this
لَفِى
surely (is) in
ٱلصُّحُفِ
the Scriptures
ٱلْأُولَىٰ
[the] former

Inna haazaa lafis suhu fil oolaa

Indeed, this is in the former scriptures,

صُحُفِ
(The) Scriptures
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
(of) Ibrahim
وَمُوسَىٰ
and Musa

Suhufi Ibraaheema wa Moosaa

The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
