Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 164

اِنَّ فِىۡ خَلۡقِ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ وَاخۡتِلَافِ الَّيۡلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَالۡفُلۡكِ الَّتِىۡ تَجۡرِىۡ فِى الۡبَحۡرِ بِمَا يَنۡفَعُ النَّاسَ وَمَآ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰهُ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مِنۡ مَّآءٍ فَاَحۡيَا بِهِ الۡاَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَا وَبَثَّ فِيۡهَا مِنۡ کُلِّ دَآ بَّةٍ وَّتَصۡرِيۡفِ الرِّيٰحِ وَالسَّحَابِ الۡمُسَخَّرِ بَيۡنَ السَّمَآءِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوۡمٍ يَّعۡقِلُوۡنَ(البقرة :164)

إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
خَلْقِ
(the) creation
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the earth
وَٱخْتِلَٰفِ
and alternation
ٱلَّيْلِ
of the night
وَٱلنَّهَارِ
and the day
وَٱلْفُلْكِ
and the ships
ٱلَّتِى
which
تَجْرِى
sail
فِى
in
ٱلْبَحْرِ
the sea
بِمَا
with what
يَنفَعُ
benefits
ٱلنَّاسَ
[the] people
وَمَآ
and what
أَنزَلَ
(has) sent down
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
مِنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
مِن
[of]
مَّآءٍ
water
فَأَحْيَا
giving life
بِهِ
thereby
ٱلْأَرْضَ
(to) the earth
بَعْدَ
after
مَوْتِهَا
its death
وَبَثَّ
and dispersing
فِيهَا
therein
مِن
[of]
كُلِّ
every
دَآبَّةٍ
moving creature
وَتَصْرِيفِ
and directing
ٱلرِّيَٰحِ
(of) the winds
وَٱلسَّحَابِ
and the clouds
ٱلْمُسَخَّرِ
[the] controlled
بَيْنَ
between
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the earth
لَءَايَٰتٍ
surely (are) Signs
لِّقَوْمٍ
for a people
يَعْقِلُونَ
who use their intellect

Inna fee khalqi alssamawati waalardi waikhtilafi allayli waalnnahari waalfulki allatee tajree fee albahri bima yanfa'u alnnasa wama anzala Allahu mina alssamai min main faahya bihi alarda ba'da mawtiha wabaththa feeha min kulli dabbatin watasreefi alrriyahi waalssahabi almusakhkhari bayna alssamai waalardi laayatin liqawmin ya'qiloona

Sahih International:

Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with that which benefits people, and what Allah has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and the earth are signs for a people who use reason.

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 19

اَوۡ كَصَيِّبٍ مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ فِيۡهِ ظُلُمٰتٌ وَّرَعۡدٌ وَّبَرۡقٌ‌ ۚ يَجۡعَلُوۡنَ اَصَابِعَهُمۡ فِىۡۤ اٰذَانِهِمۡ مِّنَ الصَّوَاعِقِ حَذَرَ الۡمَوۡتِ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ مُحِيۡطٌ‌ۢ بِالۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ(البقرة :19)

أَوْ
Or
كَصَيِّبٍ
like a rainstorm
مِّنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
فِيهِ
in it (are)
ظُلُمَٰتٌ
darkness[es]
وَرَعْدٌ
and thunder
وَبَرْقٌ
and lightning
يَجْعَلُونَ
They put
أَصَٰبِعَهُمْ
their fingers
فِىٓ
in
ءَاذَانِهِم
their ears
مِّنَ
from
ٱلصَّوَٰعِقِ
the thunderclaps
حَذَرَ
(in) fear (of)
ٱلْمَوْتِۚ
[the] death
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
مُحِيطٌۢ
(is) [the One Who] encompasses
بِٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
the disbelievers

Aw kasayyibin mina alssamai feehi thulumatun wara'dun wabarqun yaj'aloona asabi'ahum fee athanihim mina alssawa'iqi hathara almawti waAllahu muheetun bialkafireena

Sahih International:

Or [it is] like a rainstorm from the sky within which is darkness, thunder and lightning. They put their fingers in their ears against the thunderclaps in dread of death. But Allah is encompassing of the disbelievers.

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 210

هَلۡ يَنۡظُرُوۡنَ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ يَّاۡتِيَهُمُ اللّٰهُ فِىۡ ظُلَلٍ مِّنَ الۡغَمَامِ وَالۡمَلٰٓٮِٕکَةُ وَقُضِىَ الۡاَمۡرُ‌ؕ وَاِلَى اللّٰهِ تُرۡجَعُ الۡاُمُوۡرُ(البقرة :210)

هَلْ
Are
يَنظُرُونَ
they waiting
إِلَّآ
[except]
أَن
that
يَأْتِيَهُمُ
comes to them
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
فِى
in
ظُلَلٍ
(the) shadows
مِّنَ
of
ٱلْغَمَامِ
[the] clouds
وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
and the Angels
وَقُضِىَ
and is decreed
ٱلْأَمْرُۚ
the matter?
وَإِلَى
And to
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
تُرْجَعُ
return
ٱلْأُمُورُ
(all) the matters

Hal yanthuroona illa an yatiyahumu Allahu fee thulalin mina alghamami waalmalaikatu waqudiya alamru waila Allahi turja'u alomooru

Sahih International:

Do they await but that Allah should come to them in covers of clouds and the angels [as well] and the matter is [then] decided? And to Allah [all] matters are returned.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 57

وَظَلَّلۡنَا عَلَيۡکُمُ الۡغَمَامَ وَاَنۡزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡكُمُ الۡمَنَّ وَالسَّلۡوٰى‌ؕ كُلُوۡا مِنۡ طَيِّبٰتِ مَا رَزَقۡنٰكُمۡ‌ؕ وَمَا ظَلَمُوۡنَا وَلٰـكِنۡ كَانُوۡآ اَنۡفُسَهُمۡ يَظۡلِمُوۡنَ(البقرة :57)

وَظَلَّلْنَا
And We shaded
عَلَيْكُمُ
[over] you
ٱلْغَمَامَ
(with) [the] clouds
وَأَنزَلْنَا
and We sent down
عَلَيْكُمُ
to you
ٱلْمَنَّ
[the] manna
وَٱلسَّلْوَىٰۖ
and [the] quails
كُلُوا۟
"Eat
مِن
from
طَيِّبَٰتِ
(the) good things
مَا
that
رَزَقْنَٰكُمْۖ
We have provided you"
وَمَا
And not
ظَلَمُونَا
they wronged Us
وَلَٰكِن
but
كَانُوٓا۟
they were
أَنفُسَهُمْ
(to) themselves
يَظْلِمُونَ
doing wrong

Wathallalna 'alaykumu alghamama waanzalna 'alaykumu almanna waalssalwa kuloo min tayyibati ma razaqnakum wama thalamoona walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona

Sahih International:

And We shaded you with clouds and sent down to you manna and quails, [saying], "Eat from the good things with which We have provided you." And they wronged Us not - but they were [only] wronging themselves.

Surah [7] Al-A'raf : 160

وَقَطَّعۡنٰهُمُ اثۡنَتَىۡ عَشۡرَةَ اَسۡبَاطًا اُمَمًا‌ ؕ وَاَوۡحَيۡنَاۤ اِلٰى مُوۡسٰٓى اِذِ اسۡتَسۡقٰٮهُ قَوۡمُهٗۤ اَنِ اضۡرِبْ بِّعَصَاكَ الۡحَجَرَ‌ ۚ فَاْنۢبَجَسَتۡ مِنۡهُ اثۡنَتَا عَشۡرَةَ عَيۡنًا‌ ؕ قَدۡ عَلِمَ كُلُّ اُنَاسٍ مَّشۡرَبَهُمۡ‌ؕ وَظَلَّلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمُ الۡغَمَامَ وَاَنۡزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمُ الۡمَنَّ وَالسَّلۡوٰىؕ كُلُوۡا مِنۡ طَيِّبٰتِ مَا رَزَقۡنٰكُمۡ‌ؕ وَ مَا ظَلَمُوۡنَا وَلٰـكِنۡ كَانُوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَهُمۡ يَظۡلِمُوۡنَ(الأعراف :160)

وَقَطَّعْنَٰهُمُ
And We divided them
ٱثْنَتَىْ
(into) two
عَشْرَةَ
(and) ten [i.e. twelve]
أَسْبَاطًا
tribes
أُمَمًاۚ
(as) communities
وَأَوْحَيْنَآ
And We inspired
إِلَىٰ
to
مُوسَىٰٓ
Musa
إِذِ
when
ٱسْتَسْقَىٰهُ
asked him for water
قَوْمُهُۥٓ
his people
أَنِ
[that]
ٱضْرِب
"Strike
بِّعَصَاكَ
with your staff
ٱلْحَجَرَۖ
the stone"
فَٱنۢبَجَسَتْ
Then gushed forth
مِنْهُ
from it
ٱثْنَتَا
two
عَشْرَةَ
(and) ten [i.e. twelve]
عَيْنًاۖ
springs
قَدْ
Certainly
عَلِمَ
knew
كُلُّ
each
أُنَاسٍ
people
مَّشْرَبَهُمْۚ
their drinking place
وَظَلَّلْنَا
And We shaded
عَلَيْهِمُ
[on] them
ٱلْغَمَٰمَ
(with) the clouds
وَأَنزَلْنَا
and We sent down
عَلَيْهِمُ
upon them
ٱلْمَنَّ
the manna
وَٱلسَّلْوَىٰۖ
and the quails
كُلُوا۟
"Eat
مِن
from
طَيِّبَٰتِ
(the) good things
مَا
which
رَزَقْنَٰكُمْۚ
We have provided you"
وَمَا
And not
ظَلَمُونَا
they wronged Us
وَلَٰكِن
but
كَانُوٓا۟
they were
أَنفُسَهُمْ
(to) themselves
يَظْلِمُونَ
doing wrong

Waqatta'nahumu ithnatay 'ashrata asbatan omaman waawhayna ila moosa ithi istasqahu qawmuhu ani idrib bi'asaka alhajara fainbajasat minhu ithnata 'ashrata 'aynan qad 'alima kullu onasin mashrabahum wathallalna 'alayhimu alghamama waanzalna 'alayhimu almanna waalssalwa kuloo min tayyibati ma razaqnakum wama thalamoona walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona

Sahih International:

And We divided them into twelve descendant tribes [as distinct] nations. And We inspired to Moses when his people implored him for water, "Strike with your staff the stone," and there gushed forth from it twelve springs. Every people knew its watering place. And We shaded them with clouds and sent down upon them manna and quails, [saying], "Eat from the good things with which We have provided you." And they wronged Us not, but they were [only] wronging themselves.

Surah [7] Al-A'raf : 57

وَهُوَ الَّذِىۡ يُرۡسِلُ الرِّيٰحَ بُشۡرًۢا بَيۡنَ يَدَىۡ رَحۡمَتِهٖ ‌ؕ حَتّٰۤى اِذَاۤ اَقَلَّتۡ سَحَابًا ثِقَالًا سُقۡنٰهُ لِبَلَدٍ مَّيِّتٍ فَاَنۡزَلۡنَا بِهِ الۡمَآءَ فَاَخۡرَجۡنَا بِهٖ مِنۡ كُلِّ الثَّمَرٰتِ‌ؕ كَذٰلِكَ نُخۡرِجُ الۡمَوۡتٰى لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُوۡنَ‏(الأعراف :57)

وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
يُرْسِلُ
sends
ٱلرِّيَٰحَ
the winds
بُشْرًۢا
(as) glad tidings
بَيْنَ
from
يَدَىْ
before
رَحْمَتِهِۦۖ
His Mercy
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
إِذَآ
when
أَقَلَّتْ
they have carried
سَحَابًا
clouds
ثِقَالًا
heavy
سُقْنَٰهُ
We drive them
لِبَلَدٍ
to a land
مَّيِّتٍ
dead
فَأَنزَلْنَا
then We send down
بِهِ
from it
ٱلْمَآءَ
the water
فَأَخْرَجْنَا
then We bring forth
بِهِۦ
from it
مِن
(of)
كُلِّ
all (kinds)
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِۚ
(of) fruits
كَذَٰلِكَ
Thus
نُخْرِجُ
We will bring forth
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
the dead
لَعَلَّكُمْ
so that you may
تَذَكَّرُونَ
take heed

Wahuwa allathee yursilu alrriyaha bushran bayna yaday rahmatihi hatta itha aqallat sahaban thiqalan suqnahu libaladin mayyitin faanzalna bihi almaa faakhrajna bihi min kulli alththamarati kathalika nukhriju almawta la'allakum tathakkaroona

Sahih International:

And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy until, when they have carried heavy rainclouds, We drive them to a dead land and We send down rain therein and bring forth thereby [some] of all the fruits. Thus will We bring forth the dead; perhaps you may be reminded.

Surah [13] Ar-Ra'd : 12

هُوَ الَّذِىۡ يُرِيۡكُمُ الۡبَرۡقَ خَوۡفًا وَّطَمَعًا وَّيُنۡشِئُ السَّحَابَ الثِّقَالَ‌ۚ‏(الرعد :12)

هُوَ
He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
يُرِيكُمُ
shows you
ٱلْبَرْقَ
the lightning
خَوْفًا
a fear
وَطَمَعًا
and a hope
وَيُنشِئُ
and brings up
ٱلسَّحَابَ
the clouds
ٱلثِّقَالَ
the heavy

Huwa allathee yureekumu albarqa khawfan watama'an wayunshio alssahaba alththiqala

Sahih International:

It is He who shows you lightening, [causing] fear and aspiration, and generates the heavy clouds.

Surah [24] An-Nur : 40

اَوۡ كَظُلُمٰتٍ فِىۡ بَحۡرٍ لُّـجّـِىٍّ يَّغۡشٰٮهُ مَوۡجٌ مِّنۡ فَوۡقِهٖ مَوۡجٌ مِّنۡ فَوۡقِهٖ سَحَابٌ‌ؕ ظُلُمٰتٌۢ بَعۡضُهَا فَوۡقَ بَعۡضٍؕ اِذَاۤ اَخۡرَجَ يَدَهٗ لَمۡ يَكَدۡ يَرٰٮهَا‌ؕ وَمَنۡ لَّمۡ يَجۡعَلِ اللّٰهُ لَهٗ نُوۡرًا فَمَا لَهٗ مِنۡ نُّوۡرٍ(النور :40)

أَوْ
Or
كَظُلُمَٰتٍ
(is) like (the) darkness[es]
فِى
in
بَحْرٍ
a sea
لُّجِّىٍّ
deep
يَغْشَىٰهُ
covers it
مَوْجٌ
a wave
مِّن
on it
فَوْقِهِۦ
on it
مَوْجٌ
a wave
مِّن
on it
فَوْقِهِۦ
on it
سَحَابٌۚ
a cloud
ظُلُمَٰتٌۢ
darkness[es]
بَعْضُهَا
some of it
فَوْقَ
on
بَعْضٍ
others
إِذَآ
When
أَخْرَجَ
he puts out
يَدَهُۥ
his hand
لَمْ
hardly
يَكَدْ
hardly
يَرَىٰهَاۗ
he (can) see it
وَمَن
And (for) whom
لَّمْ
not
يَجْعَلِ
Allah (has) made
ٱللَّهُ
Allah (has) made
لَهُۥ
for him
نُورًا
a light
فَمَا
then not
لَهُۥ
for him
مِن
(is) any
نُّورٍ
light

Aw kathulumatin fee bahrin lujjiyyin yaghshahu mawjun min fawqihi mawjun min fawqihi sahabun thulumatun ba'duha fawqa ba'din itha akhraja yadahu lam yakad yaraha waman lam yaj'ali Allahu lahu nooran fama lahu min noorin

Sahih International:

Or [they are] like darknesses within an unfathomable sea which is covered by waves, upon which are waves, over which are clouds - darknesses, some of them upon others. When one puts out his hand [therein], he can hardly see it. And he to whom Allah has not granted light - for him there is no light.

Surah [24] An-Nur : 43

اَلَمۡ تَرَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يُزۡجِىۡ سَحَابًا ثُمَّ يُؤَلِّفُ بَيۡنَهٗ ثُمَّ يَجۡعَلُهٗ رُكَامًا فَتَرَى الۡوَدۡقَ يَخۡرُجُ مِنۡ خِلٰلِهٖ‌ۚ وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مِنۡ جِبَالٍ فِيۡهَا مِنۡۢ بَرَدٍ فَيُـصِيۡبُ بِهٖ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ وَ يَصۡرِفُهٗ عَنۡ مَّنۡ يَّشَآءُ‌ ؕ يَكَادُ سَنَا بَرۡقِهٖ يَذۡهَبُ بِالۡاَبۡصَارِؕ(النور :43)

أَلَمْ
Do not
تَرَ
you see
أَنَّ
that
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يُزْجِى
drives
سَحَابًا
clouds
ثُمَّ
then
يُؤَلِّفُ
joins
بَيْنَهُۥ
between them
ثُمَّ
then
يَجْعَلُهُۥ
makes them
رُكَامًا
(into) a mass
فَتَرَى
then you see
ٱلْوَدْقَ
the rain
يَخْرُجُ
come forth
مِنْ
from
خِلَٰلِهِۦ
their midst?
وَيُنَزِّلُ
And He sends down
مِنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
(the) sky
مِن
[from]
جِبَالٍ
mountains
فِيهَا
within it
مِنۢ
[of]
بَرَدٍ
(is) hail
فَيُصِيبُ
and He strikes
بِهِۦ
with it
مَن
whom
يَشَآءُ
He wills
وَيَصْرِفُهُۥ
and averts it
عَن
from
مَّن
whom
يَشَآءُۖ
He wills
يَكَادُ
Nearly
سَنَا
(the) flash
بَرْقِهِۦ
(of) its lighting
يَذْهَبُ
takes away
بِٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ
the sight

Alam tara anna Allaha yuzjee sahaban thumma yuallifu baynahu thumma yaj'aluhu rukaman fatara alwadqa yakhruju min khilalihi wayunazzilu mina alssamai min jibalin feeha min baradin fayuseebu bihi man yashao wayasrifuhu 'an man yashao yakadu sana barqihi yathhabu bialabsari

Sahih International:

Do you not see that Allah drives clouds? Then He brings them together, then He makes them into a mass, and you see the rain emerge from within it. And He sends down from the sky, mountains [of clouds] within which is hail, and He strikes with it whom He wills and averts it from whom He wills. The flash of its lightening almost takes away the eyesight.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [25] Al-Furqan : 25

وَيَوۡمَ تَشَقَّقُ السَّمَآءُ بِالۡـغَمَامِ وَنُزِّلَ الۡمَلٰٓٮِٕكَةُ تَنۡزِيۡلًا(الفرقان :25)

وَيَوْمَ
And (the) Day
تَشَقَّقُ
will split open
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
the heavens
بِٱلْغَمَٰمِ
with the clouds
وَنُزِّلَ
and (will be) sent down
ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
the Angels
تَنزِيلًا
descending

Wayawma tashaqqaqu alssamao bialghamami wanuzzila almalaikatu tanzeelan

Sahih International:

And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent.
