وَأُخْرَىٰ
And others
لَمْ
not
تَقْدِرُوا۟
you had power
عَلَيْهَا
over them
قَدْ
surely
أَحَاطَ
Allah encompassed
ٱللَّهُ
Allah encompassed
بِهَاۚ
them
وَكَانَ
and is
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
عَلَىٰ
over
كُلِّ
all
شَىْءٍ
things
قَدِيرًا
All-Powerful

Wa ukhraa lam taqdiroo 'alaihaa qad ahaatal laahu bihaa; wa kaanal laahu 'alaa kulli shai'in qadeera

And [He promises] other [victories] that you were [so far] unable to [realize] which Allah has already encompassed. And ever is Allah, over all things, competent.

Tafsir

وَلَوْ
And if
قَٰتَلَكُمُ
fight you
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieve
لَوَلَّوُا۟
surely they would turn
ٱلْأَدْبَٰرَ
the backs
ثُمَّ
Then
لَا
not
يَجِدُونَ
they would find
وَلِيًّا
any protector
وَلَا
and not
نَصِيرًا
any helper

Wa law qaatalakumul lazeena kafaroo la wallawul adbaara summa laa yajidoona waliyanw-wa laa naseeraa

And if those [Makkans] who disbelieve had fought you, they would have turned their backs [in flight]. Then they would not find a protector or a helper.

Tafsir

سُنَّةَ
(The established) way
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
ٱلَّتِى
which
قَدْ
passed away
خَلَتْ
passed away
مِن
before
قَبْلُۖ
before
وَلَن
and never
تَجِدَ
you will find
لِسُنَّةِ
in (the) way of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
in (the) way of Allah
تَبْدِيلًا
any change

Sunnatal laahil latee qad khalat min qablu wa lan tajida lisunnatil laahi tabdeelaa

[This is] the established way of Allah which has occurred before. And never will you find in the way of Allah any change.

Tafsir

وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
كَفَّ
withheld
أَيْدِيَهُمْ
their hands
عَنكُمْ
from you
وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ
and your hands
عَنْهُم
from them
بِبَطْنِ
within
مَكَّةَ
Makkah
مِنۢ
after
بَعْدِ
after
أَنْ
that
أَظْفَرَكُمْ
He gave you victory
عَلَيْهِمْۚ
over them
وَكَانَ
And is
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
بِمَا
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ
you do
بَصِيرًا
All-Seer

Wa Huwal lazee kaffa aydiyahum 'ankum wa aydiyakum 'anhum bibatni Makkata mim ba'di an azfarakum 'alaihim; wa kaanal laahu bimaa ta'maloona Baseera

And it is He who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them within [the area of] Makkah after He caused you to overcome them. And ever is Allah, of what you do, Seeing.

Tafsir

هُمُ
They
ٱلَّذِينَ
(are) those who
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieved
وَصَدُّوكُمْ
and hindered you
عَنِ
from
ٱلْمَسْجِدِ
Al-Masjid Al-Haraam
ٱلْحَرَامِ
Al-Masjid Al-Haraam
وَٱلْهَدْىَ
while the offering
مَعْكُوفًا
(was) prevented
أَن
from
يَبْلُغَ
reaching
مَحِلَّهُۥۚ
its place (of sacrifice)
وَلَوْلَا
And if not
رِجَالٌ
(for) men
مُّؤْمِنُونَ
believing
وَنِسَآءٌ
and women
مُّؤْمِنَٰتٌ
believing
لَّمْ
not
تَعْلَمُوهُمْ
you knew them
أَن
that
تَطَـُٔوهُمْ
you may trample them
فَتُصِيبَكُم
and would befall you
مِّنْهُم
from them
مَّعَرَّةٌۢ
any harm
بِغَيْرِ
without
عِلْمٍۖ
knowledge
لِّيُدْخِلَ
That Allah may admit
ٱللَّهُ
That Allah may admit
فِى
to
رَحْمَتِهِۦ
His Mercy
مَن
whom
يَشَآءُۚ
He wills
لَوْ
If
تَزَيَّلُوا۟
they had been apart
لَعَذَّبْنَا
surely, We would have punished
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieved
مِنْهُمْ
among them
عَذَابًا
(with) a punishment
أَلِيمًا
painful

Humul lazeena kafaroo wa saddookum 'anil-Masjidil-Haraami walhadya ma'koofan any yablugha mahillah; wa law laa rijaalum mu'minoona wa nisaaa'um mu'minaatul lam ta'lamoohum an tata'oohum fatuseebakum minhum ma'arratum bighairi 'ilmin liyud khilal laahu fee rahmatihee many yashaaa'; law tazayyaloo la'azzabnal lazeena kafaroo minhum 'azaaban aleema

They are the ones who disbelieved and obstructed you from al-Masjid al-Haram while the offering was prevented from reaching its place of sacrifice. And if not for believing men and believing women whom you did not know – that you might trample [i.e., kill] them and there would befall you because of them dishonor without [your] knowledge – [you would have been permitted to enter Makkah]. [This was so] that Allah might admit to His mercy whom He willed. If they had been apart [from them], We would have punished those who disbelieved among them with painful punishment

Tafsir

إِذْ
When
جَعَلَ
had put
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieved
فِى
in
قُلُوبِهِمُ
their hearts
ٱلْحَمِيَّةَ
disdain
حَمِيَّةَ
(the) disdain
ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ
(of) the time of ignorance
فَأَنزَلَ
Then Allah sent down
ٱللَّهُ
Then Allah sent down
سَكِينَتَهُۥ
His tranquility
عَلَىٰ
upon
رَسُولِهِۦ
His Messenger
وَعَلَى
and upon
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
the believers
وَأَلْزَمَهُمْ
and made them adhere
كَلِمَةَ
(to the) word
ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ
(of) righteousness
وَكَانُوٓا۟
and they were
أَحَقَّ
more deserving
بِهَا
of it
وَأَهْلَهَاۚ
and worthy of it
وَكَانَ
And is
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
بِكُلِّ
of every
شَىْءٍ
thing
عَلِيمًا
All-Knower

Iz ja'alal lazeena kafaroo fee quloobihimul hamiyyata hamiyyatal jaahiliyyati fa anzalal laahu sakeenatahoo 'alaa Rasoolihee wa 'alal mu mineena wa alzamahum kalimatat taqwaa wa kaanooo ahaqqa bihaa wa ahlahaa; wa kaanal laahu bikulli shai'in Aleema

When those who disbelieved had put into their hearts chauvinism – the chauvinism of the time of ignorance. But Allah sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the believers and imposed upon them the word of righteousness, and they were more deserving of it and worthy of it. And ever is Allah, of all things, Knowing.

Tafsir

لَّقَدْ
Certainly
صَدَقَ
Allah has fulfilled
ٱللَّهُ
Allah has fulfilled
رَسُولَهُ
His Messenger's
ٱلرُّءْيَا
vision
بِٱلْحَقِّۖ
in truth
لَتَدْخُلُنَّ
Surely, you will enter
ٱلْمَسْجِدَ
Al-Masjid Al-Haraam
ٱلْحَرَامَ
Al-Masjid Al-Haraam
إِن
if
شَآءَ
Allah wills
ٱللَّهُ
Allah wills
ءَامِنِينَ
secure
مُحَلِّقِينَ
having shaved
رُءُوسَكُمْ
your heads
وَمُقَصِّرِينَ
and shortened
لَا
not
تَخَافُونَۖ
fearing
فَعَلِمَ
But He knew
مَا
what
لَمْ
not
تَعْلَمُوا۟
you knew
فَجَعَلَ
and He made
مِن
besides
دُونِ
besides
ذَٰلِكَ
that
فَتْحًا
a victory
قَرِيبًا
near

Laqad sadaqal laahu Rasoolahur ru'yaa bilhaqq, latadkhulunnal Masjidal-Haraama in shaaa'al laahu aamineena muhalliqeena ru'oosakum wa muqassireena laa takhaafoona fa'alima maa lam ta'lamoo faja'ala min dooni zaalika fathan qareebaa

Certainly has Allah showed to His Messenger the vision [i.e., dream] in truth. You will surely enter al-Masjid al-Haram, if Allah wills, in safety, with your heads shaved and [hair] shortened, not fearing [anyone]. He knew what you did not know and has arranged before that a conquest near [at hand].

Tafsir

هُوَ
He
ٱلَّذِىٓ
(is) the One Who
أَرْسَلَ
(has) sent
رَسُولَهُۥ
His Messenger
بِٱلْهُدَىٰ
with guidance
وَدِينِ
and (the) religion
ٱلْحَقِّ
the true
لِيُظْهِرَهُۥ
that He (may) make it prevail
عَلَى
over
ٱلدِّينِ
the religions
كُلِّهِۦۚ
all
وَكَفَىٰ
And sufficient is
بِٱللَّهِ
Allah
شَهِيدًا
(as) a Witness

Huwal lazeee arsala Rasoolahoo bilhudaa wa deenil haqqi liyuzhirahoo 'alad deeni kullih; wa kafaa billaahi Shaheeda

It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion. And sufficient is Allah as Witness.

Tafsir

مُّحَمَّدٌ
Muhammad
رَّسُولُ
(is the) Messenger of Allah
ٱللَّهِۚ
(is the) Messenger of Allah
وَٱلَّذِينَ
and those who
مَعَهُۥٓ
(are) with him
أَشِدَّآءُ
(are) firm
عَلَى
against
ٱلْكُفَّارِ
the disbelievers
رُحَمَآءُ
and merciful
بَيْنَهُمْۖ
among themselves
تَرَىٰهُمْ
You see them
رُكَّعًا
bowing
سُجَّدًا
and prostrating
يَبْتَغُونَ
seeking
فَضْلًا
Bounty
مِّنَ
from Allah
ٱللَّهِ
from Allah
وَرِضْوَٰنًاۖ
and pleasure
سِيمَاهُمْ
Their mark
فِى
(is) on
وُجُوهِهِم
their faces
مِّنْ
from
أَثَرِ
(the) trace
ٱلسُّجُودِۚ
(of) the prostration
ذَٰلِكَ
That
مَثَلُهُمْ
(is) their similitude
فِى
in
ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِۚ
the Taurah
وَمَثَلُهُمْ
And their similitude
فِى
in
ٱلْإِنجِيلِ
the Injeel
كَزَرْعٍ
(is) like a seed
أَخْرَجَ
(which) sends forth
شَطْـَٔهُۥ
its shoot
فَـَٔازَرَهُۥ
then strengthens it
فَٱسْتَغْلَظَ
then it becomes thick
فَٱسْتَوَىٰ
and it stands
عَلَىٰ
upon
سُوقِهِۦ
its stem
يُعْجِبُ
delighting
ٱلزُّرَّاعَ
the sowers
لِيَغِيظَ
that He (may) enrage
بِهِمُ
by them
ٱلْكُفَّارَۗ
the disbelievers
وَعَدَ
Allah has promised
ٱللَّهُ
Allah has promised
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
believe
وَعَمِلُوا۟
and do
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
righteous deeds
مِنْهُم
among them
مَّغْفِرَةً
forgiveness
وَأَجْرًا
and a reward
عَظِيمًۢا
great

Muhammadur Rasoolul laah; wallazeena ma'ahooo ashiddaaa'u 'alal kuffaaari ruhamaaa'u bainahum taraahum rukka'an sujjadany yabtaghoona fadlam minal laahi wa ridwaanan seemaahum fee wujoohihim min asaris sujood; zaalika masaluhum fit tawraah; wa masaluhum fil Injeeli kazar'in akhraja shat 'ahoo fa 'aazarahoo fastaghlaza fastawaa 'alaa sooqihee yu'jibuz zurraa'a liyagheeza bihimul kuffaar; wa'adal laahul lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati minhum maghfiratanw wa ajran 'azeemaa

Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in prayer], seeking bounty from Allah and [His] pleasure. Their sign is in their faces from the effect of prostration [i.e., prayer]. That is their description in the Torah. And their description in the Gospel is as a plant which produces its offshoots and strengthens them so they grow firm and stand upon their stalks, delighting the sowers – so that He [i.e., Allah] may enrage by them the disbelievers. Allah has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds among them forgiveness and a great reward.
