هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهٗ ۚ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبۡ لِىۡ مِنۡ لَّدُنۡكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً ۚ اِنَّكَ سَمِيۡعُ الدُّعَآءِ(آل عمران :38)
Hunalika da'a zakariyya rabbahu qala rabbi hab lee min ladunka thurriyyatan tayyibatan innaka samee'u alddu'ai
Sahih International:
At that, Zechariah called upon his Lord, saying, "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication."
فَنَادَتۡهُ الۡمَلٰٓٮِٕكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآٮِٕمٌ يُّصَلِّىۡ فِى الۡمِحۡرَابِۙ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحۡيٰى مُصَدِّقًۢا بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَسَيِّدًا وَّحَصُوۡرًا وَّنَبِيًّا مِّنَ الصّٰلِحِيۡنَ (آل عمران :39)
Fanadathu almalaikatu wahuwa qaimun yusallee fee almihrabi anna Allaha yubashshiruka biyahya musaddiqan bikalimatin mina Allahi wasayyidan wahasooran wanabiyyan mina alssaliheena
Sahih International:
So the angels called him while he was standing in prayer in the chamber, "Indeed, Allah gives you good tidings of John, confirming a word from Allah and [who will be] honorable, abstaining [from women], and a prophet from among the righteous."
وَزَكَرِيَّا وَيَحۡيٰى وَعِيۡسٰى وَاِلۡيَاسَؕ كُلٌّ مِّنَ الصّٰلِحِيۡنَۙ(الأنعام :85)
Wazakariyya wayahya wa'eesa wailyasa kullun mina alssaliheena
Sahih International:
And Zechariah and John and Jesus and Elias - and all were of the righteous.
قَالَ رَبِّ اجۡعَلْ لِّىۡۤ اٰيَةً ؕ قَالَ اٰيَتُكَ اَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ النَّاسَ ثَلٰثَ لَيَالٍ سَوِيًّا(مريم :10)
Qala rabbi ij'al lee ayatan qala ayatuka alla tukallima alnnasa thalatha layalin sawiyyan
Sahih International:
[Zechariah] said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He said, "Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three nights, [being] sound."
فَخَرَجَ عَلٰى قَوۡمِهٖ مِنَ الۡمِحۡرَابِ فَاَوۡحٰٓى اِلَيۡهِمۡ اَنۡ سَبِّحُوۡا بُكۡرَةً وَّعَشِيًّا(مريم :11)
Fakharaja 'ala qawmihi mina almihrabi faawha ilayhim an sabbihoo bukratan wa'ashiyyan
Sahih International:
So he came out to his people from the prayer chamber and signaled to them to exalt [ Allah ] in the morning and afternoon.
يٰيَحۡيٰى خُذِ الۡكِتٰبَ بِقُوَّةٍ ؕ وَاٰتَيۡنٰهُ الۡحُكۡمَ صَبِيًّا(مريم :12)
Ya yahya khuthi alkitaba biquwwatin waataynahu alhukma sabiyyan
Sahih International:
[ Allah ] said, "O John, take the Scripture with determination." And We gave him judgement [while yet] a boy
وَّحَنَانًـا مِّنۡ لَّدُنَّا وَزَكٰوةً ؕ وَّكَانَ تَقِيًّا(مريم :13)
Wahananan min ladunna wazakatan wakana taqiyyan
Sahih International:
And affection from Us and purity, and he was fearing of Allah
وَّبَرًّۢا بِوَالِدَيۡهِ وَلَمۡ يَكُنۡ جَبَّارًا عَصِيًّا(مريم :14)
Wabarran biwalidayhi walam yakun jabbaran 'asiyyan
Sahih International:
And dutiful to his parents, and he was not a disobedient tyrant.
وَسَلٰمٌ عَلَيۡهِ يَوۡمَ وُلِدَ وَيَوۡمَ يَمُوۡتُ وَيَوۡمَ يُبۡعَثُ حَيًّا(مريم :15)
Wasalamun 'alayhi yawma wulida wayawma yamootu wayawma yub'athu hayyan
Sahih International:
And peace be upon him the day he was born and the day he dies and the day he is raised alive.
وَاِنِّىۡ خِفۡتُ الۡمَوَالِىَ مِنۡ وَّرَآءِىۡ وَكَانَتِ امۡرَاَتِىۡ عَاقِرًا فَهَبۡ لِىۡ مِنۡ لَّدُنۡكَ وَلِيًّا ۙ(مريم :5)
Wainnee khiftu almawaliya min waraee wakanati imraatee 'aqiran fahab lee min ladunka waliyyan
Sahih International:
And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heir
