وَّاِذَا مَسَّهُ الْخَيْرُ مَنُوْعًاۙ  ( المعارج: ٢١ )

wa-idhā
وَإِذَا
And when

مَسَّهُ
touches him
l-khayru
ٱلْخَيْرُ
the good
manūʿan
مَنُوعًا
withholding

And when good touches him, withholding [of it],

Tafsir

اِلَّا الْمُصَلِّيْنَۙ  ( المعارج: ٢٢ )

illā
إِلَّا
Except
l-muṣalīna
ٱلْمُصَلِّينَ
those who pray -

Except the observers of prayer –

Tafsir

الَّذِيْنَ هُمْ عَلٰى صَلَاتِهِمْ دَاۤىِٕمُوْنَۖ  ( المعارج: ٢٣ )

alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
hum
هُمْ
[they]
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
at
ṣalātihim
صَلَاتِهِمْ
their prayer
dāimūna
دَآئِمُونَ
(are) constant

Those who are constant in their prayer

Tafsir

وَالَّذِيْنَ فِيْٓ اَمْوَالِهِمْ حَقٌّ مَّعْلُوْمٌۖ  ( المعارج: ٢٤ )

wa-alladhīna
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
فِىٓ
in
amwālihim
أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ
their wealth
ḥaqqun
حَقٌّ
(is) a right
maʿlūmun
مَّعْلُومٌ
known

And those within whose wealth is a known right

Tafsir

لِّلسَّاۤىِٕلِ وَالْمَحْرُوْمِۖ  ( المعارج: ٢٥ )

lilssāili
لِّلسَّآئِلِ
For the one who asks
wal-maḥrūmi
وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ
and the deprived

For the petitioner and the deprived –

Tafsir

وَالَّذِيْنَ يُصَدِّقُوْنَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّيْنِۖ  ( المعارج: ٢٦ )

wa-alladhīna
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
yuṣaddiqūna
يُصَدِّقُونَ
accept (the) truth
biyawmi
بِيَوْمِ
(of the) Day
l-dīni
ٱلدِّينِ
(of) the Judgment

And those who believe in the Day of Recompense

Tafsir

وَالَّذِيْنَ هُمْ مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّهِمْ مُّشْفِقُوْنَۚ  ( المعارج: ٢٧ )

wa-alladhīna
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
hum
هُم
[they]
min
مِّنْ
of
ʿadhābi
عَذَابِ
(the) punishment
rabbihim
رَبِّهِم
(of) their Lord
mush'fiqūna
مُّشْفِقُونَ
(are) fearful -

And those who are fearful of the punishment of their Lord –

Tafsir

اِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّهِمْ غَيْرُ مَأْمُوْنٍۖ  ( المعارج: ٢٨ )

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
ʿadhāba
عَذَابَ
(the) punishment
rabbihim
رَبِّهِمْ
(of) your Lord
ghayru
غَيْرُ
(is) not
mamūnin
مَأْمُونٍ
to be felt secure (of) -

Indeed, the punishment of their Lord is not that from which one is safe –

Tafsir

وَّالَّذِيْنَ هُمْ لِفُرُوْجِهِمْ حٰفِظُوْنَۙ  ( المعارج: ٢٩ )

wa-alladhīna
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
hum
هُمْ
[they]
lifurūjihim
لِفُرُوجِهِمْ
their modesty
ḥāfiẓūna
حَٰفِظُونَ
(are) guardians

And those who guard their private parts

Tafsir

اِلَّا عَلٰٓى اَزْوَاجِهِمْ اَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ اَيْمَانُهُمْ فَاِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُوْمِيْنَۚ  ( المعارج: ٣٠ )

إِلَّا
Except
ʿalā
عَلَىٰٓ
from
azwājihim
أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ
their spouses
aw
أَوْ
or
مَا
what
malakat
مَلَكَتْ
they possess
aymānuhum
أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ
rightfully
fa-innahum
فَإِنَّهُمْ
then indeed, they
ghayru
غَيْرُ
(are) not
malūmīna
مَلُومِينَ
blameworthy

Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed –
