وَاُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَ غَيْرَ بَعِيْدٍ   ( ق: ٣١ )

wa-uz'lifati
وَأُزْلِفَتِ
And will be brought near
l-janatu
ٱلْجَنَّةُ
the Paradise
lil'muttaqīna
لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
to the righteous
ghayra
غَيْرَ
not
baʿīdin
بَعِيدٍ
far

And Paradise will be brought near to the righteous, not far,

Tafsir

هٰذَا مَا تُوْعَدُوْنَ لِكُلِّ اَوَّابٍ حَفِيْظٍۚ  ( ق: ٣٢ )

hādhā
هَٰذَا
"This
مَا
(is) what
tūʿadūna
تُوعَدُونَ
you were promised
likulli
لِكُلِّ
for everyone
awwābin
أَوَّابٍ
who turns
ḥafīẓin
حَفِيظٍ
(and) who keeps

[It will be said], "This is what you were promised – for every returner [to Allah] and keeper [of His covenant].

Tafsir

مَنْ خَشِيَ الرَّحْمٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ وَجَاۤءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُّنِيْبٍۙ  ( ق: ٣٣ )

man
مَّنْ
Who
khashiya
خَشِىَ
feared
l-raḥmāna
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنَ
the Most Gracious
bil-ghaybi
بِٱلْغَيْبِ
in the unseen
wajāa
وَجَآءَ
and came
biqalbin
بِقَلْبٍ
with a heart
munībin
مُّنِيبٍ
returning

Who feared the Most Merciful in the unseen and came with a heart returning [in repentance].

Tafsir

ۨادْخُلُوْهَا بِسَلٰمٍ ۗذٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُلُوْدِ   ( ق: ٣٤ )

ud'khulūhā
ٱدْخُلُوهَا
Enter it
bisalāmin
بِسَلَٰمٍۖ
in peace
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
That
yawmu
يَوْمُ
(is) a Day
l-khulūdi
ٱلْخُلُودِ
(of) Eternity"

Enter it in peace. This is the Day of Eternity."

Tafsir

لَهُمْ مَّا يَشَاۤءُوْنَ فِيْهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيْدٌ   ( ق: ٣٥ )

lahum
لَهُم
For them
مَّا
whatever
yashāūna
يَشَآءُونَ
they wish
fīhā
فِيهَا
therein
waladaynā
وَلَدَيْنَا
and with Us
mazīdun
مَزِيدٌ
(is) more

They will have whatever they wish therein, and with Us is more.

Tafsir

وَكَمْ اَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِّنْ قَرْنٍ هُمْ اَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوْا فِى الْبِلَادِۗ هَلْ مِنْ مَّحِيْصٍ   ( ق: ٣٦ )

wakam
وَكَمْ
And how many
ahlaknā
أَهْلَكْنَا
We destroyed
qablahum
قَبْلَهُم
before them
min
مِّن
of
qarnin
قَرْنٍ
a generation
hum
هُمْ
they
ashaddu
أَشَدُّ
(were) stronger
min'hum
مِنْهُم
than them
baṭshan
بَطْشًا
(in) power
fanaqqabū
فَنَقَّبُوا۟
so they explored
فِى
throughout
l-bilādi
ٱلْبِلَٰدِ
the lands
hal
هَلْ
Is (there)
min
مِن
any
maḥīṣin
مَّحِيصٍ
place of escape?

And how many a generation before them did We destroy who were greater than them in [striking] power and had explored throughout the lands. Is there any place of escape?

Tafsir

اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَذِكْرٰى لِمَنْ كَانَ لَهٗ قَلْبٌ اَوْ اَلْقَى السَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيْدٌ   ( ق: ٣٧ )

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
that
ladhik'rā
لَذِكْرَىٰ
surely, is a reminder
liman
لِمَن
for (one) who
kāna
كَانَ
is
lahu
لَهُۥ
for him
qalbun
قَلْبٌ
a heart
aw
أَوْ
or
alqā
أَلْقَى
(who) gives ear
l-samʿa
ٱلسَّمْعَ
(who) gives ear
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
while he
shahīdun
شَهِيدٌ
(is) a witness

Indeed in that is a reminder for whoever has a heart or who listens while he is present [in mind].

Tafsir

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِيْ سِتَّةِ اَيَّامٍۖ وَّمَا مَسَّنَا مِنْ لُّغُوْبٍ   ( ق: ٣٨ )

walaqad
وَلَقَدْ
And certainly
khalaqnā
خَلَقْنَا
We created
l-samāwāti
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
the heavens
wal-arḍa
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
and the earth
wamā
وَمَا
and whatever
baynahumā
بَيْنَهُمَا
(is) between both of them
فِى
in
sittati
سِتَّةِ
six
ayyāmin
أَيَّامٍ
periods
wamā
وَمَا
and (did) not
massanā
مَسَّنَا
touch Us
min
مِن
any
lughūbin
لُّغُوبٍ
fatigue

And We did certainly create the heavens and earth and what is between them in six days, and there touched Us no weariness.

Tafsir

فَاصْبِرْ عَلٰى مَا يَقُوْلُوْنَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوْعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوْبِ   ( ق: ٣٩ )

fa-iṣ'bir
فَٱصْبِرْ
So be patient
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
over
مَا
what
yaqūlūna
يَقُولُونَ
they say
wasabbiḥ
وَسَبِّحْ
and glorify
biḥamdi
بِحَمْدِ
(the) praise
rabbika
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
qabla
قَبْلَ
before
ṭulūʿi
طُلُوعِ
(the) rising
l-shamsi
ٱلشَّمْسِ
(of) the sun
waqabla
وَقَبْلَ
and before
l-ghurūbi
ٱلْغُرُوبِ
the setting

So be patient, [O Muhammad], over what they say and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting,

Tafsir

وَمِنَ الَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَاَدْبَارَ السُّجُوْدِ   ( ق: ٤٠ )

wamina
وَمِنَ
And of
al-layli
ٱلَّيْلِ
the night
fasabbiḥ'hu
فَسَبِّحْهُ
glorify Him
wa-adbāra
وَأَدْبَٰرَ
and after
l-sujūdi
ٱلسُّجُودِ
the prostration

And [in part] of the night exalt Him and after prostration [i.e., prayer].
