قُلْ اِنِّيْ لَآ اَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّا وَّلَا رَشَدًا   ( الجن: ٢١ )

possess
lakum
لَكُمْ
for you
ḍarran
ضَرًّا
any harm
walā
وَلَا
and not
rashadan
رَشَدًا
right path"

Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you [the power of] harm or right direction."

Tafsir

قُلْ اِنِّيْ لَنْ يُّجِيْرَنِيْ مِنَ اللّٰهِ اَحَدٌ ەۙ وَّلَنْ اَجِدَ مِنْ دُوْنِهٖ مُلْتَحَدًا ۙ  ( الجن: ٢٢ )

can protect me

l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
aḥadun
أَحَدٌ

dūnihi
دُونِهِۦ
besides Him
mul'taḥadan
مُلْتَحَدًا
any refuge

Say, "Indeed, there will never protect me from Allah anyone [if I should disobey], nor will I find in other than Him a refuge.

Tafsir

اِلَّا بَلٰغًا مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَرِسٰلٰتِهٖۗ وَمَنْ يَّعْصِ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ فَاِنَّ لَهٗ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَآ اَبَدًاۗ  ( الجن: ٢٣ )

بَلَٰغًا
(the) notification
mina
مِّنَ
from
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
warisālātihi
وَرِسَٰلَٰتِهِۦۚ
and His Messages"
waman
وَمَن
And whoever
yaʿṣi
يَعْصِ
disobeys
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
warasūlahu
وَرَسُولَهُۥ
and His Messenger
fa-inna
فَإِنَّ
then indeed
lahu
لَهُۥ
for him
nāra
نَارَ
(is the) Fire
jahannama
جَهَنَّمَ
(of) Hell
khālidīna
خَٰلِدِينَ
(they will) abide
fīhā
فِيهَآ
therein
abadan
أَبَدًا
forever

But [I have for you] only notification from Allah, and His messages." And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger – then indeed, for him is the fire of Hell; they will abide therein forever.

Tafsir

حَتّٰىٓ اِذَا رَاَوْا مَا يُوْعَدُوْنَ فَسَيَعْلَمُوْنَ مَنْ اَضْعَفُ نَاصِرًا وَّاَقَلُّ عَدَدًاۗ  ( الجن: ٢٤ )

ḥattā
حَتَّىٰٓ
Until
idhā
إِذَا
when
ra-aw
رَأَوْا۟
they see
مَا
what
yūʿadūna
يُوعَدُونَ
they are promised
fasayaʿlamūna
فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ
then they will know
man
مَنْ
who
aḍʿafu
أَضْعَفُ
(is) weaker
nāṣiran
نَاصِرًا
(in) helpers
wa-aqallu
وَأَقَلُّ
and fewer
ʿadadan
عَدَدًا
(in) number

[The disbelievers continue] until, when they see that which they are promised, then they will know who is weaker in helpers and less in number.

Tafsir

قُلْ اِنْ اَدْرِيْٓ اَقَرِيْبٌ مَّا تُوْعَدُوْنَ اَمْ يَجْعَلُ لَهٗ رَبِّيْٓ اَمَدًا   ( الجن: ٢٥ )

my Lord
amadan
أَمَدًا
a (distant) term

Say, "I do not know if what you are promised is near or if my Lord will grant for it a [long] period."

Tafsir

عٰلِمُ الْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلٰى غَيْبِهٖٓ اَحَدًاۙ  ( الجن: ٢٦ )

ʿālimu
عَٰلِمُ
(The) All-Knower
l-ghaybi
ٱلْغَيْبِ
(of) the unseen
falā
فَلَا
so not
yuẓ'hiru
يُظْهِرُ
He reveals
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
from
ghaybihi
غَيْبِهِۦٓ
His unseen
aḥadan
أَحَدًا
(to) anyone

[He is] Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] unseen to anyone

Tafsir

اِلَّا مَنِ ارْتَضٰى مِنْ رَّسُوْلٍ فَاِنَّهٗ يَسْلُكُ مِنْۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهٖ رَصَدًاۙ  ( الجن: ٢٧ )

ٱرْتَضَىٰ
He has approved

مِن

rasūlin
رَّسُولٍ
a Messenger
fa-innahu
فَإِنَّهُۥ
and indeed, He
yasluku
يَسْلُكُ
makes to march
min
مِنۢ
from
bayni
بَيْنِ
before
yadayhi
يَدَيْهِ
him
wamin
وَمِنْ
and from
khalfihi
خَلْفِهِۦ
behind him
raṣadan
رَصَدًا
a guard

Except whom He has approved of messengers, and indeed, He sends before him [i.e., each messenger] and behind him observers

Tafsir

لِّيَعْلَمَ اَنْ قَدْ اَبْلَغُوْا رِسٰلٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَاَحَاطَ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ وَاَحْصٰى كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عَدَدًا ࣖ  ( الجن: ٢٨ )

That He may make evident

أَبْلَغُوا۟
they have conveyed
risālāti
رِسَٰلَٰتِ
(the) Messages
rabbihim
رَبِّهِمْ
(of) their Lord;
wa-aḥāṭa
وَأَحَاطَ
and He has encompassed
bimā
بِمَا
what
ladayhim
لَدَيْهِمْ
(is) with them
wa-aḥṣā
وَأَحْصَىٰ
and He takes account
kulla
كُلَّ
(of) all
shayin
شَىْءٍ
things
ʿadadan
عَدَدًۢا
(in) number"

That he [i.e., Muhammad (^)] may know that they have conveyed the messages of their Lord; and He has encompassed whatever is with them and has enumerated all things in number.
