وَاِذَا مَسَّ الۡاِنۡسَانَ الضُّرُّ دَعَانَا لِجَنۡۢبِهٖۤ اَوۡ قَاعِدًا اَوۡ قَآٮِٕمًا ۚ فَلَمَّا كَشَفۡنَا عَنۡهُ ضُرَّهٗ مَرَّ كَاَنۡ لَّمۡ يَدۡعُنَاۤ اِلٰى ضُرٍّ مَّسَّهٗؕ كَذٰلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلۡمُسۡرِفِيۡنَ مَا كَانُوۡا يَعۡمَلُوۡنَ(يونس :12)
Waitha massa alinsana alddurru da'ana lijanbihi aw qa'idan aw qaiman falamma kashafna 'anhu durrahu marra kaan lam yad'una ila durrin massahu kathalika zuyyina lilmusrifeena ma kanoo ya'maloona
Sahih International:
And when affliction touches man, he calls upon Us, whether lying on his side or sitting or standing; but when We remove from him his affliction, he continues [in disobedience] as if he had never called upon Us to [remove] an affliction that touched him. Thus is made pleasing to the transgressors that which they have been doing
وَلَٮِٕنۡ اَذَقۡنٰهُ نَـعۡمَآءَ بَعۡدَ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتۡهُ لَيَـقُوۡلَنَّ ذَهَبَ السَّيِّاٰتُ عَنِّىۡ ؕ اِنَّهٗ لَـفَرِحٌ فَخُوۡرٌۙ(هود :10)
Walain athaqnahu na'maa ba'da darraa massathu layaqoolanna thahaba alssayyiatu 'annee innahu lafarihun fakhoorun
Sahih International:
But if We give him a taste of favor after hardship has touched him, he will surely say, "Bad times have left me." Indeed, he is exultant and boastful -
وَلَٮِٕنۡ اَذَقۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ مِنَّا رَحۡمَةً ثُمَّ نَزَعۡنٰهَا مِنۡهُۚ اِنَّهٗ لَيَـــُٔوۡسٌ كَفُوۡرٌ(هود :9)
Walain athaqna alinsana minna rahmatan thumma naza'naha minhu innahu layaoosun kafoorun
Sahih International:
And if We give man a taste of mercy from Us and then We withdraw it from him, indeed, he is despairing and ungrateful.
وَمَا بِكُمۡ مِّنۡ نّـِعۡمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللّٰهِ ثُمَّ اِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فَاِلَيۡهِ تَجْئَرُوۡنَۚ(النحل :53)
Wama bikum min ni'matin famina Allahi thumma itha massakumu alddurru failayhi tajaroona
Sahih International:
And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allah . Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help.
ثُمَّ اِذَا كَشَفَ الضُّرَّ عَنۡكُمۡ اِذَا فَرِيۡقٌ مِّنۡكُمۡ بِرَبِّهِمۡ يُشۡرِكُوۡنَۙ(النحل :54)
Thumma itha kashafa alddurra 'ankum itha fareequn minkum birabbihim yushrikoona
Sahih International:
Then when He removes the adversity from you, at once a party of you associates others with their Lord
لِيَكۡفُرُوۡا بِمَاۤ اٰتَيۡنٰهُمۡؕ فَتَمَتَّعُوۡا ۖ فَسَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ(النحل :55)
Liyakfuroo bima ataynahum fatamatta'oo fasawfa ta'lamoona
Sahih International:
So they will deny what We have given them. Then enjoy yourselves, for you are going to know.
وَاِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فِى الۡبَحۡرِ ضَلَّ مَنۡ تَدۡعُوۡنَ اِلَّاۤ اِيَّاهُ ۚ فَلَمَّا نَجّٰٮكُمۡ اِلَى الۡبَرِّ اَعۡرَضۡتُمۡ ؕ وَكَانَ الۡاِنۡسَانُ كَفُوۡرًا(الإسراء :67)
Waitha massakumu alddurru fee albahri dalla man tad'oona illa iyyahu falamma najjakum ila albarri a'radtum wakana alinsanu kafooran
Sahih International:
And when adversity touches you at sea, lost are [all] those you invoke except for Him. But when He delivers you to the land, you turn away [from Him]. And ever is man ungrateful.
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنۡ يَّقُوۡلُ اٰمَنَّا بِاللّٰهِ فَاِذَاۤ اُوۡذِىَ فِى اللّٰهِ جَعَلَ فِتۡنَةَ النَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ اللّٰهِؕ وَلَٮِٕنۡ جَآءَ نَـصۡرٌ مِّنۡ رَّبِّكَ لَيَـقُوۡلُنَّ اِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمۡؕ اَوَلَـيۡسَ اللّٰهُ بِاَعۡلَمَ بِمَا فِىۡ صُدُوۡرِ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ(العنكبوت :10)
Wamina alnnasi man yaqoolu amanna biAllahi faitha oothiya fee Allahi ja'ala fitnata alnnasi ka'athabi Allahi walain jaa nasrun min rabbika layaqoolunna inna kunna ma'akum awalaysa Allahu bia'lama bima fee sudoori al'alameena
Sahih International:
And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allah, they consider the trial of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allah . But if victory comes from your Lord, they say, "Indeed, We were with you." Is not Allah most knowing of what is within the breasts of all creatures?
وَاِذَا مَسَّ النَّاسَ ضُرٌّ دَعَوۡا رَبَّهُمۡ مُّنِيۡبِيۡنَ اِلَيۡهِ ثُمَّ اِذَاۤ اَذَاقَهُمۡ مِّنۡهُ رَحۡمَةً اِذَا فَرِيۡقٌ مِّنۡهُمۡ بِرَبِّهِمۡ يُشۡرِكُوۡنَۙ(الروم :33)
Waitha massa alnnasa durrun da'aw rabbahum muneebeena ilayhi thumma itha athaqahum minhu rahmatan itha fareequn minhum birabbihim yushrikoona
Sahih International:
And when adversity touches the people, they call upon their Lord, turning in repentance to Him. Then when He lets them taste mercy from Him, at once a party of them associate others with their Lord,
وَاِذَا غَشِيَهُمۡ مَّوۡجٌ كَالظُّلَلِ دَعَوُا اللّٰهَ مُخۡلِصِيۡنَ لَهُ الدِّيۡنَ فَلَمَّا نَجّٰٮهُمۡ اِلَى الۡبَـرِّ فَمِنۡهُمۡ مُّقۡتَصِدٌ ؕ وَمَا يَجۡحَدُ بِاٰيٰتِنَاۤ اِلَّا كُلُّ خَتَّارٍ كَفُوۡرٍ(لقمان :32)
Waitha ghashiyahum mawjun kaalththulali da'awoo Allaha mukhliseena lahu alddeena falamma najjahum ila albarri faminhum muqtasidun wama yajhadu biayatina illa kullu khattarin kafoorin
Sahih International:
And when waves come over them like canopies, they supplicate Allah, sincere to Him in religion. But when He delivers them to the land, there are [some] of them who are moderate [in faith]. And none rejects Our signs except everyone treacherous and ungrateful.
