ثُمَّ
Then
إِنَّكُمْ
indeed you
يَوْمَ
(on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
(of) the Resurrection
عِندَ
before
رَبِّكُمْ
your Lord
تَخْتَصِمُونَ
will dispute

Summa innakum Yawmal Qiyaamati 'inda Rabbikum takhtasimoon

Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, before your Lord, will dispute.

Tafsir

فَمَنْ
Then who
أَظْلَمُ
(is) more unjust
مِمَّن
than (one) who
كَذَبَ
lies
عَلَى
against
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
وَكَذَّبَ
and denies
بِٱلصِّدْقِ
the truth
إِذْ
when
جَآءَهُۥٓۚ
it comes to him?
أَلَيْسَ
Is (there) not
فِى
in
جَهَنَّمَ
Hell
مَثْوًى
an abode
لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ
for the disbelievers?

Faman azlamu mimman kazaba 'alal laahi wa kazzaba bissidqi iz jaaa'ah; alaisa fee Jahannama maswal lilkaafir

So who is more unjust than one who lies about Allah and denies the truth when it has come to him? Is there not in Hell a residence for the disbelievers?

Tafsir

وَٱلَّذِى
And the one who
جَآءَ
brought
بِٱلصِّدْقِ
the truth
وَصَدَّقَ
and believed
بِهِۦٓۙ
in it
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
those
هُمُ
[they]
ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ
(are) the righteous

Wallazee jaaa'a bissidqi wa saddaqa biheee ulaaa'ika humul muttaqoon

And the one who has brought the truth [i.e., the Prophet (^)] and [they who] believed in it – those are the righteous.

Tafsir

لَهُم
For them
مَّا
(is) what
يَشَآءُونَ
they wish
عِندَ
with
رَبِّهِمْۚ
their Lord
ذَٰلِكَ
That
جَزَآءُ
(is the) reward
ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
(of) the good-doers

Lahum maa yashaaa'oona 'inda Rabbihim; zaalika jazaaa'ul muhsineen

They will have whatever they desire with their Lord. That is the reward of the doers of good –

Tafsir

لِيُكَفِّرَ
That Allah will remove
ٱللَّهُ
That Allah will remove
عَنْهُمْ
from them
أَسْوَأَ
(the) worst
ٱلَّذِى
(of) what
عَمِلُوا۟
they did
وَيَجْزِيَهُمْ
and reward them
أَجْرَهُم
their due
بِأَحْسَنِ
for (the) best
ٱلَّذِى
(of) what
كَانُوا۟
they used (to)
يَعْمَلُونَ
do

Liyukaffiral laahu 'anhum aswa allazee 'amiloo wa yajziyahum ajrahum bi ahsanil lazee kaano ya'maloon

That Allah may remove from them the worst of what they did and reward them their due for the best of what they used to do.

Tafsir

أَلَيْسَ
Is not
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
بِكَافٍ
sufficient
عَبْدَهُۥۖ
(for) His slave?
وَيُخَوِّفُونَكَ
And they threaten you
بِٱلَّذِينَ
with those
مِن
besides Him
دُونِهِۦۚ
besides Him
وَمَن
And whoever
يُضْلِلِ
Allah lets go astray
ٱللَّهُ
Allah lets go astray
فَمَا
then not
لَهُۥ
for him
مِنْ
any
هَادٍ
guide

Alaisal laahu bikaafin 'abdahoo wa yukhawwi foonaka billazeena min doonih; wa mai yudlilil laahu famaa lahoo min haad

Is not Allah sufficient for His Servant [i.e., Prophet Muhammad (^)]? And [yet], they threaten you with those [they worship] other than Him. And whoever Allah leaves astray – for him there is no guide.

Tafsir

وَمَن
And whoever
يَهْدِ
Allah guides
ٱللَّهُ
Allah guides
فَمَا
then not
لَهُۥ
for him
مِن
any
مُّضِلٍّۗ
misleader
أَلَيْسَ
Is not
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
بِعَزِيزٍ
All-Mighty
ذِى
All-Able of retribution?
ٱنتِقَامٍ
All-Able of retribution?

Wa mai yahdil laahu famalahoo mim mudlil; alai sal laahu bi'azeezin zin tiqaam

And whoever Allah guides – for him there is no misleader. Is not Allah Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution?

Tafsir

وَلَئِن
And if
سَأَلْتَهُم
you ask them
مَّنْ
who
خَلَقَ
created
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
and the earth?
لَيَقُولُنَّ
Surely, they will say
ٱللَّهُۚ
"Allah"
قُلْ
Say
أَفَرَءَيْتُم
"Then do you see
مَّا
what
تَدْعُونَ
you invoke
مِن
besides
دُونِ
besides
ٱللَّهِ
Allah?
إِنْ
if
أَرَادَنِىَ
Allah intended for me
ٱللَّهُ
Allah intended for me
بِضُرٍّ
harm
هَلْ
are
هُنَّ
they
كَٰشِفَٰتُ
removers
ضُرِّهِۦٓ
(of) harm (from) Him
أَوْ
or
أَرَادَنِى
if He intended for me
بِرَحْمَةٍ
mercy
هَلْ
are
هُنَّ
they
مُمْسِكَٰتُ
withholders
رَحْمَتِهِۦۚ
(of) His mercy?"
قُلْ
Say
حَسْبِىَ
"Sufficient (is) Allah for me
ٱللَّهُۖ
"Sufficient (is) Allah for me
عَلَيْهِ
upon Him
يَتَوَكَّلُ
put trust
ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ
those who trust"

Wa la'in sa altahum man khalaqas samaawaati wal arda la yaqoolunal laah; qul afara'aitum maa tad'oona min doonil laahi in araadaniyal laahu bidurrin hal hunna kaashi faatu durriheee aw araadanee birahmatin hal hunna mumsikaatu rahmatih; qul hasbiyal laahu 'alaihi tatawakkalul mutawakkiloon

And if you asked them, "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "Allah." Say, "Then have you considered what you invoke besides Allah? If Allah intended me harm, are they removers of His harm; or if He intended me mercy, are they withholders of His mercy?" Say, "Sufficient for me is Allah; upon Him [alone] rely the [wise] reliers."

Tafsir

قُلْ
Say
يَٰقَوْمِ
"O my people!
ٱعْمَلُوا۟
Work
عَلَىٰ
(according) to
مَكَانَتِكُمْ
your position
إِنِّى
indeed I am
عَٰمِلٌۖ
working;
فَسَوْفَ
then soon
تَعْلَمُونَ
you will know

Qul yaa qawmi'maloo 'alaa makaanatikum innee 'aamilun fasawfa ta'lamoon

Say, "O my people, work according to your position, [for] indeed, I am working; and you are going to know

Tafsir

مَن
(Upon) whom
يَأْتِيهِ
will come
عَذَابٌ
a punishment
يُخْزِيهِ
disgracing him
وَيَحِلُّ
and descends
عَلَيْهِ
on him
عَذَابٌ
a punishment
مُّقِيمٌ
everlasting"

Mai yaateehi 'azaabuny yukhzeehi wa yahillu 'alaihi 'azaabum muqeem

To whom will come a torment disgracing him and on whom will descend an enduring punishment."
