يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O mankind!
ٱلنَّاسُ
O mankind!
ٱتَّقُوا۟
Fear
رَبَّكُمْۚ
your Lord
إِنَّ
Indeed
زَلْزَلَةَ
(the) convulsion
ٱلسَّاعَةِ
(of) the Hour
شَىْءٌ
(is) a thing
عَظِيمٌ
great

Yaaa ayyuhan naasuttaqoo Rabbakum; inna zalzalatas Saa'ati shai'un 'azeem

O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the [final] Hour is a terrible thing.

Tafsir

يَوْمَ
(The) Day
تَرَوْنَهَا
you will see it
تَذْهَلُ
will forget
كُلُّ
every
مُرْضِعَةٍ
nursing mother
عَمَّآ
that which
أَرْضَعَتْ
she was nursing
وَتَضَعُ
and will deliver
كُلُّ
every
ذَاتِ
pregnant woman
حَمْلٍ
pregnant woman
حَمْلَهَا
her load
وَتَرَى
and you will see
ٱلنَّاسَ
[the] mankind
سُكَٰرَىٰ
intoxicated
وَمَا
while not
هُم
they
بِسُكَٰرَىٰ
(are) intoxicated
وَلَٰكِنَّ
but
عَذَابَ
(the) punishment
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
شَدِيدٌ
(will be) severe

Yawma tarawnahaa tazhalu kullu murdi'atin 'ammaaa arda'at wa tada'u kullu zaati hamlin hamlahaa wa tarannaasa sukaaraa wa maa hum bisukaaraa wa lakinaa 'azaabal laahi shadeed

On the Day you see it every nursing mother will be distracted from that [child] she was nursing, and every pregnant woman will abort her pregnancy, and you will see the people [appearing] intoxicated while they are not intoxicated; but the punishment of Allah is severe.

Tafsir

وَمِنَ
And among
ٱلنَّاسِ
the mankind
مَن
(is he) who
يُجَٰدِلُ
disputes
فِى
concerning
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
بِغَيْرِ
without
عِلْمٍ
knowledge
وَيَتَّبِعُ
and follows
كُلَّ
every
شَيْطَٰنٍ
devil
مَّرِيدٍ
rebellious

Wa minan naasi mai yujaadilu fil laahi bighairi 'ilminw wa yattabi'u kullaa shaitaanim mareed

And of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge and follows every rebellious devil.

Tafsir

كُتِبَ
It has been decreed
عَلَيْهِ
for him
أَنَّهُۥ
that he
مَن
who
تَوَلَّاهُ
befriends him
فَأَنَّهُۥ
then indeed he
يُضِلُّهُۥ
will misguide him
وَيَهْدِيهِ
and will guide him
إِلَىٰ
to
عَذَابِ
(the) punishment
ٱلسَّعِيرِ
(of) the Blaze

Kutiba 'alaihi annahoo man tawallaahu fa annahoo yudil lauhoo wa yahdeehi ilaa 'azaabis sa'eer

It has been decreed for him [i.e., every devil] that whoever turns to him – he will misguide him and will lead him to the punishment of the Blaze.

Tafsir

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O mankind!
ٱلنَّاسُ
O mankind!
إِن
If
كُنتُمْ
you are
فِى
in
رَيْبٍ
doubt
مِّنَ
about
ٱلْبَعْثِ
the Resurrection
فَإِنَّا
then indeed, We
خَلَقْنَٰكُم
We created you
مِّن
from
تُرَابٍ
dust
ثُمَّ
then
مِن
from
نُّطْفَةٍ
a semen-drop
ثُمَّ
then
مِنْ
from
عَلَقَةٍ
a clinging substance
ثُمَّ
then
مِن
from
مُّضْغَةٍ
an embryonic lump
مُّخَلَّقَةٍ
formed
وَغَيْرِ
and unformed
مُخَلَّقَةٍ
and unformed
لِّنُبَيِّنَ
that We may make clear
لَكُمْۚ
to you
وَنُقِرُّ
And We cause to remain
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْحَامِ
the wombs
مَا
what
نَشَآءُ
We will
إِلَىٰٓ
for
أَجَلٍ
a term
مُّسَمًّى
appointed
ثُمَّ
then
نُخْرِجُكُمْ
We bring you out
طِفْلًا
(as) a child
ثُمَّ
[then]
لِتَبْلُغُوٓا۟
that you may reach
أَشُدَّكُمْۖ
[your] maturity
وَمِنكُم
And among you
مَّن
(is he) who
يُتَوَفَّىٰ
dies
وَمِنكُم
and among you
مَّن
(is he) who
يُرَدُّ
is returned
إِلَىٰٓ
to
أَرْذَلِ
the most abject
ٱلْعُمُرِ
age
لِكَيْلَا
so that not
يَعْلَمَ
he knows
مِنۢ
after
بَعْدِ
after
عِلْمٍ
having known
شَيْـًٔاۚ
anything
وَتَرَى
And you see
ٱلْأَرْضَ
the earth
هَامِدَةً
barren
فَإِذَآ
then when
أَنزَلْنَا
We send down
عَلَيْهَا
on it
ٱلْمَآءَ
water
ٱهْتَزَّتْ
it gets stirred
وَرَبَتْ
and it swells
وَأَنۢبَتَتْ
and grows
مِن
of
كُلِّ
every
زَوْجٍۭ
kind
بَهِيجٍ
beautiful

Yaaa ayyuhan naasu in kuntum fee raibim minal ba'si fa innaa khalaqnaakum min turaabin summa min nutfatin summaa min 'alaqatin summa mim mud ghatim mukhal laqatinw wa ghairi mukhalla qatil linubaiyina lakum; wa nuqirru fil arhaami maa nashaaa'u ilaaa ajalim musam man summa nukhrijukum tiflan summa litablughooo ashud dakum wa minkum mai yutawaffa wa minkum mai yuraddu ilaaa arzalil 'umuri likailaa ya'lama mim ba'di 'ilmin shai'aa; wa taral arda haamidatan fa izaaa anzalnaa 'alaihal maaa'ah tazzat wa rabat wa ambatat min kulli zawjim baheej

O people, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed – that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind.

Tafsir

ذَٰلِكَ
That
بِأَنَّ
(is) because
ٱللَّهَ
Allah -
هُوَ
He
ٱلْحَقُّ
(is) the Truth
وَأَنَّهُۥ
And that He
يُحْىِ
[He] gives life
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
(to) the dead
وَأَنَّهُۥ
and that He
عَلَىٰ
(is) over
كُلِّ
every
شَىْءٍ
thing
قَدِيرٌ
All-Powerful

Zaalika bi annal laaha Huwal haqqu wa annahoo yuhyil mawtaa wa annahoo 'alaakulli shai'in Qadeer

That is because Allah is the True Reality and because He gives life to the dead and because He is over all things competent

Tafsir

وَأَنَّ
And that
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
the Hour
ءَاتِيَةٌ
will come
لَّا
(there is) no
رَيْبَ
doubt
فِيهَا
about it
وَأَنَّ
and that
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يَبْعَثُ
will resurrect
مَن
(those) who
فِى
(are) in
ٱلْقُبُورِ
the graves

Wa annas Saa'ata aatiya tul laa raiba feeha wa annal laaha yab'asuman fil quboor

And [that they may know] that the Hour is coming – no doubt about it – and that Allah will resurrect those in the graves.

Tafsir

وَمِنَ
And among
ٱلنَّاسِ
mankind
مَن
(is he) who
يُجَٰدِلُ
disputes
فِى
concerning
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
بِغَيْرِ
without
عِلْمٍ
any knowledge
وَلَا
and not
هُدًى
any guidance
وَلَا
and not
كِتَٰبٍ
a Book
مُّنِيرٍ
enlightening

Wa minan naasi mai yujaadilu fil laahi bighairi 'ilminw wa laa hudanw wa laa Kitaabim Muneer

And of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening book [from Him],

Tafsir

ثَانِىَ
Twisting
عِطْفِهِۦ
his neck
لِيُضِلَّ
to mislead
عَن
from
سَبِيلِ
(the) way
ٱللَّهِۖ
(of) Allah
لَهُۥ
For him
فِى
in
ٱلدُّنْيَا
the world
خِزْىٌۖ
(is) disgrace
وَنُذِيقُهُۥ
and We will make him taste
يَوْمَ
(on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
(of) Resurrection
عَذَابَ
(the) punishment
ٱلْحَرِيقِ
(of) the Burning Fire

Saaniya 'itfihee liyudilla 'an sabeelil laahi lahoo fiddun yaa khizyunw wa nuzeequhoo Yawmal Qiyaamati 'azaabal lhareeq

Twisting his neck [in arrogance] to mislead [people] from the way of Allah. For him in the world is disgrace, and We will make him taste on the Day of Resurrection the punishment of the Burning Fire [while it is said],

Tafsir

ذَٰلِكَ
That
بِمَا
(is) for what
قَدَّمَتْ
have sent forth
يَدَاكَ
your hands
وَأَنَّ
and that
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
لَيْسَ
is not
بِظَلَّٰمٍ
unjust
لِّلْعَبِيدِ
to His slaves

Zaalika bimaa qaddamat yadaaka wa annal laaha laisa bizallaamil lil'abeed

"That is for what your hands have put forth and because Allah is not ever unjust to [His] servants."
