وَاِلٰى عَادٍ اَخَاهُمۡ هُوۡدًا ؕ قَالَ يٰقَوۡمِ اعۡبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مَا لَـكُمۡ مِّنۡ اِلٰهٍ غَيۡرُهٗ ؕ اَفَلَا تَتَّقُوۡنَ(الأعراف :65)
Waila 'adin akhahum hoodan qala ya qawmi o'budoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu afala tattaqoona
Sahih International:
And to the 'Aad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said, "O my people, worship Allah ; you have no deity other than Him. Then will you not fear Him?"
قَالَ الۡمَلَاُ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا مِنۡ قَوۡمِهٖۤ اِنَّا لَــنَرٰٮكَ فِىۡ سَفَاهَةٍ وَّاِنَّا لَــنَظُنُّكَ مِنَ الۡـكٰذِبِيۡنَ(الأعراف :66)
Qala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi inna lanaraka fee safahatin wainna lanathunnuka mina alkathibeena
Sahih International:
Said the eminent ones who disbelieved among his people, "Indeed, we see you in foolishness, and indeed, we think you are of the liars."
قَالَ يٰقَوۡمِ لَـيۡسَ بِىۡ سَفَاهَةٌ وَّلٰـكِنِّىۡ رَسُوۡلٌ مِّنۡ رَّبِّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ(الأعراف :67)
Qala ya qawmi laysa bee safahatun walakinnee rasoolun min rabbi al'alameena
Sahih International:
[Hud] said, "O my people, there is not foolishness in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds."
اُبَلِّغُكُمۡ رِسٰلٰتِ رَبِّىۡ وَاَنَا لَـكُمۡ نَاصِحٌ اَمِيۡنٌ(الأعراف :68)
Oballighukum risalati rabbee waana lakum nasihun ameenun
Sahih International:
I convey to you the messages of my Lord, and I am to you a trustworthy adviser.
اَوَعَجِبۡتُمۡ اَنۡ جَآءَكُمۡ ذِكۡرٌ مِّنۡ رَّبِّكُمۡ عَلٰى رَجُلٍ مِّنۡكُمۡ لِيُنۡذِرَكُمۡ ؕ وَاذۡكُرُوۡۤا اِذۡ جَعَلَـكُمۡ ۚ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ قَوۡمِ نُوۡحٍ وَّزَادَكُمۡ فِى الۡخَـلۡقِ بَصۜۡطَةً فَاذۡكُرُوۡۤا اٰ لَۤاءَ اللّٰهِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُفۡلِحُوۡنَ(الأعراف :69)
Awa'ajibtum an jaakum thikrun min rabbikum 'ala rajulin minkum liyunthirakum waothkuroo ith ja'alakum khulafaa min ba'di qawmi noohin wazadakum fee alkhalqi bastatan faothkuroo alaa Allahi la'allakum tuflihoona
Sahih International:
Then do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among you, that he may warn you? And remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah and increased you in stature extensively. So remember the favors of Allah that you might succeed.
قَالُـوۡۤا اَجِئۡتَنَا لِنَعۡبُدَ اللّٰهَ وَحۡدَهٗ وَنَذَرَ مَا كَانَ يَعۡبُدُ اٰبَآؤُنَا ۚ فَاۡتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَاۤ اِنۡ كُنۡتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِيۡنَ(الأعراف :70)
Qaloo ajitana lina'buda Allaha wahdahu wanathara ma kana ya'budu abaona fatina bima ta'iduna in kunta mina alssadiqeena
Sahih International:
They said, "Have you come to us that we should worship Allah alone and leave what our fathers have worshipped? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful."
قَالَ قَدۡ وَقَعَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ مِّنۡ رَّبِّكُمۡ رِجۡسٌ وَّغَضَبٌؕ اَتُجَادِلُوۡنَنِىۡ فِىۡۤ اَسۡمَآءٍ سَمَّيۡتُمُوۡهَاۤ اَنۡـتُمۡ وَاٰبَآؤُكُمۡ مَّا نَزَّلَ اللّٰهُ بِهَا مِنۡ سُلۡطٰنٍؕ فَانْتَظِرُوۡۤا اِنِّىۡ مَعَكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡمُنۡتَظِرِيۡنَ(الأعراف :71)
Qala qad waqa'a 'alaykum min rabbikum rijsun waghadabun atujadiloonanee fee asmain sammaytumooha antum waabaokum ma nazzala Allahu biha min sultanin faintathiroo innee ma'akum mina almuntathireena
Sahih International:
[Hud] said, "Already have defilement and anger fallen upon you from your Lord. Do you dispute with me concerning [mere] names you have named them, you and your fathers, for which Allah has not sent down any authority? Then wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait."
فَاَنۡجَيۡنٰهُ وَالَّذِيۡنَ مَعَهٗ بِرَحۡمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَ قَطَعۡنَا دَابِرَ الَّذِيۡنَ كَذَّبُوۡا بِاٰيٰتِنَا وَمَا كَانُوۡا مُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ(الأعراف :72)
Faanjaynahu waallatheena ma'ahu birahmatin minna waqata'na dabira allatheena kaththaboo biayatina wama kanoo mumineena
Sahih International:
So We saved him and those with him by mercy from Us. And We eliminated those who denied Our signs, and they were not [at all] believers.
وَاِلٰى عَادٍ اَخَاهُمۡ هُوۡدًا ؕ قَالَ يٰقَوۡمِ اعۡبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مَا لَـكُمۡ مِّنۡ اِلٰهٍ غَيۡرُهٗ ؕ اِنۡ اَنۡتُمۡ اِلَّا مُفۡتَرُوۡنَ(هود :50)
Waila 'adin akhahum hoodan qala ya qawmi o'budoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu in antum illa muftaroona
Sahih International:
And to 'Aad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said, "O my people, worship Allah ; you have no deity other than Him. You are not but inventors [of falsehood].
يٰقَوۡمِ لَاۤ اَسۡـــَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ اَجۡرًا ؕ اِنۡ اَجۡرِىَ اِلَّا عَلَى الَّذِىۡ فَطَرَنِىۡ ؕ اَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُوۡنَ(هود :51)
Ya qawmi la asalukum 'alayhi ajran in ajriya illa 'ala allathee fataranee afala ta'qiloona
Sahih International:
O my people, I do not ask you for it any reward. My reward is only from the one who created me. Then will you not reason?
