وَاِذۡ اَخَذۡنَا مِيۡثَاقَكُمۡ وَرَفَعۡنَا فَوۡقَكُمُ الطُّوۡرَؕ خُذُوۡا مَآ اٰتَيۡنٰكُمۡ بِقُوَّةٍ وَّ اذۡكُرُوۡا مَا فِيۡهِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُوۡنَ(البقرة :63)
Waith akhathna meethaqakum warafa'na fawqakumu alttoora khuthoo ma ataynakum biquwwatin waothkuroo ma feehi la'allakum tattaqoona
Sahih International:
And [recall] when We took your covenant, [O Children of Israel, to abide by the Torah] and We raised over you the mount, [saying], "Take what We have given you with determination and remember what is in it that perhaps you may become righteous."
وَاِذۡ اَخَذۡنَا مِيۡثَاقَكُمۡ وَرَفَعۡنَا فَوۡقَکُمُ الطُّوۡرَ ؕ خُذُوۡا مَآ اٰتَيۡنٰکُمۡ بِقُوَّةٍ وَّاسۡمَعُوۡا ؕ قَالُوۡا سَمِعۡنَا وَعَصَيۡنَا وَاُشۡرِبُوۡا فِىۡ قُلُوۡبِهِمُ الۡعِجۡلَ بِکُفۡرِهِمۡ ؕ قُلۡ بِئۡسَمَا يَاۡمُرُکُمۡ بِهٖۤ اِيۡمَانُكُمۡ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ مُّؤۡمِنِيۡنَ(البقرة :93)
Waith akhathna meethaqakum warafa'na fawqakumu alttoora khuthoo ma ataynakum biquwwatin waisma'oo qaloo sami'na wa'asayna waoshriboo fee quloobihimu al'ijla bikufrihim qul bisama yamurukum bihi eemanukum in kuntum mumineena
Sahih International:
And [recall] when We took your covenant and raised over you the mount, [saying], "Take what We have given you with determination and listen." They said [instead], "We hear and disobey." And their hearts absorbed [the worship of] the calf because of their disbelief. Say, "How wretched is that which your faith enjoins upon you, if you should be believers."
وَرَفَعۡنَا فَوۡقَهُمُ الطُّوۡرَ بِمِيۡثَاقِهِمۡ وَقُلۡنَا لَهُمُ ادۡخُلُوا الۡبَابَ سُجَّدًا وَّقُلۡنَا لَهُمۡ لَا تَعۡدُوۡا فِى السَّبۡتِ وَاَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡ مِّيۡثَاقًا غَلِيۡظًا(النساء :154)
Warafa'na fawqahumu alttoora bimeethaqihim waqulna lahumu odkhuloo albaba sujjadan waqulna lahum la ta'doo fee alssabti waakhathna minhum meethaqan ghaleethan
Sahih International:
And We raised over them the mount for [refusal of] their covenant; and We said to them, "Enter the gate bowing humbly", and We said to them, "Do not transgress on the sabbath", and We took from them a solemn covenant.
وَاِذَا تُتۡلٰى عَلَيۡهِمۡ اٰيٰتُنَا قَالُوۡا قَدۡ سَمِعۡنَا لَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَـقُلۡنَا مِثۡلَ هٰذَٓا ۙ اِنۡ هٰذَاۤ اِلَّاۤ اَسَاطِيۡرُ الۡاَوَّلِيۡنَ(الأنفال :31)
Waitha tutla 'alayhim ayatuna qaloo qad sami'na law nashao laqulna mithla hatha in hatha illa asateeru alawwaleena
Sahih International:
And when Our verses are recited to them, they say, "We have heard. If we willed, we could say [something] like this. This is not but legends of the former peoples."
وَقِيۡلَ يٰۤاَرۡضُ ابۡلَعِىۡ مَآءَكِ وَيٰسَمَآءُ اَقۡلِعِىۡ وَغِيۡضَ الۡمَآءُ وَقُضِىَ الۡاَمۡرُ وَاسۡتَوَتۡ عَلَى الۡجُوۡدِىِّ وَقِيۡلَ بُعۡدًا لِّـلۡقَوۡمِ الظّٰلِمِيۡنَ(هود :44)
Waqeela ya ardu ibla'ee maaki waya samao aqli'ee wagheeda almao waqudiya alamru waistawat 'ala aljoodiyyi waqeela bu'dan lilqawmi alththalimeena
Sahih International:
And it was said, "O earth, swallow your water, and O sky, withhold [your rain]." And the water subsided, and the matter was accomplished, and the ship came to rest on the [mountain of] Judiyy. And it was said, "Away with the wrongdoing people."
وَالۡاَرۡضَ مَدَدۡنٰهَا وَاَلۡقَيۡنَا فِيۡهَا رَوَاسِىَ وَاَنۡۢبَتۡنَا فِيۡهَا مِنۡ كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ مَّوۡزُوۡنٍ(الحجر :19)
Waalarda madadnaha waalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatna feeha min kulli shayin mawzoonin
Sahih International:
And the earth - We have spread it and cast therein firmly set mountains and caused to grow therein [something] of every well-balanced thing.
وَاَلۡقٰى فِى الۡاَرۡضِ رَوَاسِىَ اَنۡ تَمِيۡدَ بِكُمۡ وَاَنۡهٰرًا وَّسُبُلًا لَّعَلَّكُمۡ تَهۡتَدُوۡنَۙ(النحل :15)
Waalqa fee alardi rawasiya an tameeda bikum waanharan wasubulan la'allakum tahtadoona
Sahih International:
And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided,
وَاِذَا قِيۡلَ لَهُمۡ مَّاذَاۤ اَنۡزَلَ رَبُّكُمۡۙ قَالُـوۡۤا اَسَاطِيۡرُ الۡاَوَّلِيۡنَۙ(النحل :24)
Waitha qeela lahum matha anzala rabbukum qaloo asateeru alawwaleena
Sahih International:
And when it is said to them, "What has your Lord sent down?" They say, "Legends of the former peoples,"
وَاللّٰهُ جَعَلَ لَـكُمۡ مِّمَّا خَلَقَ ظِلٰلًا وَّجَعَلَ لَـكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡجِبَالِ اَكۡنَانًا وَّجَعَلَ لَـكُمۡ سَرَابِيۡلَ تَقِيۡكُمُ الۡحَـرَّ وَسَرَابِيۡلَ تَقِيۡكُمۡ بَاۡسَكُمۡؕ كَذٰلِكَ يُتِمُّ نِعۡمَتَهٗ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُسۡلِمُوۡنَ(النحل :81)
WaAllahu ja'ala lakum mimma khalaqa thilalan waja'ala lakum mina aljibali aknanan waja'ala lakum sarabeela taqeekumu alharra wasarabeela taqeekum basakum kathalika yutimmu ni'matahu 'alaykum la'allakum tuslimoona
Sahih International:
And Allah has made for you, from that which He has created, shadows and has made for you from the mountains, shelters and has made for you garments which protect you from the heat and garments which protect you from your [enemy in] battle. Thus does He complete His favor upon you that you might submit [to Him].
وَلَا تَمۡشِ فِى الۡاَرۡضِ مَرَحًا ۚ اِنَّكَ لَنۡ تَخۡرِقَ الۡاَرۡضَ وَلَنۡ تَبۡلُغَ الۡجِبَالَ طُوۡلًا(الإسراء :37)
Wala tamshi fee alardi marahan innaka lan takhriqa alarda walan tablugha aljibala toolan
Sahih International:
And do not walk upon the earth exultantly. Indeed, you will never tear the earth [apart], and you will never reach the mountains in height.
