وَاِذَا لَقُوۡا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا قَالُوۡاۤ اٰمَنَّا ۖۚ وَاِذَا خَلَوۡا اِلٰى شَيٰطِيۡنِهِمۡۙ قَالُوۡاۤ اِنَّا مَعَكُمۡۙ اِنَّمَا نَحۡنُ مُسۡتَهۡزِءُوۡنَ(البقرة :14)
Waitha laqoo allatheena amanoo qaloo amanna waitha khalaw ila shayateenihim qaloo inna ma'akum innama nahnu mustahzioona
Sahih International:
And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We believe"; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, "Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers."
اَللّٰهُ يَسۡتَهۡزِئُ بِهِمۡ وَيَمُدُّهُمۡ فِىۡ طُغۡيَانِهِمۡ يَعۡمَهُوۡنَ(البقرة :15)
Allahu yastahzio bihim wayamudduhum fee tughyanihim ya'mahoona
Sahih International:
[But] Allah mocks them and prolongs them in their transgression [while] they wander blindly.
وَاِذَا طَلَّقۡتُمُ النِّسَآءَ فَبَلَغۡنَ اَجَلَهُنَّ فَاَمۡسِكُوۡهُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوۡفٍ اَوۡ سَرِّحُوۡهُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوۡفٍ ۖ وَلَا تُمۡسِكُوۡهُنَّ ضِرَارًا لِّتَعۡتَدُوۡا ۚ وَمَنۡ يَّفۡعَلۡ ذٰ لِكَ فَقَدۡ ظَلَمَ نَفۡسَهٗ ؕ وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوۡٓا اٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ هُزُوًا وَّاذۡكُرُوۡا نِعۡمَتَ اللّٰهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَمَآ اَنۡزَلَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡكِتٰبِ وَالۡحِكۡمَةِ يَعِظُكُمۡ بِهٖؕ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاعۡلَمُوۡٓا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ بِكُلِّ شَىۡءٍ عَلِيۡمٌ(البقرة :231)
Waitha tallaqtumu alnnisaa fabalaghna ajalahunna faamsikoohunna bima'roofin aw sarrihoohunna bima'roofin wala tumsikoohunna diraran lita'tadoo waman yaf'al thalika faqad thalama nafsahu wala tattakhithoo ayati Allahi huzuwan waothkuroo ni'mata Allahi 'alaykum wama anzala 'alaykum mina alkitabi waalhikmati ya'ithukum bihi waittaqoo Allaha wai'lamoo anna Allaha bikulli shayin 'aleemun
Sahih International:
And when you divorce women and they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or release them according to acceptable terms, and do not keep them, intending harm, to transgress [against them]. And whoever does that has certainly wronged himself. And do not take the verses of Allah in jest. And remember the favor of Allah upon you and what has been revealed to you of the Book and wisdom by which He instructs you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is Knowing of all things.
وَاِذۡ قَالَ مُوۡسٰى لِقَوۡمِهٖۤ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَاۡمُرُكُمۡ اَنۡ تَذۡبَحُوۡا بَقَرَةً ؕ قَالُوۡآ اَتَتَّخِذُنَا هُزُوًۡا ؕ قَالَ اَعُوۡذُ بِاللّٰهِ اَنۡ اَكُوۡنَ مِنَ الۡجٰـهِلِيۡنَ(البقرة :67)
Waith qala moosa liqawmihi inna Allaha yamurukum an tathbahoo baqaratan qaloo atattakhithuna huzuwan qala a'oothu biAllahi an akoona mina aljahileena
Sahih International:
And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "Indeed, Allah commands you to slaughter a cow." They said, "Do you take us in ridicule?" He said, "I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant."
وَقَدۡ نَزَّلَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فِى الۡـكِتٰبِ اَنۡ اِذَا سَمِعۡتُمۡ اٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ يُكۡفَرُ بِهَا وَيُسۡتَهۡزَاُبِهَا فَلَا تَقۡعُدُوۡا مَعَهُمۡ حَتّٰى يَخُوۡضُوۡا فِىۡ حَدِيۡثٍ غَيۡرِهٖۤ ۖ اِنَّكُمۡ اِذًا مِّثۡلُهُمۡؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ جَامِعُالۡمُنٰفِقِيۡنَ وَالۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ فِىۡ جَهَـنَّمَ جَمِيۡعَا(النساء :140)
Waqad nazzala 'alaykum fee alkitabi an itha sami'tum ayati Allahi yukfaru biha wayustahzao biha fala taq'udoo ma'ahum hatta yakhoodoo fee hadeethin ghayrihi innakum ithan mithluhum inna Allaha jami'u almunafiqeena waalkafireena fee jahannama jamee'an
Sahih International:
And it has already come down to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allah [recited], they are denied [by them] and ridiculed; so do not sit with them until they enter into another conversation. Indeed, you would then be like them. Indeed Allah will gather the hypocrites and disbelievers in Hell all together -
يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا لَا تَـتَّخِذُوا الَّذِيۡنَ اتَّخَذُوۡا دِيۡنَكُمۡ هُزُوًا وَّلَعِبًا مِّنَ الَّذِيۡنَ اُوۡتُوا الۡكِتٰبَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِكُمۡ وَالۡـكُفَّارَ اَوۡلِيَآءَ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ مُّؤۡمِنِيۡنَ(المائدة :57)
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattakhithoo allatheena ittakhathoo deenakum huzuwan wala'iban mina allatheena ootoo alkitaba min qablikum waalkuffara awliyaa waittaqoo Allaha in kuntum mumineena
Sahih International:
O you who have believed, take not those who have taken your religion in ridicule and amusement among the ones who were given the Scripture before you nor the disbelievers as allies. And fear Allah, if you should [truly] be believers.
وَ اِذَا نَادَيۡتُمۡ اِلَى الصَّلٰوةِ اتَّخَذُوۡهَا هُزُوًا وَّلَعِبًا ؕ ذٰ لِكَ بِاَنَّهُمۡ قَوۡمٌ لَّا يَعۡقِلُوۡنَ(المائدة :58)
Waitha nadaytum ila alssalati ittakhathooha huzuwan wala'iban thalika biannahum qawmun la ya'qiloona
Sahih International:
And when you call to prayer, they take it in ridicule and amusement. That is because they are a people who do not use reason.
وَلَـقَدِ اسۡتُهۡزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِالَّذِيۡنَ سَخِرُوۡا مِنۡهُمۡ مَّا كَانُوۡا بِهٖ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُوۡنَ(الأنعام :10)
Walaqadi istuhzia birusulin min qablika fahaqa biallatheena sakhiroo minhum ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona
Sahih International:
And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by that which they used to ridicule.
فَقَدۡ كَذَّبُوۡا بِالۡحَـقِّ لَـمَّا جَآءَهُمۡؕ فَسَوۡفَ يَاۡتِيۡهِمۡ اَنۢۡـبٰٓـؤُا مَا كَانُوۡا بِهٖ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُوۡنَ(الأنعام :5)
Faqad kaththaboo bialhaqqi lamma jaahum fasawfa yateehim anbao ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona
Sahih International:
For they had denied the truth when it came to them, but there is going to reach them the news of what they used to ridicule.
وَاِذَا رَاَيۡتَ الَّذِيۡنَ يَخُوۡضُوۡنَ فِىۡۤ اٰيٰتِنَا فَاَعۡرِضۡ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتّٰى يَخُوۡضُوۡا فِىۡ حَدِيۡثٍ غَيۡرِهٖ ؕ وَاِمَّا يُنۡسِيَنَّكَ الشَّيۡطٰنُ فَلَا تَقۡعُدۡ بَعۡدَ الذِّكۡرٰى مَعَ الۡقَوۡمِ الظّٰلِمِيۡنَ(الأنعام :68)
Waitha raayta allatheena yakhoodoona fee ayatina faa'rid 'anhum hatta yakhoodoo fee hadeethin ghayrihi waimma yunsiyannaka alshshaytanu fala taq'ud ba'da alththikra ma'a alqawmi alththalimeena
Sahih International:
And when you see those who engage in [offensive] discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them until they enter into another conversion. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the reminder with the wrongdoing people.
