قَالُوْا رَبَّنَا مَنْ قَدَّمَ لَنَا هٰذَا فَزِدْهُ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا فِى النَّارِ  ( ص: ٦١ )

qālū
قَالُوا۟
They will say
rabbanā
رَبَّنَا
"Our Lord
man
مَن
whoever
qaddama
قَدَّمَ
brought
lanā
لَنَا
upon us
hādhā
هَٰذَا
this;
fazid'hu
فَزِدْهُ
increase for him
ʿadhāban
عَذَابًا
a punishment
ḍiʿ'fan
ضِعْفًا
double
فِى
in
l-nāri
ٱلنَّارِ
the Fire"

They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us – increase for him double punishment in the Fire."

Tafsir

وَقَالُوْا مَا لَنَا لَا نَرٰى رِجَالًا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُمْ مِّنَ الْاَشْرَارِ  ( ص: ٦٢ )

وَقَالُوا۟
And they will say
مَا
"What (is)
lanā
لَنَا
for us
لَا
not
narā
نَرَىٰ
we see
rijālan
رِجَالًا
men
kunnā
كُنَّا
we used (to)
naʿudduhum
نَعُدُّهُم
count them
mina
مِّنَ
among
l-ashrāri
ٱلْأَشْرَارِ
the bad ones?

And they will say, "Why do we not see men whom we used to count among the worst?

Tafsir

اَتَّخَذْنٰهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا اَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ الْاَبْصَارُ  ( ص: ٦٣ )

attakhadhnāhum
أَتَّخَذْنَٰهُمْ
Did we take them
sikh'riyyan
سِخْرِيًّا
(in) ridicule
am
أَمْ
or
zāghat
زَاغَتْ
has turned away
ʿanhumu
عَنْهُمُ
from them
l-abṣāru
ٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ
the vision?"

Is it [because] we took them in ridicule, or has [our] vision turned away from them?"

Tafsir

اِنَّ ذٰلِكَ لَحَقٌّ تَخَاصُمُ اَهْلِ النَّارِ ࣖ  ( ص: ٦٤ )

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
that
laḥaqqun
لَحَقٌّ
(is) surely (the) truth -
takhāṣumu
تَخَاصُمُ
(the) quarreling
ahli
أَهْلِ
(of the) people
l-nāri
ٱلنَّارِ
(of) the Fire

Indeed, that is truth [i.e., reality] – the quarreling of the people of the Fire.

Tafsir

قُلْ اِنَّمَآ اَنَا۠ مُنْذِرٌ ۖوَّمَا مِنْ اِلٰهٍ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ  ( ص: ٦٥ )

مُنذِرٌۖ
a warner
wamā
وَمَا
and not
min
مِنْ
(is there) any
ilāhin
إِلَٰهٍ
god
illā
إِلَّا
except
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
l-wāḥidu
ٱلْوَٰحِدُ
the One
l-qahāru
ٱلْقَهَّارُ
the Irresistible

Say, [O Muhammad], "I am only a warner, and there is not any deity except Allah, the One, the Prevailing,

Tafsir

رَبُّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الْعَزِيْزُ الْغَفَّارُ  ( ص: ٦٦ )

Lord
l-samāwāti
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
(of) the heavens
wal-arḍi
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the earth
wamā
وَمَا
and whatever
baynahumā
بَيْنَهُمَا
(is) between them
l-ʿazīzu
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
the All-Mighty
l-ghafāru
ٱلْغَفَّٰرُ
the Oft-Forgiving"

Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver."

Tafsir

قُلْ هُوَ نَبَؤٌا عَظِيْمٌۙ  ( ص: ٦٧ )

"It (is)

نَبَؤٌا۟
a news
ʿaẓīmun
عَظِيمٌ
great

Say, "It is great news

Tafsir

اَنْتُمْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضُوْنَ  ( ص: ٦٨ )

antum
أَنتُمْ
You
ʿanhu
عَنْهُ
from it
muʿ'riḍūna
مُعْرِضُونَ
turn away

From which you turn away.

Tafsir

مَا كَانَ لِيَ مِنْ عِلْمٍۢ بِالْمَلَاِ الْاَعْلٰٓى اِذْ يَخْتَصِمُوْنَ  ( ص: ٦٩ )

لِىَ
for me

ʿil'min
عِلْمٍۭ
knowledge
bil-mala-i
بِٱلْمَلَإِ
(of) the chiefs
l-aʿlā
ٱلْأَعْلَىٰٓ
the exalted
idh
إِذْ
when
yakhtaṣimūna
يَخْتَصِمُونَ
they were disputing

I had no knowledge of the exalted assembly [of angels] when they were disputing [the creation of Adam].

Tafsir

اِنْ يُّوْحٰىٓ اِلَيَّ اِلَّآ اَنَّمَآ اَنَا۠ نَذِيْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ  ( ص: ٧٠ )

يُوحَىٰٓ
has been revealed
ilayya
إِلَىَّ
to me
illā
إِلَّآ
except
annamā
أَنَّمَآ
that only
anā
أَنَا۠
I am
nadhīrun
نَذِيرٌ
a warner
mubīnun
مُّبِينٌ
clear"

It has not been revealed to me except that I am a clear warner."
