وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
فَضَّلَ
has favored
بَعْضَكُمْ
some of you
عَلَىٰ
over
بَعْضٍ
others
فِى
in
ٱلرِّزْقِۚ
[the] provision
فَمَا
But not
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
فُضِّلُوا۟
were favored
بِرَآدِّى
would hand over
رِزْقِهِمْ
their provision
عَلَىٰ
to
مَا
whom
مَلَكَتْ
possess
أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ
their right hands
فَهُمْ
so (that) they
فِيهِ
(are) in it
سَوَآءٌۚ
equal
أَفَبِنِعْمَةِ
Then is it the Favor
ٱللَّهِ
of Allah
يَجْحَدُونَ
they reject?

Wallaahu faddala ba'dakum 'alaa ba'din fir rizq; famal lazeena fuddiloo biraaaddee rizqihim 'alaa maa malakat aimaanuhum fahum feehi sawaaa'; afabini'matil laahi yajhadoon

And Allah has favored some of you over others in provision. But those who were favored [i.e., given more] would not hand over their provision to those whom their right hands possess [i.e., slaves] so they would be equal to them therein. Then is it the favor of Allah they reject?

Tafsir

وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
جَعَلَ
(has) made
لَكُم
for you
مِّنْ
from
أَنفُسِكُمْ
yourselves
أَزْوَٰجًا
spouses
وَجَعَلَ
and has made
لَكُم
for you
مِّنْ
from
أَزْوَٰجِكُم
your spouses
بَنِينَ
sons
وَحَفَدَةً
and grandsons
وَرَزَقَكُم
and has provided for you
مِّنَ
from
ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِۚ
the good things
أَفَبِٱلْبَٰطِلِ
Then in falsehood do
يُؤْمِنُونَ
they believe
وَبِنِعْمَتِ
and the Favor
ٱللَّهِ
of Allah
هُمْ
they
يَكْفُرُونَ
disbelieve?

Wallaahu ja'ala lakum min anfusikum azwaajanw wa ja'ala lakum min azwaajikum baneena wa hafadatanw wa razaqakum minat yaiyibaat; afabil baatili yu'minoona wa bini'matil laahi hum yakkfuroon

And Allah has made for you from yourselves mates and has made for you from your mates sons and grandchildren and has provided for you from the good things. Then in falsehood do they believe and in the favor of Allah they disbelieve?

Tafsir

وَيَعْبُدُونَ
And they worship
مِن
other than
دُونِ
other than
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
مَا
which
لَا
not
يَمْلِكُ
possesses
لَهُمْ
for them
رِزْقًا
any provision
مِّنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the earth
شَيْـًٔا
[anything]
وَلَا
and not
يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
they are able

Wa ya'budoona min doonil laahi maa laa yamliku lahum rizqam minas samaawaati wal ardi shai'anw wa laa yastatee'oon

And they worship besides Allah that which does not possess for them [the power of] provision from the heavens and the earth at all, and [in fact], they are unable.

Tafsir

فَلَا
So (do) not
تَضْرِبُوا۟
put forth
لِلَّهِ
for Allah
ٱلْأَمْثَالَۚ
the similitude
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يَعْلَمُ
knows
وَأَنتُمْ
and you
لَا
(do) not
تَعْلَمُونَ
know

Falaa tadriboo lillaahil amsaal; innal laaha ya'lamu wa antum laa ta'lamoon

So do not assert similarities to Allah. Indeed, Allah knows and you do not know.

Tafsir

ضَرَبَ
Allah sets forth
ٱللَّهُ
Allah sets forth
مَثَلًا
the example
عَبْدًا
(of) a slave
مَّمْلُوكًا
(who is) owned
لَّا
not
يَقْدِرُ
he has power
عَلَىٰ
on
شَىْءٍ
anything
وَمَن
and (one) whom
رَّزَقْنَٰهُ
We provided him
مِنَّا
from Us
رِزْقًا
a provision
حَسَنًا
good
فَهُوَ
so he
يُنفِقُ
spends
مِنْهُ
from it
سِرًّا
secretly
وَجَهْرًاۖ
and publicly
هَلْ
Can
يَسْتَوُۥنَۚ
they be equal?
ٱلْحَمْدُ
All praise
لِلَّهِۚ
(is) for Allah!
بَلْ
Nay
أَكْثَرُهُمْ
but most of them
لَا
(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَ
know

Darabal laahu masalan 'abdam mammlookal laa yaqdiru 'alaa shai'inw wa marrazaqnaahu mminnaa rizqan hasanan fahuwa yunfiqu minhu sirranw wa jahra; hal yasta-woon; alhamdu lillaah; bal aksaruhum laa ya'lamoon

Allah presents an example: a slave [who is] owned and unable to do a thing and he to whom We have provided from Us good provision, so he spends from it secretly and publicly. Can they be equal? Praise to Allah! But most of them do not know.

Tafsir

وَضَرَبَ
And Allah sets forth
ٱللَّهُ
And Allah sets forth
مَثَلًا
an example
رَّجُلَيْنِ
(of) two men
أَحَدُهُمَآ
one of them
أَبْكَمُ
(is) dumb
لَا
not
يَقْدِرُ
he has power
عَلَىٰ
on
شَىْءٍ
anything
وَهُوَ
while he
كَلٌّ
(is) a burden
عَلَىٰ
on
مَوْلَىٰهُ
his master
أَيْنَمَا
Wherever
يُوَجِّههُّ
he directs him
لَا
not
يَأْتِ
he comes
بِخَيْرٍۖ
with any good
هَلْ
Is
يَسْتَوِى
equal
هُوَ
he
وَمَن
and (the one) who
يَأْمُرُ
commands
بِٱلْعَدْلِۙ
[of] justice
وَهُوَ
and he
عَلَىٰ
(is) on
صِرَٰطٍ
a path
مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
straight?

Wa darabal laahu masalar rajulaini ahaduhumaaa abkamu laa yaqdiru 'alaa shai'inw wa huwa kallun 'alaa mawlaahu ainamaa yuwajjihhu laa yaati bikhairin hal yastawee huwa wa many-yaamuru bil'adli wa huwa 'alaa Siraatim MMustaqeem

And Allah presents an example of two men, one of them dumb and unable to do a thing, while he is a burden to his guardian. Wherever he directs him, he brings no good. Is he equal to one who commands justice, while he is on a straight path?

Tafsir

وَلِلَّهِ
And to Allah (belongs)
غَيْبُ
(the) unseen
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِۚ
and the earth
وَمَآ
And not
أَمْرُ
(is the) matter
ٱلسَّاعَةِ
(of) the Hour
إِلَّا
but
كَلَمْحِ
as a twinkling
ٱلْبَصَرِ
(of) the eye
أَوْ
or
هُوَ
it
أَقْرَبُۚ
(is) nearer
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
عَلَىٰ
on
كُلِّ
every
شَىْءٍ
thing
قَدِيرٌ
(is) All-Powerful

Wa lillaahi ghaibus samaawaati wal ard; wa maaa amrus Saa'ati illaa kalamhil basari aw huwa aqrab; innal laaha 'alaaa kulli shai'in Qadeer

And to Allah belongs the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth. And the command for the Hour is not but as a glance of the eye or even nearer. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.

Tafsir

وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
أَخْرَجَكُم
brought you forth
مِّنۢ
from
بُطُونِ
the wombs
أُمَّهَٰتِكُمْ
(of) your mothers
لَا
not
تَعْلَمُونَ
knowing
شَيْـًٔا
anything
وَجَعَلَ
and made
لَكُمُ
for you
ٱلسَّمْعَ
the hearing
وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ
and the sight
وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَۙ
and the hearts
لَعَلَّكُمْ
so that you may
تَشْكُرُونَ
give thanks

Wallaahu akhrajakum mim butooni ummahaatikum laa ta'lamoona shai'anw wa ja'ala lakumus sam'a wal absaara wal af'idata la'allakum tashkuroon

And Allah has extracted you from the wombs of your mothers not knowing a thing, and He made for you hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect] that perhaps you would be grateful.

Tafsir

أَلَمْ
Do not
يَرَوْا۟
they see
إِلَى
towards
ٱلطَّيْرِ
the birds
مُسَخَّرَٰتٍ
controlled
فِى
in
جَوِّ
the midst
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
(of) the sky?
مَا
None
يُمْسِكُهُنَّ
holds them up
إِلَّا
except
ٱللَّهُۗ
Allah
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
that
لَءَايَٰتٍ
(are) Signs
لِّقَوْمٍ
for a people
يُؤْمِنُونَ
who believe

Alam yaraw ilat tairi musakhkharaatin fee jawwis samaaa'i maa yumsikuhunna illal laah; inna fee zaalika la Aayaatil liqawminy yu'minoon

Do they not see the birds controlled in the atmosphere of the sky? None holds them up except Allah. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.

Tafsir

وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
جَعَلَ
(has) made
لَكُم
for you
مِّنۢ
[from]
بُيُوتِكُمْ
your homes
سَكَنًا
a resting place
وَجَعَلَ
and made
لَكُم
for you
مِّن
from
جُلُودِ
the hides
ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ
(of) the cattle
بُيُوتًا
tents
تَسْتَخِفُّونَهَا
which you find light
يَوْمَ
(on) the day
ظَعْنِكُمْ
(of) your travel
وَيَوْمَ
and the day
إِقَامَتِكُمْۙ
(of) your encampment;
وَمِنْ
and from
أَصْوَافِهَا
their wool
وَأَوْبَارِهَا
and their fur
وَأَشْعَارِهَآ
and their hair
أَثَٰثًا
(is) furnishing
وَمَتَٰعًا
and a provision
إِلَىٰ
for
حِينٍ
a time

Wallaahu ja'ala lakum min juloodil an'aami buyootan tastakhif foonahaa yawma za'nikum wa yawma iqaamatikum wa min aswaafihaa wa awbaarihaa wa ash'aarihaaa asaasanw wa mataa'an ilaa been

And Allah has made for you from your homes a place of rest and made for you from the hides of the animals tents which you find light on your day of travel and your day of encampment; and from their wool, fur and hair is furnishing and enjoyment [i.e., provision] for a time.
