قُلْ مَنْ يَّرْزُقُكُمْ مِّنَ السَّمَاۤءِ وَالْاَرْضِ اَمَّنْ يَّمْلِكُ السَّمْعَ وَالْاَبْصَارَ وَمَنْ يُّخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَيُخْرِجُ الْمَيِّتَ مِنَ الْحَيِّ وَمَنْ يُّدَبِّرُ الْاَمْرَۗ فَسَيَقُوْلُوْنَ اللّٰهُ ۚفَقُلْ اَفَلَا تَتَّقُوْنَ   ( يونس: ٣١ )

Say
man
مَن
"Who
yarzuqukum
يَرْزُقُكُم
provides for you
mina
مِّنَ
from
l-samāi
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
wal-arḍi
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the earth?
amman
أَمَّن
Or who
yamliku
يَمْلِكُ
controls
l-samʿa
ٱلسَّمْعَ
the hearing
wal-abṣāra
وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ
and the sight?
waman
وَمَن
And who
yukh'riju
يُخْرِجُ
brings out
l-ḥaya
ٱلْحَىَّ
the living
mina
مِنَ
from
l-mayiti
ٱلْمَيِّتِ
the dead
wayukh'riju
وَيُخْرِجُ
and brings forth
l-mayita
ٱلْمَيِّتَ
the dead
mina
مِنَ
from
l-ḥayi
ٱلْحَىِّ
the living?
waman
وَمَن
And who
yudabbiru
يُدَبِّرُ
disposes
l-amra
ٱلْأَمْرَۚ
the affairs?"
fasayaqūlūna
فَسَيَقُولُونَ
Then they will say
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُۚ
"Allah"
faqul
فَقُلْ
Then say
afalā
أَفَلَا
"Then will not
tattaqūna
تَتَّقُونَ
you fear (Him)?"

Say, "Who provides for you from the heaven and the earth? Or who controls hearing and sight and who brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living and who arranges [every] matter?" They will say, "Allah," so say, "Then will you not fear Him?"

Tafsir

فَذٰلِكُمُ اللّٰهُ رَبُّكُمُ الْحَقُّۚ فَمَاذَا بَعْدَ الْحَقِّ اِلَّا الضَّلٰلُ ۖفَاَنّٰى تُصْرَفُوْنَ   ( يونس: ٣٢ )

fadhālikumu
فَذَٰلِكُمُ
For that
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
(is) Allah
rabbukumu
رَبُّكُمُ
your Lord
l-ḥaqu
ٱلْحَقُّۖ
the true
famādhā
فَمَاذَا
So what (can be)
baʿda
بَعْدَ
after
l-ḥaqi
ٱلْحَقِّ
the truth
illā
إِلَّا
except
l-ḍalālu
ٱلضَّلَٰلُۖ
the error?
fa-annā
فَأَنَّىٰ
So how
tuṣ'rafūna
تُصْرَفُونَ
(are) you turned away

For that is Allah, your Lord, the Truth. And what can be beyond truth except error? So how are you averted?

Tafsir

كَذٰلِكَ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ عَلَى الَّذِيْنَ فَسَقُوْٓا اَنَّهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ   ( يونس: ٣٣ )

Thus
ḥaqqat
حَقَّتْ
(is) proved true
kalimatu
كَلِمَتُ
(the) Word
rabbika
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
ʿalā
عَلَى
upon
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
fasaqū
فَسَقُوٓا۟
defiantly disobeyed
annahum
أَنَّهُمْ
that they
لَا
(will) not
yu'minūna
يُؤْمِنُونَ
believe

Thus the word [i.e., decree] of your Lord has come into effect upon those who defiantly disobeyed – that they will not believe.

Tafsir

قُلْ هَلْ مِنْ شُرَكَاۤىِٕكُمْ مَّنْ يَّبْدَؤُا الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيْدُهٗۗ قُلِ اللّٰهُ يَبْدَؤُا الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيْدُهٗ فَاَنّٰى تُؤْفَكُوْنَ   ( يونس: ٣٤ )

ٱلْخَلْقَ

يُعِيدُهُۥۚ
repeats it?"
quli
قُلِ
Say
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
"Allah
yabda-u
يَبْدَؤُا۟
originates
l-khalqa
ٱلْخَلْقَ
the creation
thumma
ثُمَّ
then
yuʿīduhu
يُعِيدُهُۥۖ
repeats it
fa-annā
فَأَنَّىٰ
So how
tu'fakūna
تُؤْفَكُونَ
you are deluded?"

Say, "Are there of your 'partners' any who begins creation and then repeats it?" Say, "Allah begins creation and then repeats it, so how are you deluded?"

Tafsir

قُلْ هَلْ مِنْ شُرَكَاۤىِٕكُمْ مَّنْ يَّهْدِيْٓ اِلَى الْحَقِّۗ قُلِ اللّٰهُ يَهْدِيْ لِلْحَقِّۗ اَفَمَنْ يَّهْدِيْٓ اِلَى الْحَقِّ اَحَقُّ اَنْ يُّتَّبَعَ اَمَّنْ لَّا يَهِدِّيْٓ اِلَّآ اَنْ يُّهْدٰىۚ فَمَا لَكُمْۗ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُوْنَ   ( يونس: ٣٥ )

ٱلْحَقِّ
the truth
aḥaqqu
أَحَقُّ
more worthy
an
أَن
that
yuttabaʿa
يُتَّبَعَ
he should be followed
amman
أَمَّن
or (he) who
لَّا
(does) not
yahiddī
يَهِدِّىٓ
guide
illā
إِلَّآ
unless
an
أَن
[that]
yuh'dā
يُهْدَىٰۖ
he is guided?
famā
فَمَا
Then what
lakum
لَكُمْ
(is) for you
kayfa
كَيْفَ
how
taḥkumūna
تَحْكُمُونَ
you judge?"

Say, "Are there of your 'partners' any who guides to the truth?" Say, "Allah guides to the truth. So is He who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed or he who guides not unless he is guided? Then what is [wrong] with you – how do you judge?"

Tafsir

وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ اَكْثَرُهُمْ اِلَّا ظَنًّاۗ اِنَّ الظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِيْ مِنَ الْحَقِّ شَيْـًٔاۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلِيْمٌ ۢبِمَا يَفْعَلُوْنَ   ( يونس: ٣٦ )

يَتَّبِعُ
follow
aktharuhum
أَكْثَرُهُمْ
most of them
illā
إِلَّا
except
ẓannan
ظَنًّاۚ
assumption
inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
l-ẓana
ٱلظَّنَّ
the assumption
لَا
(does) not
yugh'nī
يُغْنِى
avail
mina
مِنَ
against
l-ḥaqi
ٱلْحَقِّ
the truth
shayan
شَيْـًٔاۚ
anything
inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
ʿalīmun
عَلِيمٌۢ
(is) All-Knower
bimā
بِمَا
of what
yafʿalūna
يَفْعَلُونَ
they do

And most of them follow not except assumption. Indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of what they do.

Tafsir

وَمَا كَانَ هٰذَا الْقُرْاٰنُ اَنْ يُّفْتَرٰى مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ وَلٰكِنْ تَصْدِيْقَ الَّذِيْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَتَفْصِيْلَ الْكِتٰبِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيْهِ مِنْ رَّبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَۗ   ( يونس: ٣٧ )

وَمَا
And not

كَانَ

هَٰذَا

ٱلْقُرْءَانُ
the Quran
an
أَن
that
yuf'tarā
يُفْتَرَىٰ
(it could be) produced
min
مِن
by
dūni
دُونِ
other than Allah
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
other than Allah
walākin
وَلَٰكِن
but
taṣdīqa
تَصْدِيقَ
(it is) a confirmation
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
(of that) which
bayna
بَيْنَ
(was) before it
yadayhi
يَدَيْهِ
(was) before it
watafṣīla
وَتَفْصِيلَ
and a detailed explanation
l-kitābi
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
(of) the Book
لَا
(there is) no
rayba
رَيْبَ
doubt
fīhi
فِيهِ
in it
min
مِن
from
rabbi
رَّبِّ
(the) Lord
l-ʿālamīna
ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds

And it was not [possible] for this Quran to be produced by other than Allah, but [it is] a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of the [former] Scripture, about which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds.

Tafsir

اَمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ افْتَرٰىهُ ۗ قُلْ فَأْتُوْا بِسُوْرَةٍ مِّثْلِهٖ وَادْعُوْا مَنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ  ( يونس: ٣٨ )

am

Or
yaqūlūna
يَقُولُونَ
(do) they say
if'tarāhu
ٱفْتَرَىٰهُۖ
"He has invented it?"
qul
قُلْ
Say
fatū
فَأْتُوا۟
"Then bring
bisūratin
بِسُورَةٍ
a Surah
mith'lihi
مِّثْلِهِۦ
like it
wa-id'ʿū
وَٱدْعُوا۟
and call
mani
مَنِ
whoever
is'taṭaʿtum
ٱسْتَطَعْتُم
you can
min
مِّن
besides Allah
dūni
دُونِ
besides Allah
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
besides Allah
in
إِن
if
kuntum
كُنتُمْ
you are
ṣādiqīna
صَٰدِقِينَ
truthful"

Or do they say [about the Prophet (r)], "He invented it?" Say, "Then bring forth a Surah like it and call upon [for assistance] whomever you can besides Allah, if you should be truthful."

Tafsir

بَلْ كَذَّبُوْا بِمَا لَمْ يُحِيْطُوْا بِعِلْمِهٖ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِهِمْ تَأْوِيْلُهٗۗ كَذٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ   ( يونس: ٣٩ )

بِعِلْمِهِۦ
(of) its knowledge

وَلَمَّا

يَأْتِهِمْ
has come (to) them
tawīluhu
تَأْوِيلُهُۥۚ
its interpretation
kadhālika
كَذَٰلِكَ
Thus
kadhaba
كَذَّبَ
denied
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those
min
مِن
before them
qablihim
قَبْلِهِمْۖ
before them
fa-unẓur
فَٱنظُرْ
then see
kayfa
كَيْفَ
how
kāna
كَانَ
was
ʿāqibatu
عَٰقِبَةُ
(the) end
l-ẓālimīna
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
(of) the wrongdoers

Rather, they have denied that which they encompass not in knowledge and whose interpretation has not yet come to them. Thus did those before them deny. Then observe how was the end of the wrongdoers.

Tafsir

وَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ يُّؤْمِنُ بِهٖ وَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ لَّا يُؤْمِنُ بِهٖۗ وَرَبُّكَ اَعْلَمُ بِالْمُفْسِدِيْنَ ࣖ   ( يونس: ٤٠ )

وَمِنْهُم
And of them

(is one) who

يُؤْمِنُ
believes
bihi
بِهِۦ
in it
wamin'hum
وَمِنْهُم
and of them
man
مَّن
(is one) who
لَّا
(does) not
yu'minu
يُؤْمِنُ
believe
bihi
بِهِۦۚ
in it
warabbuka
وَرَبُّكَ
And your Lord
aʿlamu
أَعْلَمُ
(is) All-Knower
bil-muf'sidīna
بِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
of the corrupters

And of them are those who believe in it, and of them are those who do not believe in it. And your Lord is most knowing of the corrupters.

Tafsir
