وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ مَتٰى هٰذَا الْوَعْدُ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ   ( النمل: ٧١ )

wayaqūlūna
وَيَقُولُونَ
And they say
matā
مَتَىٰ
"When
hādhā
هَٰذَا
(will) this
l-waʿdu
ٱلْوَعْدُ
promise (be fulfilled)
in
إِن
if
kuntum
كُنتُمْ
you are
ṣādiqīna
صَٰدِقِينَ
truthful"

And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?"

Tafsir

قُلْ عَسٰٓى اَنْ يَّكُوْنَ رَدِفَ لَكُمْ بَعْضُ الَّذِيْ تَسْتَعْجِلُوْنَ   ( النمل: ٧٢ )

Say
ʿasā
عَسَىٰٓ
"Perhaps
an
أَن
that
yakūna
يَكُونَ
is
radifa
رَدِفَ
close behind
lakum
لَكُم
you
baʿḍu
بَعْضُ
some
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
(of) that which
tastaʿjilūna
تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
you seek to hasten"

Say, "Perhaps it is close behind you [i.e., very near] – some of that for which you are impatient.

Tafsir

وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُوْ فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَشْكُرُوْنَ  ( النمل: ٧٣ )

wa-inna
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
rabbaka
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
ladhū
لَذُو
(is) full of Bounty
faḍlin
فَضْلٍ
(is) full of Bounty
ʿalā
عَلَى
for
l-nāsi
ٱلنَّاسِ
the mankind
walākinna
وَلَٰكِنَّ
but
aktharahum
أَكْثَرَهُمْ
most of them
لَا
(are) not
yashkurūna
يَشْكُرُونَ
grateful

And indeed, your Lord is the possessor of bounty for the people, but most of them are not grateful."

Tafsir

وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُوْرُهُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُوْنَ   ( النمل: ٧٤ )

wa-inna
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
rabbaka
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
layaʿlamu
لَيَعْلَمُ
surely knows
مَا
what
tukinnu
تُكِنُّ
conceals
ṣudūruhum
صُدُورُهُمْ
their breasts
wamā
وَمَا
and what
yuʿ'linūna
يُعْلِنُونَ
they declare

And indeed, your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare.

Tafsir

وَمَا مِنْ غَاۤىِٕبَةٍ فِى السَّمَاۤءِ وَالْاَرْضِ اِلَّا فِيْ كِتٰبٍ مُّبِيْنٍ   ( النمل: ٧٥ )

wamā
وَمَا
And not (is)
min
مِنْ
any (thing)
ghāibatin
غَآئِبَةٍ
hidden
فِى
in
l-samāi
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the heavens
wal-arḍi
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the earth
illā
إِلَّا
but
فِى
(is) in
kitābin
كِتَٰبٍ
a Record
mubīnin
مُّبِينٍ
clear

And there is nothing concealed within the heaven and the earth except that it is in a clear Register.

Tafsir

اِنَّ هٰذَا الْقُرْاٰنَ يَقُصُّ عَلٰى بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ اَكْثَرَ الَّذِيْ هُمْ فِيْهِ يَخْتَلِفُوْنَ   ( النمل: ٧٦ )

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
hādhā
هَٰذَا
this
l-qur'āna
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
[the] Quran
yaquṣṣu
يَقُصُّ
relates
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
to
banī
بَنِىٓ
(the) Children
is'rāīla
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
(of) Israel
akthara
أَكْثَرَ
most
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
(of) that
hum
هُمْ
they
fīhi
فِيهِ
in it
yakhtalifūna
يَخْتَلِفُونَ
differ

Indeed, this Quran relates to the Children of Israel most of that over which they disagree.

Tafsir

وَاِنَّهٗ لَهُدًى وَّرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ   ( النمل: ٧٧ )

wa-innahu
وَإِنَّهُۥ
And indeed it
lahudan
لَهُدًى
(is) surely a guidance
waraḥmatun
وَرَحْمَةٌ
and a mercy
lil'mu'minīna
لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
for the believers

And indeed, it is guidance and mercy for the believers.

Tafsir

اِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِيْ بَيْنَهُمْ بِحُكْمِهٖۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْعَلِيْمُۚ   ( النمل: ٧٨ )

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
rabbaka
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
yaqḍī
يَقْضِى
will judge
baynahum
بَيْنَهُم
between them
biḥuk'mihi
بِحُكْمِهِۦۚ
by His Judgment
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
and He
l-ʿazīzu
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
(is) the All-Mighty
l-ʿalīmu
ٱلْعَلِيمُ
the All-Knower

Indeed, your Lord will judge between them by His [wise] judgement. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.

Tafsir

فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللّٰهِ ۗاِنَّكَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ الْمُبِيْنِ   ( النمل: ٧٩ )

fatawakkal
فَتَوَكَّلْ
So put your trust
ʿalā
عَلَى
in
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِۖ
Allah
innaka
إِنَّكَ
indeed you
ʿalā
عَلَى
(are) on
l-ḥaqi
ٱلْحَقِّ
the truth
l-mubīni
ٱلْمُبِينِ
manifest

So rely upon Allah; indeed, you are upon the clear truth.

Tafsir

اِنَّكَ لَا تُسْمِعُ الْمَوْتٰى وَلَا تُسْمِعُ الصُّمَّ الدُّعَاۤءَ اِذَا وَلَّوْا مُدْبِرِيْنَ   ( النمل: ٨٠ )

innaka
إِنَّكَ
Indeed you
لَا
(can)not
tus'miʿu
تُسْمِعُ
cause to hear
l-mawtā
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
the dead
walā
وَلَا
and not
tus'miʿu
تُسْمِعُ
can you cause to hear
l-ṣuma
ٱلصُّمَّ
the deaf
l-duʿāa
ٱلدُّعَآءَ
the call
idhā
إِذَا
when
wallaw
وَلَّوْا۟
they turn back
mud'birīna
مُدْبِرِينَ
retreating

Indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they have turned their backs retreating.
