Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 253

تِلۡكَ الرُّسُلُ فَضَّلۡنَا بَعۡضَهُمۡ عَلٰى بَعۡضٍ‌ۘ مِنۡهُمۡ مَّنۡ كَلَّمَ اللّٰهُ‌ وَرَفَعَ بَعۡضَهُمۡ دَرَجٰتٍ‌ؕ وَاٰتَيۡنَا عِيۡسَى ابۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ الۡبَيِّنٰتِ وَاَيَّدۡنٰهُ بِرُوۡحِ الۡقُدُسِ‌ؕ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ مَا اقۡتَتَلَ الَّذِيۡنَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَتۡهُمُ الۡبَيِّنٰتُ وَلٰـكِنِ اخۡتَلَفُوۡا فَمِنۡهُمۡ مَّنۡ اٰمَنَ وَمِنۡهُمۡ مَّنۡ كَفَرَ‌ؕ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ مَا اقۡتَتَلُوۡا وَلٰـكِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَفۡعَلُ مَا يُرِيۡدُ(البقرة :253)

تِلْكَ
These
ٱلرُّسُلُ
(are) the Messengers
فَضَّلْنَا
We (have) preferred
بَعْضَهُمْ
some of them
عَلَىٰ
over
بَعْضٍۘ
others
مِّنْهُم
Among them
مَّن
(were those with) whom
كَلَّمَ
spoke
ٱللَّهُۖ
Allah
وَرَفَعَ
and He raised
بَعْضَهُمْ
some of them
دَرَجَٰتٍۚ
(in) degrees
وَءَاتَيْنَا
And We gave
عِيسَى
Isa
ٱبْنَ
son
مَرْيَمَ
(of) Maryam
ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ
the clear proofs
وَأَيَّدْنَٰهُ
and We supported him
بِرُوحِ
with Spirit
ٱلْقُدُسِۗ
[the] Holy
وَلَوْ
And if
شَآءَ
(had) willed
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
مَا
not
ٱقْتَتَلَ
(would have) fought each other
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
مِنۢ
(came) from
بَعْدِهِم
after them
مِّنۢ
from
بَعْدِ
after
مَا
[what]
جَآءَتْهُمُ
came to them
ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ
the clear proofs
وَلَٰكِنِ
[And] but
ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟
they differed
فَمِنْهُم
[so] of them
مَّنْ
(are some) who
ءَامَنَ
believed
وَمِنْهُم
and of them
مَّن
(are some) who
كَفَرَۚ
denied
وَلَوْ
And if
شَآءَ
(had) willed
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
مَا
not
ٱقْتَتَلُوا۟
they (would have) fought each other
وَلَٰكِنَّ
[and] but
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يَفْعَلُ
does
مَا
what
يُرِيدُ
He intends

Tilka alrrusulu faddalna ba'dahum 'ala ba'din minhum man kallama Allahu warafa'a ba'dahum darajatin waatayna 'eesa ibna maryama albayyinati waayyadnahu biroohi alqudusi walaw shaa Allahu ma iqtatala allatheena min ba'dihim min ba'di ma jaathumu albayyinatu walakini ikhtalafoo faminhum man amana waminhum man kafara walaw shaa Allahu ma iqtataloo walakinna Allaha yaf'alu ma yureedu

Sahih International:

Those messengers - some of them We caused to exceed others. Among them were those to whom Allah spoke, and He raised some of them in degree. And We gave Jesus, the Son of Mary, clear proofs, and We supported him with the Pure Spirit. If Allah had willed, those [generations] succeeding them would not have fought each other after the clear proofs had come to them. But they differed, and some of them believed and some of them disbelieved. And if Allah had willed, they would not have fought each other, but Allah does what He intends.

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 285

اٰمَنَ الرَّسُوۡلُ بِمَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ اِلَيۡهِ مِنۡ رَّبِّهٖ وَ الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ‌ؕ كُلٌّ اٰمَنَ بِاللّٰهِ وَمَلٰٓٮِٕكَتِهٖ وَكُتُبِهٖ وَرُسُلِهٖ ۚ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيۡنَ اَحَدٍ مِّنۡ رُّسُلِهٖ‌ ۚ وَقَالُوۡا سَمِعۡنَا وَاَطَعۡنَا‌ ۖ غُفۡرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَاِلَيۡكَ الۡمَصِيۡرُ(البقرة :285)

ءَامَنَ
Believed
ٱلرَّسُولُ
the Messenger
بِمَآ
in what
أُنزِلَ
was revealed
إِلَيْهِ
to him
مِن
from
رَّبِّهِۦ
his Lord
وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَۚ
and the believers
كُلٌّ
All
ءَامَنَ
believed
بِٱللَّهِ
in Allah
وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ
and His Angels
وَكُتُبِهِۦ
and His Books
وَرُسُلِهِۦ
and His Messengers
لَا
"Not
نُفَرِّقُ
we make distinction
بَيْنَ
between
أَحَدٍ
any
مِّن
of
رُّسُلِهِۦۚ
His Messengers
وَقَالُوا۟
And they said
سَمِعْنَا
"We heard
وَأَطَعْنَاۖ
and we obeyed
غُفْرَانَكَ
(Grant) us Your forgiveness
رَبَّنَا
our Lord
وَإِلَيْكَ
and to You
ٱلْمَصِيرُ
(is) the return"

Amana alrrasoolu bima onzila ilayhi min rabbihi waalmuminoona kullun amana biAllahi wamalaikatihi wakutubihi warusulihi la nufarriqu bayna ahadin min rusulihi waqaloo sami'na waata'na ghufranaka rabbana wailayka almaseeru

Sahih International:

The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination."

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 87

وَ لَقَدۡ اٰتَيۡنَا مُوۡسَى الۡكِتٰبَ وَقَفَّيۡنَا مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِهٖ بِالرُّسُلِ‌ وَاٰتَيۡنَا عِيۡسَى ابۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ الۡبَيِّنٰتِ وَاَيَّدۡنٰهُ بِرُوۡحِ الۡقُدُسِ‌ؕ اَفَكُلَّمَا جَآءَكُمۡ رَسُوۡلٌۢ بِمَا لَا تَهۡوٰٓى اَنۡفُسُكُمُ اسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡ‌ۚ فَفَرِيۡقًا كَذَّبۡتُمۡ وَفَرِيۡقًا تَقۡتُلُوۡنَ(البقرة :87)

وَلَقَدْ
And indeed
ءَاتَيْنَا
We gave
مُوسَى
Musa
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
وَقَفَّيْنَا
and We followed up
مِنۢ
from
بَعْدِهِۦ
after him
بِٱلرُّسُلِۖ
with [the] Messengers
وَءَاتَيْنَا
And We gave
عِيسَى
Isa
ٱبْنَ
(the) son
مَرْيَمَ
(of) Maryam
ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ
[the] clear signs
وَأَيَّدْنَٰهُ
and We supported him
بِرُوحِ
(with)
ٱلْقُدُسِۗ
the Holy Spirit
أَفَكُلَّمَا
Is it (not) so (that) whenever
جَآءَكُمْ
came to you
رَسُولٌۢ
a Messenger
بِمَا
with what
لَا
(does) not
تَهْوَىٰٓ
desire
أَنفُسُكُمُ
yourselves
ٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ
you acted arrogantly?
فَفَرِيقًا
So a party
كَذَّبْتُمْ
you denied
وَفَرِيقًا
and a party
تَقْتُلُونَ
you kill(ed)

Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba waqaffayna min ba'dihi bialrrusuli waatayna 'eesa ibna maryama albayyinati waayyadnahu biroohi alqudusi afakullama jaakum rasoolun bima la tahwa anfusukumu istakbartum fafareeqan kaththabtum wafareeqan taqtuloona

Sahih International:

And We did certainly give Moses the Torah and followed up after him with messengers. And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the Pure Spirit. But is it [not] that every time a messenger came to you, [O Children of Israel], with what your souls did not desire, you were arrogant? And a party [of messengers] you denied and another party you killed.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [3] Ali Imran : 144

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ  ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِ الرُّسُلُ‌ؕ اَفَا۟ٮِٕنْ مَّاتَ اَوۡ قُتِلَ انْقَلَبۡتُمۡ عَلٰٓى اَعۡقَابِكُمۡ‌ؕ وَمَنۡ يَّنۡقَلِبۡ عَلٰى عَقِبَيۡهِ فَلَنۡ يَّضُرَّ اللّٰهَ شَيۡـــًٔا‌ ؕ وَسَيَجۡزِى اللّٰهُ الشّٰكِرِيۡنَ(آل عمران :144)

وَمَا
And not
مُحَمَّدٌ
(is) Muhammad
إِلَّا
except
رَسُولٌ
a Messenger
قَدْ
certainly
خَلَتْ
passed away
مِن
from
قَبْلِهِ
before him
ٱلرُّسُلُۚ
[the] (other) Messengers
أَفَإِي۟ن
So if
مَّاتَ
he died
أَوْ
or
قُتِلَ
is slain
ٱنقَلَبْتُمْ
will you turn back
عَلَىٰٓ
on
أَعْقَٰبِكُمْۚ
your heels?
وَمَن
And whoever
يَنقَلِبْ
turns back
عَلَىٰ
on
عَقِبَيْهِ
his heels
فَلَن
then never
يَضُرَّ
will he harm
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
شَيْـًٔاۗ
(in) anything
وَسَيَجْزِى
And will reward
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
the grateful ones

Wama muhammadun illa rasoolun qad khalat min qablihi alrrusulu afain mata aw qutila inqalabtum 'ala a'qabikum waman yanqalib 'ala 'aqibayhi falan yadurra Allaha shayan wasayajzee Allahu alshshakireena

Sahih International:

Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah at all; but Allah will reward the grateful.

Surah [3] Ali Imran : 179

مَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيَذَرَ الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ عَلٰى مَاۤ اَنۡـتُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ حَتّٰى يَمِيۡزَ الۡخَبِيۡثَ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِ‌ؕ وَمَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيُطۡلِعَكُمۡ عَلَى الۡغَيۡبِ وَ لٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَجۡتَبِىۡ مِنۡ رُّسُلِهٖ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ‌ ۖ فَاٰمِنُوۡا بِاللّٰهِ وَرُسُلِهٖ‌ۚ وَاِنۡ تُؤۡمِنُوۡا وَتَتَّقُوۡا فَلَـكُمۡ اَجۡرٌ عَظِيۡمٌ(آل عمران :179)

مَّا
Not
كَانَ
is
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
لِيَذَرَ
to leave
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
the believers
عَلَىٰ
on
مَآ
what
أَنتُمْ
you (are)
عَلَيْهِ
in [it]
حَتَّىٰ
until
يَمِيزَ
He separates
ٱلْخَبِيثَ
the evil
مِنَ
from
ٱلطَّيِّبِۗ
the good
وَمَا
And not
كَانَ
is
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ
to inform you
عَلَى
about
ٱلْغَيْبِ
the unseen
وَلَٰكِنَّ
[and] but
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يَجْتَبِى
chooses
مِن
from
رُّسُلِهِۦ
His Messengers
مَن
whom
يَشَآءُۖ
He wills
فَـَٔامِنُوا۟
so believe
بِٱللَّهِ
in Allah
وَرُسُلِهِۦۚ
and His Messengers
وَإِن
and if
تُؤْمِنُوا۟
you believe
وَتَتَّقُوا۟
and fear (Allah)
فَلَكُمْ
then for you
أَجْرٌ
(is a) reward
عَظِيمٌ
great

Ma kana Allahu liyathara almumineena 'ala ma antum 'alayhi hatta yameeza alkhabeetha mina alttayyibi wama kana Allahu liyutli'akum 'ala alghaybi walakinna Allaha yajtabee min rusulihi man yashao faaminoo biAllahi warusulihi wain tuminoo watattaqoo falakum ajrun 'atheemun

Sahih International:

Allah would not leave the believers in that [state] you are in [presently] until He separates the evil from the good. Nor would Allah reveal to you the unseen. But [instead], Allah chooses of His messengers whom He wills, so believe in Allah and His messengers. And if you believe and fear Him, then for you is a great reward.

Surah [3] Ali Imran : 183

اَلَّذِيۡنَ قَالُوۡۤا اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَهِدَ اِلَيۡنَاۤ اَلَّا نُؤۡمِنَ لِرَسُوۡلٍ حَتّٰى يَاۡتِيَنَا بِقُرۡبَانٍ تَاۡكُلُهُ النَّارُ‌ؕ قُلۡ قَدۡ جَآءَكُمۡ رُسُلٌ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِىۡ بِالۡبَيِّنٰتِ وَبِالَّذِىۡ قُلۡتُمۡ فَلِمَ قَتَلۡتُمُوۡهُمۡ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ صٰدِقِيۡنَ(آل عمران :183)

ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
قَالُوٓا۟
said
إِنَّ
"Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
عَهِدَ
(has) taken promise
إِلَيْنَآ
from us
أَلَّا
that not
نُؤْمِنَ
we (should) believe
لِرَسُولٍ
in a Messenger
حَتَّىٰ
until
يَأْتِيَنَا
he brings to us
بِقُرْبَانٍ
a sacrifice
تَأْكُلُهُ
consumes it
ٱلنَّارُۗ
the fire"
قُلْ
Say
قَدْ
"Surely
جَآءَكُمْ
came to you
رُسُلٌ
Messengers
مِّن
from
قَبْلِى
before me
بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ
with the clear Signs
وَبِٱلَّذِى
and with what
قُلْتُمْ
you speak
فَلِمَ
So why
قَتَلْتُمُوهُمْ
you killed them
إِن
if
كُنتُمْ
you are
صَٰدِقِينَ
truthful

Allatheena qaloo inna Allaha 'ahida ilayna alla numina lirasoolin hatta yatiyana biqurbanin takuluhu alnnaru qul qad jaakum rusulun min qablee bialbayyinati wabiallathee qultum falima qataltumoohum in kutum sadiqeena

Sahih International:

[They are] those who said, "Indeed, Allah has taken our promise not to believe any messenger until he brings us an offering which fire [from heaven] will consume." Say, "There have already come to you messengers before me with clear proofs and [even] that of which you speak. So why did you kill them, if you should be truthful?"

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [3] Ali Imran : 184

فَاِنۡ كَذَّبُوۡكَ فَقَدۡ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٌ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِكَ جَآءُوۡ بِالۡبَيِّنٰتِ وَالزُّبُرِ وَالۡكِتٰبِ الۡمُنِيۡرِ(آل عمران :184)

فَإِن
Then if
كَذَّبُوكَ
they reject you
فَقَدْ
then certainly
كُذِّبَ
were rejected
رُسُلٌ
Messengers
مِّن
from
قَبْلِكَ
before you
جَآءُو
(who) came
بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ
with the clear Signs
وَٱلزُّبُرِ
and the Scriptures
وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ
and the Book
ٱلْمُنِيرِ
[the] Enlightening

Fain kaththabooka faqad kuththiba rusulun min qablika jaoo bialbayyinati waalzzuburi waalkitabi almuneeri

Sahih International:

Then if they deny you, [O Muhammad] - so were messengers denied before you, who brought clear proofs and written ordinances and the enlightening Scripture.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [3] Ali Imran : 194

رَبَّنَا وَاٰتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلٰى رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخۡزِنَا يَوۡمَ الۡقِيٰمَةِ ‌ؕ اِنَّكَ لَا تُخۡلِفُ الۡمِيۡعَادَ(آل عمران :194)

رَبَّنَا
Our Lord
وَءَاتِنَا
grant us
مَا
what
وَعَدتَّنَا
You promised us
عَلَىٰ
through
رُسُلِكَ
Your Messengers
وَلَا
and (do) not
تُخْزِنَا
disgrace us
يَوْمَ
(on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِۗ
(of) [the] Resurrection
إِنَّكَ
Indeed You
لَا
(do) not
تُخْلِفُ
break
ٱلْمِيعَادَ
the promise"

Rabbana waatina ma wa'adtana 'ala rusulika wala tukhzina yawma alqiyamati innaka la tukhlifu almee'ada

Sahih International:

Our Lord, and grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not fail in [Your] promise."

Surah [4] An-Nisa' : 136

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اٰمِنُوۡا بِاللّٰهِ وَرَسُوۡلِهٖ وَالۡكِتٰبِ الَّذِىۡ نَزَّلَ عَلٰى رَسُوۡلِهٖ وَالۡكِتٰبِ الَّذِىۡۤ اَنۡزَلَ مِنۡ قَبۡلُ‌ؕ وَمَنۡ يَّكۡفُرۡ بِاللّٰهِ وَمَلٰٓٮِٕكَتِهٖ وَكُتُبِهٖ وَرُسُلِهٖ وَالۡيَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِ فَقَدۡ ضَلَّ ضَلٰلًاۢ بَعِيۡدًا(النساء :136)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
who
ءَامَنُوٓا۟
believe[d]!
ءَامِنُوا۟
Believe
بِٱللَّهِ
in Allah
وَرَسُولِهِۦ
and His Messenger
وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ
and the Book
ٱلَّذِى
which
نَزَّلَ
He revealed
عَلَىٰ
upon
رَسُولِهِۦ
His Messenger
وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ
and the Book
ٱلَّذِىٓ
which
أَنزَلَ
He revealed
مِن
from
قَبْلُۚ
before
وَمَن
And whoever
يَكْفُرْ
disbelieves
بِٱللَّهِ
in Allah
وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ
and His Angels
وَكُتُبِهِۦ
and His Books
وَرُسُلِهِۦ
and His Messengers
وَٱلْيَوْمِ
and the Day
ٱلْءَاخِرِ
the Last
فَقَدْ
then surely
ضَلَّ
he (has) lost (the) way
ضَلَٰلًۢا
straying
بَعِيدًا
far away

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo aminoo biAllahi warasoolihi waalkitabi allathee nazzala 'ala rasoolihi waalkitabi allathee anzala min qablu waman yakfur biAllahi wamalaikatihi wakutubihi warusulihi waalyawmi alakhiri faqad dalla dalalan ba'eedan

Sahih International:

O you who have believed, believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Book that He sent down upon His Messenger and the Scripture which He sent down before. And whoever disbelieves in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day has certainly gone far astray.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [4] An-Nisa' : 152

وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا بِاللّٰهِ وَرُسُلِهٖ وَلَمۡ يُفَرِّقُوۡا بَيۡنَ اَحَدٍ مِّنۡهُمۡ اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ سَوۡفَ يُؤۡتِيۡهِمۡ اُجُوۡرَهُمۡ ‌ؕ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوۡرًا رَّحِيۡمًا(النساء :152)

وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
believe
بِٱللَّهِ
in Allah
وَرُسُلِهِۦ
and His Messengers
وَلَمْ
and not
يُفَرِّقُوا۟
they differentiate
بَيْنَ
between
أَحَدٍ
(any) one
مِّنْهُمْ
of them
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
those
سَوْفَ
soon
يُؤْتِيهِمْ
He will give them
أُجُورَهُمْۗ
their reward
وَكَانَ
And is
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
غَفُورًا
Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمًا
Most Merciful

Waallatheena amanoo biAllahi warusulihi walam yufarriqoo bayna ahadin minhum olaika sawfa yuteehim ojoorahum wakana Allahu ghafooran raheeman

Sahih International:

But they who believe in Allah and His messengers and do not discriminate between any of them - to those He is going to give their rewards. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
