Surah [1] Al-Fatiha : 4

مٰلِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِ(الفاتحة :4)

مَٰلِكِ
Master
يَوْمِ
(of the) Day
ٱلدِّينِ
(of) [the] Judgment

Maliki yawmi alddeeni

Sahih International:

Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 128

رَبَّنَا وَاجۡعَلۡنَا مُسۡلِمَيۡنِ لَـكَ وَ مِنۡ ذُرِّيَّتِنَآ اُمَّةً مُّسۡلِمَةً لَّكَ وَاَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبۡ عَلَيۡنَا ۚ اِنَّكَ اَنۡتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيۡمُ(البقرة :128)

رَبَّنَا
Our Lord!
وَٱجْعَلْنَا
[and] Make us
مُسْلِمَيْنِ
both submissive
لَكَ
to You
وَمِن
And from
ذُرِّيَّتِنَآ
our offspring
أُمَّةً
a community
مُّسْلِمَةً
submissive
لَّكَ
to You
وَأَرِنَا
And show us
مَنَاسِكَنَا
our ways of worship
وَتُبْ
and turn
عَلَيْنَآۖ
to us
إِنَّكَ
Indeed You!
أَنتَ
[You] (are)
ٱلتَّوَّابُ
the Oft-returning
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
the Most Merciful

Rabbana waij'alna muslimayni laka wamin thurriyyatina ommatan muslimatan laka waarina manasikana watub 'alayna innaka anta alttawwabu alrraheemu

Sahih International:

Our Lord, and make us Muslims [in submission] to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation [in submission] to You. And show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 133

اَمۡ كُنۡتُمۡ شُهَدَآءَ اِذۡ حَضَرَ يَعۡقُوۡبَ الۡمَوۡتُۙ اِذۡ قَالَ لِبَنِيۡهِ مَا تَعۡبُدُوۡنَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِىۡؕ قَالُوۡا نَعۡبُدُ اِلٰهَكَ وَاِلٰهَ اٰبَآٮِٕكَ اِبۡرٰهٖمَ وَاِسۡمٰعِيۡلَ وَاِسۡحٰقَ اِلٰهًا وَّاحِدًا ۖۚ وَّنَحۡنُ لَهٗ مُسۡلِمُوۡنَ(البقرة :133)

أَمْ
Or
كُنتُمْ
were you
شُهَدَآءَ
witnesses
إِذْ
when
حَضَرَ
came to
يَعْقُوبَ
Yaqub
ٱلْمَوْتُ
[the] death
إِذْ
when
قَالَ
he said
لِبَنِيهِ
to his sons
مَا
"What
تَعْبُدُونَ
will you worship
مِنۢ
from
بَعْدِى
after me?"
قَالُوا۟
They said
نَعْبُدُ
"We will worship
إِلَٰهَكَ
your God
وَإِلَٰهَ
and (the) God
ءَابَآئِكَ
(of) your forefathers
إِبْرَٰهِۦمَ
Ibrahim
وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ
and Ismail
وَإِسْحَٰقَ
and Ishaq
إِلَٰهًا
God
وَٰحِدًا
One
وَنَحْنُ
And we
لَهُۥ
to Him
مُسْلِمُونَ
(are) submissive"

Am kuntum shuhadaa ith hadara ya'qooba almawtu ith qala libaneehi ma ta'budoona min ba'dee qaloo na'budu ilahaka wailaha abaika ibraheema waisma'eela waishaqa ilahan wahidan wanahnu lahu muslimoona

Sahih International:

Or were you witnesses when death approached Jacob, when he said to his sons, "What will you worship after me?" They said, "We will worship your God and the God of your fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac - one God. And we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 138

صِبۡغَةَ اللّٰهِ ‌ۚ وَمَنۡ اَحۡسَنُ مِنَ اللّٰهِ صِبۡغَةً وَّنَحۡنُ لَهٗ عٰبِدُوۡنَ(البقرة :138)

صِبْغَةَ
(The) color (religion)
ٱللَّهِۖ
(of) Allah!
وَمَنْ
And who
أَحْسَنُ
(is) better
مِنَ
than
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
صِبْغَةًۖ
at coloring?
وَنَحْنُ
And we
لَهُۥ
to Him
عَٰبِدُونَ
(are) worshippers

Sibghata Allahi waman ahsanu mina Allahi sibghatan wanahnu lahu 'abidoona

Sahih International:

[And say, "Ours is] the religion of Allah . And who is better than Allah in [ordaining] religion? And we are worshippers of Him."

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 172

يٰٓاَ يُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا کُلُوۡا مِنۡ طَيِّبٰتِ مَا رَزَقۡنٰكُمۡ وَاشۡكُرُوۡا لِلّٰهِ اِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ اِيَّاهُ تَعۡبُدُوۡنَ(البقرة :172)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
who
ءَامَنُوا۟
believe[d]!
كُلُوا۟
Eat
مِن
from
طَيِّبَٰتِ
(the) good
مَا
what
رَزَقْنَٰكُمْ
We have provided you
وَٱشْكُرُوا۟
and be grateful
لِلَّهِ
to Allah
إِن
if
كُنتُمْ
you
إِيَّاهُ
alone
تَعْبُدُونَ
worship Him

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo kuloo min tayyibati ma razaqnakum waoshkuroo lillahi in kuntum iyyahu ta'budoona

Sahih International:

O you who have believed, eat from the good things which We have provided for you and be grateful to Allah if it is [indeed] Him that you worship.

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 21

يٰۤاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اعۡبُدُوۡا رَبَّكُمُ الَّذِىۡ خَلَقَكُمۡ وَالَّذِيۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُوۡنَ ۙ ‏(البقرة :21)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
ٱلنَّاسُ
mankind!
ٱعْبُدُوا۟
worship
رَبَّكُمُ
your Lord
ٱلَّذِى
the One Who
خَلَقَكُمْ
created you
وَٱلَّذِينَ
and those [who]
مِن
from
قَبْلِكُمْ
before you
لَعَلَّكُمْ
so that you may
تَتَّقُونَ
become righteous

Ya ayyuha alnnasu o'budoo rabbakumu allathee khalaqakum waallatheena min qablikum la'allakum tattaqoona

Sahih International:

O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous -

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 83

وَاِذۡ اَخَذۡنَا مِيۡثَاقَ بَنِىۡٓ اِسۡرَآءِيۡلَ لَا تَعۡبُدُوۡنَ اِلَّا اللّٰهَ وَبِالۡوَالِدَيۡنِ اِحۡسَانًا وَّذِى الۡقُرۡبٰى وَالۡيَتٰمٰى وَالۡمَسٰکِيۡنِ وَقُوۡلُوۡا لِلنَّاسِ حُسۡنًا وَّاَقِيۡمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتُوا الزَّکٰوةَ ؕ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيۡتُمۡ اِلَّا قَلِيۡلًا مِّنۡکُمۡ وَاَنۡـتُمۡ مُّعۡرِضُوۡنَ(البقرة :83)

وَإِذْ
And when
أَخَذْنَا
We took
مِيثَٰقَ
(the) covenant
بَنِىٓ
(from the) Children
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
(of) Israel
لَا
"Not
تَعْبُدُونَ
you will worship
إِلَّا
except
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ
and with [the] parents
إِحْسَانًا
(be) good
وَذِى
and (with)
ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ
relatives
وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ
and [the] orphans
وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ
and the needy
وَقُولُوا۟
and speak
لِلنَّاسِ
to [the] people
حُسْنًا
good
وَأَقِيمُوا۟
and establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
the prayer
وَءَاتُوا۟
and give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
the zakah
ثُمَّ
Then
تَوَلَّيْتُمْ
you turned away
إِلَّا
except
قَلِيلًا
a few
مِّنكُمْ
of you
وَأَنتُم
and you (were)
مُّعْرِضُونَ
refusing

Waith akhathna meethaqa banee israeela la ta'budoona illa Allaha wabialwalidayni ihsanan wathee alqurba waalyatama waalmasakeeni waqooloo lilnnasi husnan waaqeemoo alssalata waatoo alzzakata thumma tawallaytum illa qaleelan minkum waantum mu'ridoona

Sahih International:

And [recall] when We took the covenant from the Children of Israel, [enjoining upon them], "Do not worship except Allah ; and to parents do good and to relatives, orphans, and the needy. And speak to people good [words] and establish prayer and give zakah." Then you turned away, except a few of you, and you were refusing.

Surah [3] Ali Imran : 51

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ رَبِّىۡ وَرَبُّكُمۡ فَاعۡبُدُوۡهُ‌ ؕ هٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُّسۡتَقِيۡمٌ(آل عمران :51)

إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
رَبِّى
(is) my Lord
وَرَبُّكُمْ
and your Lord
فَٱعْبُدُوهُۗ
so worship Him
هَٰذَا
This
صِرَٰطٌ
(is) the path"
مُّسْتَقِيمٌ
straight"

Inna Allaha rabbee warabbukum fao'budoohu hatha siratun mustaqeemun

Sahih International:

Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is the straight path."

Surah [3] Ali Imran : 64

قُلۡ يٰۤـاَهۡلَ الۡكِتٰبِ تَعَالَوۡا اِلٰى كَلِمَةٍ سَوَآءٍۢ بَيۡنَـنَا وَبَيۡنَكُمۡ اَلَّا نَـعۡبُدَ اِلَّا اللّٰهَ وَلَا نُشۡرِكَ بِهٖ شَيۡـــًٔا وَّلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعۡضُنَا بَعۡضًا اَرۡبَابًا مِّنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ‌ؕ فَاِنۡ تَوَلَّوۡا فَقُوۡلُوا اشۡهَدُوۡا بِاَنَّا مُسۡلِمُوۡنَ(آل عمران :64)

قُلْ
Say
يَٰٓأَهْلَ
"O People
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
(of) the Book!
تَعَالَوْا۟
Come
إِلَىٰ
to
كَلِمَةٍ
a word
سَوَآءٍۭ
equitable
بَيْنَنَا
between us
وَبَيْنَكُمْ
and between you
أَلَّا
that not
نَعْبُدَ
we worship
إِلَّا
except
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
وَلَا
and not
نُشْرِكَ
we associate partners
بِهِۦ
with Him
شَيْـًٔا
anything
وَلَا
and not
يَتَّخِذَ
take
بَعْضُنَا
some of us
بَعْضًا
(to) others
أَرْبَابًا
(as) lords
مِّن
from"
دُونِ
besides"
ٱللَّهِۚ
Allah"
فَإِن
Then if
تَوَلَّوْا۟
they turn away
فَقُولُوا۟
then say
ٱشْهَدُوا۟
"Bear witness
بِأَنَّا
that we
مُسْلِمُونَ
(are) Muslims"

Qul ya ahla alkitabi ta'alaw ila kalimatin sawain baynana wabaynakum alla na'buda illa Allaha wala nushrika bihi shayan wala yattakhitha ba'duna ba'dan arbaban min dooni Allahi fain tawallaw faqooloo ishhadoo bianna muslimoona

Sahih International:

Say, "O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we will not worship except Allah and not associate anything with Him and not take one another as lords instead of Allah ." But if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]."

Surah [3] Ali Imran : 79

مَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ اَنۡ يُّؤۡتِيَهُ اللّٰهُ الۡكِتٰبَ وَالۡحُكۡمَ وَالنُّبُوَّةَ ثُمَّ يَقُوۡلَ لِلنَّاسِ كُوۡنُوۡا عِبَادًا لِّىۡ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ وَلٰـكِنۡ كُوۡنُوۡا رَبَّانِيّٖنَ بِمَا كُنۡتُمۡ تُعَلِّمُوۡنَ الۡكِتٰبَ وَبِمَا كُنۡتُمۡ تَدۡرُسُوۡنَۙ‏(آل عمران :79)

مَا
Not
كَانَ
is
لِبَشَرٍ
for a human
أَن
that
يُؤْتِيَهُ
gives him
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
وَٱلْحُكْمَ
and the wisdom
وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ
and the Prophethood
ثُمَّ
then
يَقُولَ
he says
لِلنَّاسِ
to the people
كُونُوا۟
"Be
عِبَادًا
worshippers
لِّى
of me
مِن
from
دُونِ
besides
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
وَلَٰكِن
but (would say)
كُونُوا۟
"Be
رَبَّٰنِيِّۦنَ
worshippers of the Lord
بِمَا
because
كُنتُمْ
you have been
تُعَلِّمُونَ
teaching
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
وَبِمَا
and because
كُنتُمْ
you have been
تَدْرُسُونَ
studying (it)"

Ma kana libasharin an yutiyahu Allahu alkitaba waalhukma waalnnubuwwata thumma yaqoola lilnnasi koonoo 'ibadan lee min dooni Allahi walakin koonoo rabbaniyyeena bima kuntum tu'allimoona alkitaba wabima kuntum tadrusoona

Sahih International:

It is not for a human [prophet] that Allah should give him the Scripture and authority and prophethood and then he would say to the people, "Be servants to me rather than Allah," but [instead, he would say], "Be pious scholars of the Lord because of what you have taught of the Scripture and because of what you have studied."
