Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 129

رَبَّنَا وَابۡعَثۡ فِيۡهِمۡ رَسُوۡلًا مِّنۡهُمۡ يَتۡلُوۡا عَلَيۡهِمۡ اٰيٰتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الۡكِتٰبَ وَالۡحِكۡمَةَ وَ يُزَكِّيۡهِمۡ‌ؕ اِنَّكَ اَنۡتَ الۡعَزِيۡزُ الۡحَكِيۡمُ(البقرة :129)

رَبَّنَا
Our Lord!
وَٱبْعَثْ
[And] raise up
فِيهِمْ
in them
رَسُولًا
a Messenger
مِّنْهُمْ
from them
يَتْلُوا۟
(who) will recite
عَلَيْهِمْ
to them
ءَايَٰتِكَ
Your Verses
وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ
and will teach them
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ
and the wisdom
وَيُزَكِّيهِمْۚ
and purify them
إِنَّكَ
Indeed You!
أَنتَ
You (are)
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
the All-Wise"

Rabbana waib'ath feehim rasoolan minhum yatloo 'alayhim ayatika wayu'allimuhumu alkitaba waalhikmata wayuzakkeehim innaka anta al'azeezu alhakeemu

Sahih International:

Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 151

كَمَآ اَرۡسَلۡنَا فِيۡکُمۡ رَسُوۡلًا مِّنۡکُمۡ يَتۡلُوۡا عَلَيۡكُمۡ اٰيٰتِنَا وَيُزَكِّيۡکُمۡ وَيُعَلِّمُکُمُ الۡكِتٰبَ وَالۡحِکۡمَةَ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمۡ مَّا لَمۡ تَكُوۡنُوۡا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ (البقرة :151)

كَمَآ
As
أَرْسَلْنَا
We sent
فِيكُمْ
among you
رَسُولًا
a Messenger
مِّنكُمْ
from you
يَتْلُوا۟
(who) recites
عَلَيْكُمْ
to you
ءَايَٰتِنَا
Our verses
وَيُزَكِّيكُمْ
and purifies you
وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ
and teaches you
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ
and the wisdom
وَيُعَلِّمُكُم
and teaches you
مَّا
what
لَمْ
not
تَكُونُوا۟
you were
تَعْلَمُونَ
knowing

Kama arsalna feekum rasoolan minkum yatloo 'alaykum ayatina wayuzakkeekum wayu'allimukumu alkitaba waalhikmata wayu'allimukum ma lam takoonoo ta'lamoona

Sahih International:

Just as We have sent among you a messenger from yourselves reciting to you Our verses and purifying you and teaching you the Book and wisdom and teaching you that which you did not know.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 209

فَاِنۡ زَلَـلۡتُمۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَتۡکُمُ الۡبَيِّنٰتُ فَاعۡلَمُوۡٓا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ عَزِيۡزٌ حَکِيۡمٌ(البقرة :209)

فَإِن
Then if
زَلَلْتُم
you slip
مِّنۢ
from
بَعْدِ
after
مَا
[what]
جَآءَتْكُمُ
came to you
ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ
(from) the clear proofs
فَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟
then know
أَنَّ
that
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
عَزِيزٌ
(is) All-Mighty
حَكِيمٌ
All-Wise

Fain zalaltum min ba'di ma jaatkumu albayyinatu fai'lamoo anna Allaha 'azeezun hakeemun

Sahih International:

But if you deviate after clear proofs have come to you, then know that Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 220

فِى الدُّنۡيَا وَالۡاٰخِرَةِؕ وَيَسۡـــَٔلُوۡنَكَ عَنِ الۡيَتٰمٰىؕ قُلۡ اِصۡلَاحٌ لَّهُمۡ خَيۡرٌ ؕ وَاِنۡ تُخَالِطُوۡهُمۡ فَاِخۡوَانُكُمۡ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ يَعۡلَمُ الۡمُفۡسِدَ مِنَ الۡمُصۡلِحِ‌ؕ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ لَاَعۡنَتَكُمۡؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَزِيۡزٌ حَكِيۡمٌ(البقرة :220)

فِى
Concerning
ٱلدُّنْيَا
the world
وَٱلْءَاخِرَةِۗ
and the Hereafter
وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ
They ask you
عَنِ
about
ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰۖ
the orphans
قُلْ
Say
إِصْلَاحٌ
"Setting right (their affairs)
لَّهُمْ
for them
خَيْرٌۖ
(is) best
وَإِن
And if
تُخَالِطُوهُمْ
you associate with them
فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْۚ
then they (are) your brothers
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
يَعْلَمُ
knows
ٱلْمُفْسِدَ
the corrupter
مِنَ
from
ٱلْمُصْلِحِۚ
the amender
وَلَوْ
And if
شَآءَ
(had) willed
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
لَأَعْنَتَكُمْۚ
surely He (could have) put you in difficulties
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
عَزِيزٌ
(is) All-Mighty
حَكِيمٌ
All-Wise"

Fee alddunya waalakhirati wayasaloonaka 'ani alyatama qul islahun lahum khayrun wain tukhalitoohum faikhwanukum waAllahu ya'lamu almufsida mina almuslihi walaw shaa Allahu laa'natakum inna Allaha 'azeezun hakeemun

Sahih International:

To this world and the Hereafter. And they ask you about orphans. Say, "Improvement for them is best. And if you mix your affairs with theirs - they are your brothers. And Allah knows the corrupter from the amender. And if Allah had willed, He could have put you in difficulty. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 231

وَاِذَا طَلَّقۡتُمُ النِّسَآءَ فَبَلَغۡنَ اَجَلَهُنَّ فَاَمۡسِكُوۡهُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوۡفٍ اَوۡ سَرِّحُوۡهُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوۡفٍ‌ ۖ وَلَا تُمۡسِكُوۡهُنَّ ضِرَارًا لِّتَعۡتَدُوۡا‌ ۚ وَمَنۡ يَّفۡعَلۡ ذٰ لِكَ فَقَدۡ ظَلَمَ نَفۡسَهٗ ‌ؕ وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوۡٓا اٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ هُزُوًا‌ وَّاذۡكُرُوۡا نِعۡمَتَ اللّٰهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَمَآ اَنۡزَلَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡكِتٰبِ وَالۡحِكۡمَةِ يَعِظُكُمۡ بِهٖ‌ؕ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاعۡلَمُوۡٓا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ بِكُلِّ شَىۡءٍ عَلِيۡمٌ(البقرة :231)

وَإِذَا
And when
طَلَّقْتُمُ
you divorce
ٱلنِّسَآءَ
the women
فَبَلَغْنَ
and they reach
أَجَلَهُنَّ
their (waiting) term
فَأَمْسِكُوهُنَّ
then retain them
بِمَعْرُوفٍ
in a fair manner
أَوْ
or
سَرِّحُوهُنَّ
release them
بِمَعْرُوفٍۚ
in a fair manner
وَلَا
And (do) not
تُمْسِكُوهُنَّ
retain them
ضِرَارًا
(to) hurt
لِّتَعْتَدُوا۟ۚ
so that you transgress
وَمَن
And whoever
يَفْعَلْ
does
ذَٰلِكَ
that
فَقَدْ
then indeed
ظَلَمَ
he wronged
نَفْسَهُۥۚ
himself
وَلَا
And (do) not
تَتَّخِذُوٓا۟
take
ءَايَٰتِ
(the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
هُزُوًاۚ
(in) jest
وَٱذْكُرُوا۟
and remember
نِعْمَتَ
(the) Favors
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
عَلَيْكُمْ
upon you
وَمَآ
and what
أَنزَلَ
(is) revealed
عَلَيْكُم
to you
مِّنَ
of
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
the Book
وَٱلْحِكْمَةِ
and the wisdom
يَعِظُكُم
He instructs you
بِهِۦۚ
with it
وَٱتَّقُوا۟
And fear
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟
and know
أَنَّ
that
ٱللَّهَ
Allah (is)
بِكُلِّ
of every
شَىْءٍ
thing
عَلِيمٌ
All-Knower

Waitha tallaqtumu alnnisaa fabalaghna ajalahunna faamsikoohunna bima'roofin aw sarrihoohunna bima'roofin wala tumsikoohunna diraran lita'tadoo waman yaf'al thalika faqad thalama nafsahu wala tattakhithoo ayati Allahi huzuwan waothkuroo ni'mata Allahi 'alaykum wama anzala 'alaykum mina alkitabi waalhikmati ya'ithukum bihi waittaqoo Allaha wai'lamoo anna Allaha bikulli shayin 'aleemun

Sahih International:

And when you divorce women and they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or release them according to acceptable terms, and do not keep them, intending harm, to transgress [against them]. And whoever does that has certainly wronged himself. And do not take the verses of Allah in jest. And remember the favor of Allah upon you and what has been revealed to you of the Book and wisdom by which He instructs you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is Knowing of all things.

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 240

وَالَّذِيۡنَ يُتَوَفَّوۡنَ مِنۡکُمۡ وَيَذَرُوۡنَ اَزۡوَاجًا  ۖۚ وَّصِيَّةً لِّاَزۡوَاجِهِمۡ مَّتَاعًا اِلَى الۡحَـوۡلِ غَيۡرَ اِخۡرَاجٍ‌‌ ۚ فَاِنۡ خَرَجۡنَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡکُمۡ فِىۡ مَا فَعَلۡنَ فِىۡٓ اَنۡفُسِهِنَّ مِنۡ مَّعۡرُوۡفٍؕ وَاللّٰهُ عَزِيۡزٌ حَکِيۡمٌ(البقرة :240)

وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
يُتَوَفَّوْنَ
they die
مِنكُمْ
among you
وَيَذَرُونَ
and leave behind
أَزْوَٰجًا
(their) wives
وَصِيَّةً
(should make) a will
لِّأَزْوَٰجِهِم
for their wives
مَّتَٰعًا
provision
إِلَى
for
ٱلْحَوْلِ
the year
غَيْرَ
without
إِخْرَاجٍۚ
driving (them) out
فَإِنْ
But if
خَرَجْنَ
they leave
فَلَا
then no
جُنَاحَ
blame
عَلَيْكُمْ
upon you
فِى
in
مَا
what
فَعَلْنَ
they do
فِىٓ
concerning
أَنفُسِهِنَّ
themselves
مِن
[of]
مَّعْرُوفٍۗ
honorably
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
عَزِيزٌ
(is) All-Mighty
حَكِيمٌ
All-Wise

Waallatheena yutawaffawna minkum wayatharoona azwajan wasiyyatan liazwajihim mata'an ila alhawli ghayra ikhrajin fain kharajna fala junaha 'alaykum fee ma fa'alna fee anfusihinna min ma'roofin waAllahu 'azeezun hakeemun

Sahih International:

And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind - for their wives is a bequest; maintenance for one year without turning [them] out. But if they leave [of their own accord], then there is no blame upon you for what they do with themselves in an acceptable way. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 251

فَهَزَمُوۡهُمۡ بِاِذۡنِ اللّٰهِ ۙ وَقَتَلَ دَاوٗدُ جَالُوۡتَ وَاٰتٰٮهُ اللّٰهُ الۡمُلۡكَ وَالۡحِکۡمَةَ وَعَلَّمَهٗ مِمَّا يَشَآءُ ‌ؕ وَلَوۡلَا دَفۡعُ اللّٰهِ النَّاسَ بَعۡضَهُمۡ بِبَعۡضٍ لَّفَسَدَتِ الۡاَرۡضُ وَلٰـکِنَّ اللّٰهَ ذُوۡ فَضۡلٍ عَلَى الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ(البقرة :251)

فَهَزَمُوهُم
So they defeated them
بِإِذْنِ
by (the) permission
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
وَقَتَلَ
and killed
دَاوُۥدُ
Dawood
جَالُوتَ
Jalut
وَءَاتَىٰهُ
and gave him
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
ٱلْمُلْكَ
the kingdom
وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ
and the wisdom
وَعَلَّمَهُۥ
and taught him
مِمَّا
that which
يَشَآءُۗ
He willed
وَلَوْلَا
And if not
دَفْعُ
(for the) repelling
ٱللَّهِ
(by) Allah
ٱلنَّاسَ
[the] people
بَعْضَهُم
some of them
بِبَعْضٍ
with others
لَّفَسَدَتِ
certainly (would have) corrupted
ٱلْأَرْضُ
the Earth
وَلَٰكِنَّ
[and] but
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
ذُو
(is) Possessor
فَضْلٍ
(of) bounty
عَلَى
to
ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
the worlds

Fahazamoohum biithni Allahi waqatala dawoodu jaloota waatahu Allahu almulka waalhikmata wa'allamahu mimma yashao walawla daf'u Allahi alnnasa ba'dahum biba'din lafasadati alardu walakinna Allaha thoo fadlin 'ala al'alameena

Sahih International:

So they defeated them by permission of Allah, and David killed Goliath, and Allah gave him the kingship and prophethood and taught him from that which He willed. And if it were not for Allah checking [some] people by means of others, the earth would have been corrupted, but Allah is full of bounty to the worlds.

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 260

وَاِذۡ قَالَ اِبۡرٰهٖمُ رَبِّ اَرِنِىۡ كَيۡفَ تُحۡىِ الۡمَوۡتٰى ؕ قَالَ اَوَلَمۡ تُؤۡمِنۡ‌ؕ قَالَ بَلٰى وَلٰـكِنۡ لِّيَطۡمَٮِٕنَّ قَلۡبِىۡ‌ؕ قَالَ فَخُذۡ اَرۡبَعَةً مِّنَ الطَّيۡرِ فَصُرۡهُنَّ اِلَيۡكَ ثُمَّ اجۡعَلۡ عَلٰى كُلِّ جَبَلٍ مِّنۡهُنَّ جُزۡءًا ثُمَّ ادۡعُهُنَّ يَاۡتِيۡنَكَ سَعۡيًا ‌ؕ وَاعۡلَمۡ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ عَزِيۡزٌ حَكِيۡمٌ(البقرة :260)

وَإِذْ
And when
قَالَ
said
إِبْرَٰهِۦمُ
Ibrahim
رَبِّ
"My Lord
أَرِنِى
show me
كَيْفَ
how
تُحْىِ
You give life
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰۖ
(to) the dead"
قَالَ
He said
أَوَلَمْ
"Have not
تُؤْمِنۖ
you believed?"
قَالَ
He said
بَلَىٰ
"Yes
وَلَٰكِن
[and] but
لِّيَطْمَئِنَّ
to satisfy
قَلْبِىۖ
my heart"
قَالَ
He said
فَخُذْ
"Then take
أَرْبَعَةً
four
مِّنَ
of
ٱلطَّيْرِ
the birds
فَصُرْهُنَّ
and incline them
إِلَيْكَ
towards you
ثُمَّ
then
ٱجْعَلْ
put
عَلَىٰ
on
كُلِّ
each
جَبَلٍ
hill
مِّنْهُنَّ
of them
جُزْءًا
a portion
ثُمَّ
then
ٱدْعُهُنَّ
call them
يَأْتِينَكَ
they will come to you
سَعْيًاۚ
(in) haste
وَٱعْلَمْ
And know
أَنَّ
that
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
عَزِيزٌ
(is) All-Mighty
حَكِيمٌ
All-Wise

Waith qala ibraheemu rabbi arinee kayfa tuhyee almawta qala awalam tumin qala bala walakin liyatmainna qalbee qala fakhuth arba'atan mina alttayri fasurhunna ilayka thumma ij'al 'ala kulli jabalin minhunna juzan thumma od'uhunna yateenaka sa'yan wai'lam anna Allaha 'azeezun hakeemun

Sahih International:

And [mention] when Abraham said, "My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead." [ Allah ] said, "Have you not believed?" He said, "Yes, but [I ask] only that my heart may be satisfied." [ Allah ] said, "Take four birds and commit them to yourself. Then [after slaughtering them] put on each hill a portion of them; then call them - they will come [flying] to you in haste. And know that Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise."

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 269

يُؤۡتِى الۡحِكۡمَةَ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ‌‌ ۚ وَمَنۡ يُّؤۡتَ الۡحِكۡمَةَ فَقَدۡ اُوۡتِىَ خَيۡرًا كَثِيۡرًا‌ ؕ وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ اِلَّاۤ اُولُوا الۡاَلۡبَابِ(البقرة :269)

يُؤْتِى
He grants
ٱلْحِكْمَةَ
[the] wisdom
مَن
(to) whom
يَشَآءُۚ
He wills
وَمَن
and whoever
يُؤْتَ
is granted
ٱلْحِكْمَةَ
[the] wisdom
فَقَدْ
then certainly
أُوتِىَ
he is granted
خَيْرًا
good
كَثِيرًاۗ
abundant
وَمَا
And none
يَذَّكَّرُ
remembers
إِلَّآ
except
أُو۟لُوا۟
those
ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ
(of) understanding

Yutee alhikmata man yashao waman yuta alhikmata faqad ootiya khayran katheeran wama yaththakkaru illa oloo alalbabi

Sahih International:

He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given much good. And none will remember except those of understanding.

Surah [2] Al-Baqara : 32

قَالُوۡا سُبۡحٰنَكَ لَا عِلۡمَ لَنَآ اِلَّا مَا عَلَّمۡتَنَا ؕ اِنَّكَ اَنۡتَ الۡعَلِيۡمُ الۡحَكِيۡمُ(البقرة :32)

قَالُوا۟
They said
سُبْحَٰنَكَ
"Glory be to You!
لَا
No
عِلْمَ
knowledge
لَنَآ
(is) for us
إِلَّا
except
مَا
what
عَلَّمْتَنَآۖ
You have taught us
إِنَّكَ
Indeed You!
أَنتَ
You
ٱلْعَلِيمُ
(are) the All-Knowing
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
the All-Wise

Qaloo subhanaka la 'ilma lana illa ma 'allamtana innaka anta al'aleemu alhakeemu

Sahih International:

They said, "Exalted are You; we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing, the Wise."
